Hi all,
I'm heading to New Orleans next weekend for a half marathon, but planning on checking out the Dreams Come True exhibit? I can't wait after having heard Julie and Cory's review.
Any tips on NOMA? Parking, meals, etc.
Also, I know there's a fee for the special exhibit but what about the museum in general?
Thanks!

There is no charge for parking. It is side of the street parking.
I didn't pay attention to what it cost for the regular museum. Sorry!
I would say get there early. We were there a few minutes before they opened and were all alone at the museum for the first few minutes. I would say to make sure to catch the movie before the exhibit. A lot of people seemed to skip it. I went with my 6 and 9 year old sons. We spent about 2 and 1/2 hours in the exhibit. Leave time to slowly explore and read.

Hi,
I believe admission to the general museum is free, there is just a charge for entrance to the Dreams Come True exhibit ($16 adults. $10 kids). For Louisiana residents, the exhibit costs even less.
You may already be aware of this, but I thought I would mention that the museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. It sounds like you'll be visiting over a weekend so it shouldn't be a problem, but I didn't want you to have an unpleasant surprise.
Enjoy the marathon and the exhibit!
