I'm going to WDW in October and staying at the Grand Floridian Garden view. Does anyone have a suggestion of what building or floor to stay in at the Grand Floridian? I would like to have a somewhat decent view (even though I know it won't be of the MK). I didn't want to be too far away from the main building when it comes to coming and going from the hotel room, but also not so close that the sound of the monorail would be annoying. Any suggestions? I would of course love to see castle from my balcony, but husband doesn't want to pay the extra to bump up, so I was wondering if they would do any free upgrades upon check-in, has anyone heard of them doing that at this hotel?
Also, does anyone have any pics of the rooms that I can see other than what is offered on the websites?
Thanks so much for reading.

Well, you can check out room pictures on the GF FAQ. :)

Sounds like you'd like to be in Big Pine Key. Close to the main building, and some rooms do have a fireworks view. :)

Hi,

Big Pine Key is the best building for you. It is close to the main building and I would say about half of the rooms have fireowrk views.

I stayed in GF a while back and had great fun, it is a wonderful hotel; HAVE FUN!

We stayed in Big Pine Key on our first trip. It is very convenient to the main building. We had a lagoon view but faced the Polynesian. The second time we stayed there we had a garden view in Conch Key, we faced the marina. We could see part of the lagoon and the monorail in the distance. I think this was still considered garden view because there was a sidewalk between our room and the marina, I think lagoon view rooms are unobstructed.
