I am looking into renting some points for when we go. We are not a DVC member but looking at the prices, it looks like we can save money and stay somewhere nicer. How does it work for renting points. If someone's renting points for $10 and we need 242, we just pay $2420? Also, if free dining comes out for when we're there, are we eligible for that? Thanks in advance:love:

That's basically how it works - but there are some important nuances in the process. Please review the information threads stuck at the top of the Rent/Trade Board - there are some very good suggestions there about renting.

"Free" dining is an incentive offered, at times, to encourage reservations thru Disney. Unless you can find a member willing to offer that, it is usually only available for reservations made directly thru DRC. It is NOT a DVC program.

Good luck with your rental. Be sure to use due diligence before sending any money though. :)

thanks, I read the info, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be charged more later on or something....It sounded to good to be true to be able to stay in a nice place for cheaper! by the way, what should we look for when renting? I work hard to get good deals and don't want to be taken :) Thanks!
