We have done the dining plan on most trips and free dining twice, so I am a well versed in most of it.

We are planning a trip for October 2nd. The "rumored" end date of Free Dining is that same day. (If you believe rumors) Would I be able to get free dining for my entire trip?

As long as you check in on the last day of Free Dining, puchase tickets and stay the min nights required for the Free Dining and actually book the Free Dining Pkg.- then yes you will get the Free Dining for the whole trip (max.14 nights).
