View Full Version : Nothing Important, but I am Annoyed.

In the grand scheme of things, this is no big deal, but it's very annoying to me.

My absolute favorite Yankee candle is Green Grass. I can't stand the sweet baking scents or many of the floral, but Green Grass was great, it smelled just like when someone is mowing the lawn.

Well, they discontinued it and I cannot find anything that smells the same. I have tried different companies and some of the homemade sellers on ebay, but I just got another one today and it's nice, but not as good as Green Grass. I have a precious two Green Grass tealights left and then I'm Green Grassless. :sad1: I did write to Yankee, I got the "due to customer demand" spiel. I hate when a company discontinues a product you love. :guilty:

Two words:

Trader Joe's.

They are the kings of discontinued items. Someone posted a parody song on YouTube about Trader Joe's that I just love, mentioning all sorts of products "you can't find anymore."

Good luck finding something to replace the green grass smell!

I think they made a newer candle with almost the same scent. If you have an actual "Yankee Candle" store, see if a slaes clerk can help. It may be that the second second is also gone, not sure.

I do have a Yankee store and I have asked, they tell me now they have Dune Grass, only similarity is that is has "grass" in the name. One clerk told me she gets the most inquiries about Green Grass and they do notify Yankee of this so maybe it will come back one day. I was hopeful when their new "spring" scents came out, but no luck.

I agree with you. I loved a scent called Sunday Drive. It had a grassy scent. It of course was discontinued. I did find a scent by Yankee that was similar.

I keep checking when they release vintage scents from Yankee. I was successful in one scent that my daughter loved so I still hold out hope.

Keep checking the factory page of Yankee candle for any updates.

I love the smell of cut grass! I didn't even think there would be a candle with that and now it has been discontinued!! Maybe they still have them over here - I will look....

I remember Sunday Drive. It was a favorite of my cousin. I bought it for her a couple times. She is into one of their beach scents now.

And I didn't know they released vintage scents. That is good to know! How do they work? Are they released at any certain time or do you just have to keep checking?

I remember them releasing the vintage scents in the fall but I could be wrong. I was lucky enough to be able to visit the factory several times a year for quite a while. I miss that.

They used to have a scent called Tuscan Cypress that was the closest to fresh cut grass. If it is still current give it a try. I still have one of the fresh cut grass candles because I think that is the best smell ever.

I did a quick Google search and found this (http://www.sierramtncandles.com/fresh-grass-scented-candle-p-100.html).

Thanks so much. I am going to give Sierra Mountain candles a try!

Fresh cut grass is the best smell ever! I also like Clean Cotton and Sunwashed Linen, but nothing beats fresh cut grass. I like to use it to help chase away winter blues. When it's gray and dreary outside it's the best pick me up.

Yes, I've been tempted but the shipping most of those people want is just outrageous. Even for the tealights. I may cave one day though.
