I really can't wait... I really can't!!!! We are leaving in a couple of hours and we are driving down. Over the past three months I was really wanting to fly, but something was just telling me not this year. Come to find out.... my little guy has a double ear infection and if we were to be flying his doctor would not have given him the okay to fly. YIPPEE for driving - never thought I'd say that!!! I do have a question if anyone has dealt with this before, but could my little guy have problems or discomfort while traveling through the mountains?

I'm not sure about the mountains- but my niece had the ol' double ear infection when we flew to Disney in October- she had no trouble at all. She was not quite 2 at the time. However the antibiotics came in handy as we kept catching her licking the handrails.

I thought that I should probably update just in case anyone else would have this question or problem. On the way down my little guy was on antibiotics for 24 hours and when we were driving through Tennessee he had problems and maybe it was because he had a more severe infections... who knows:confused:? He screamed for a little bit complaining of his ears and how they hurt so I just gave him some Motrin and Children's Dramamine and within the half hour he was sleeping again. I am assuming it was the pain from the infection itself because on the way back he had no complaints. Hope this helps anyone if they have this same problem.

Poor little guy, I so can understand your situation. My son (3yo) has chronic ear infections (just had his 2nd set of ear tube put in, tonsils and adenoids removed). If it keeps up, I wonder if your dr would call in antibiotic ear drops to help with any outer ear infection. The double dose really helps clear things up and get a handle on the mess. If nothing else - maybe Donald will give him an extra big hug :)
