We just moved to a new house and we finally have Rogers in our house now. We got the tv's going, the phones and the internet hooked up. I wasn't here when the guy did the computer connecting and it is somewhat different than when we were at our old house.

The problem is that I have wireless and I just can't get it to work with the laptop. I have a modem, a router, and some other box that I assume is to plug the phone into if we want one in this room or else it is just something new that I have no idea what it is! No instructions were left - obviously didn't test to see if it was working on the computer - ticks me off how they just connect, hardly say two words to you and then leave!

Anyways ... I have unplugged the internet connection to my laptop (connected to the modem) and put it into the internet slot on my router. Tells me I have an excellent signal strength for that wireless network and says we are connected. Then when I try to go to the interenet or to my email it says there is a connection missing! What is this connection? or is there some setting I need to change on my computer? I would like to move my laptop elsewhere in the house - like now when the kids are playing outside - and I cant' connect. It is frustrating me!!

Anyone that can help with these haphazard descriptions??? If you can I'd be sooooooooooooooooooooo appreciative!!!!!!!!!!!

in the lower right of the screen , hit the monitor icon, should show connectible connections.
if not hit refresh connections in upper left in the box.
you will see your connection back in the list . click. might ask for your password . enter, you should be good to go .

if this doesnt work, you have to dump your connection. reboot everything...

let me know. i can walk you threw the dump.
