So we got our ME tags a few weeks ago. Why are they now only sending one luggage tag per person in the traveling party? This is our 5th trip in 5 years and we have always received two ME tags per person. Any idea what's going on?

Maybe they figure most people won't want to PAY to check two bags.

They started doing this last year with all of the airline changes. I believe you can call the number inside the ME booklet to request more tags.

I think it's to save money on printing costs. I also think most people only check 1 piece of luggage now that it costs to check your luggage.

You can call them and request more tags if you need them. That's what a friend of mine did and she got them within a week.

We generally take 3-4 bags. Which there is only 3 of us I can't really figure out why so much luggage!!!!! Actually I realize the 4th bag is usually toiletries and healthy snacks.

I should call them and ask for a few more just to be safe.

Unless you fly Southwest and don't have to pay for checked bags, I sure wouldn't pay the 2nd checked bag fee to bring snacks or toiletries! American now charges $25 for the first checked bag and $35 for the second one. For not much more than $35 you can rent a car at MCO and go shopping for snacks and toiletries.

I guess that's a thought. There is a TON of stuff in our toiletry bag that I could probably switch into a carry one...medications, hairbands, brushes, makeup, etc. Then I could just put DD and I into one suitcase and that would cut us down to 3 suitcases.

We booked our flight months ago so we will be grandfathered in at the $20 per bag price for American. Thank goodness!

Save paper, save a tree, reduce waste having to be hauled and going into landfills.

Random checks of baggage delivered to the rooms must have suggested that on average guests tended to use just one tag per person.

Good point! I will have to remember that if I am ever tempted to overpack.

I fly US Air. Since they started charging, I have only gone on short trips with a carry-on. When I fly to WDW in December, I will have to pay for a bag. And it will be only one bag for the 7 - 10 day trip!

It must depend on what airline because we are flying Southwest and received two tags each. I was surprised because I was all ready to only get one each (which would have been more than enough.)

Since Southwest passengers can check two bags for free, maybe Disney figures THOSE people will load up on the luggage!:lmao:
