I'm running Goofy again in January, and I've decided to race the half, and enjoy the full. In order to race that half, I would like to be in one of the higher starting corrals than G.
My question is, what kind of time do you need to get into Corral C, for example? I did the half in 2:20 last year, but I don't think that will move me up too much. What kind of time do I need in a half or 10k to get my desired starting place?
As always, any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Goofed98 Just looked at my bib from 2009 (so not this past year) and I was in Corral B. I had put on my registration a 2:15 time and had submitted a 10k result of 54:48 (give or take a second or two) as a qualifying time.
Don't know what this year's half placements were like.

For 2010, I used a 2:15 half for proof of time and that put me into C. I got moved further up but did see a lot of people in corral C catching up and passing.

Odd... I had put a 2:15 finish for the half and ended up in corral D. (My best proof I had at registration time, though, was a 10k in 62 minutes)
Your 2:20 finish will move you up considerably. If you get a good half in between now and then, bring proof with you to the expo and ask to move up more.

My times were 2:00 and 4:00 for the half and full, and I think I was in corral C on Saturday and corral B on Sunday. I'm not sure that moving up to C will help you race the half all that much. The course is pretty narrow in a lot of places, especially shortly after the start and going through Magic Kingdom, making it difficult to work your way through or around the crowd. I'm not saying you can't race it, just that it'll be difficult to get a PR on that course.
