My family will be flying into Orlando on the 22nd of August, and leaving on August 29th. How many days of the DDP will we get? I don't know if you count the arrival and departure days as part of the ddp.

It is based on the number of nights booked. You are staying for 7 nights so you would purchase 7 days of the DDP per person. Are you using any discounts? If not keep your eyes and ears posted the first week of April for free dining. No guarantee that it will be offered, but it was the past couple of years for that week you are going. They have typically opened free dining around the 1st of April for Disney Visa cardholders and then open to the general public a few days after that. Watch these boards as that promotion usually creates quite a commotion at that time. A lot of fun really. You will have to see if the cost of dining (if it is free) outweighs any discounts you may currently have attached to your reservation. If free dining is offered, I believe you would have to re-book the entire booking first and then cancel your existing ressie. Anyway, if dining is free, you would each get 7 days of the DDP, or you will purchase it for that number of days. Hope this helps
P.S. You just have to use all your dining credits by the end of the day on your check-out day. So if you arrive late on your first day, say in the evening, you can still use dining credits on check-out day.

It's all based on number of nights. If my math is correct :teacher: you will have 7 TS, 7QS and 7 snacks!

Better start planning! If they offer free dining during this period, you will want to have your ADR's made ASAP!

Thanks! I'm booking all of my ADR's on Tuesday, which will be my 180 day mark. I've been told by different people that if the free DDP is offered that I can call Disney and, if still available, they will take off the DDP that I'd already paid for. Any truth to that?

Off topic...GOOAALLLL U.S.A hockey!!! 4-2 lead over Canada!

Discounts, like free dining, are tied to filling up resort rooms. If you are in a resort that is already filled, then they might not have rooms blocked out with free dining.

You have to be flexible. As soon as free dining is offered, or if you get lucky enough to get a pin code - you have to call and find out first what is available in your resort. You may have to move to another resort, in order to get free dining.

If you do, then you will get the difference in the package - but you must do it at least 45 days before your check-in, or you pay a penalty for changing your reservation.

You have to see how the numbers work for you.

My family and I will be there the same time frame. I just made all my adr's this morning. Maybe we will be eating at some of the same restaurants..
We are doing:
Ohana (B)
Ohana (D)
Cindy's Royal Table (D) 2 credits
Whispering Canyon Cafe (D)
Cape May Cafe (D)
Chef Mickey's (D)

My DD is a very pickey eater, so we are safe with buffets. Good luck on your dining reservations.
