DH has just given the thumbs up to a February 2003 trip - woo hoo! We are looking at heading down on or right before 2/12/03 -- the LAST day of the value season -- then 2/13 begins peak season. We want to stay 8 nights. It is my understanding that as long as a I check in during value season, even if I stay into peak I will still get value reates - is that correct?

Next, we are DC members & will book through DC. I will keep my eyes open in the future to see if codes come out or I would even become an AP holder if the net discount was better than DC/Codes. Is having my ressie straddling two seasons (value & peak) going to cause a problem if I want to take advantage of a code or AP rate that may come out latter?

Mousesavers mentioned that changing a DC ressie to a code ressie is sometimes tricky - has anyone had any experience with this? I will be doing this myself, I do not want to us a travel agent this time.

Oh, I should mention I am looking at POR - we were just at WDW in April at AKL savannah & want to try a moderate this time. The trip would be me, DH & DS (2 years old at travel time).

Thanks in advance for any input. I lived at these boards before our last trip & learned so much!

We changed a DC reservation to a code reservation through CRO for our trip in January. We called CRO when the codes came out and made a new reservation. Then we gave the CM our DC reservation # and had our original deposit transferred to the new reservation.

We paid the original deposit by check -- I think if you pay by credit card, you have to make a new deposit on the reservation and have the original deposit credited back. ???

Hope this helps!

we checked in to POR on 2/13 (actually it ended up being at 1:30 a.m. on 2/14!!!), the last day of value season. We were given that rate for our whole stay.
