Alright, Alright - after over a year on the boards, scouring every post for countless hours every day, and asking question after question from all the experts on here, I've finally decided to commit, and actually start my PJ.

I feel like I am starting this very late, as most of my plans are made, but I figure for all those last minute details I may need some followers to help me along the way - so c'mon ladies, opinions are welcome (some of you have likely already flamed me for some of my fairly controversial ideas)...but I'm a big girl - I can take it!:rotfl: If there is one thing I never lose it's my sense of humor!

Alright - so where to begin....ah yes:

The cast and crew....
Me: Kelly, a 32 year old very stubborn, fun-loving, sometimes crazy, control freak, over-the-top Disney lover.
DFi: Adrian, 26 (almost 27 - yes I am a cradle robber and proud of it) year old hilarious, goofy, musically talented, definitely not a control freak, easygoing, good natured, wonderful, also over-the-top Disney lover (lucky for him)
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/Disney_2008_2141.jpg
Us at WCC being fools as usual...

MOH: My neice Jordan, 16 years old next month, the serious and quiet one, also an over-the-top Disney lover.
"Bestie" (short for best girl/woman/or a fairly inappropriate term I used once but shall not repeat): My niece Sara, 14 years old (and considers Adrian to be about the most awesome human being around and thus why she is standing with him)...she is the fun loving, silly, goofy, sensitive, and bratty one of the group ;)
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/DisneyPhotoImage57.JPG
Jordan is the taller one, Sara is the other one in the photo that is NOT Minnie Mouse...

Our Story
My passion for Disney has been going on basically my entire life, but really seemed to heighten in 2003. I had just come out of a very long and horrible relationship for which I had moved across the country from my family and friends for 6 years (i know - weird thing to post on my wedding PJ but it's a part of what brought me here today...). After we split I moved back to my hometown of 14000 people (Yarmouth, Nova Scotia for anyone who wants to google it) and a month later went on an epic Disney trip that my sister had organized for 17 family members. That trip changed, and pretty much saved my life...On that trip I made a few promises to myself....as cheesy as this may sound the first time I stood in front of the castle and watched Wishes, tears streaming down my face I thought to myself "Never again will I shortchange myself....I will never allow someone to be a part of my life that cannot appreciate how lucky I am to have this amazing family, and to have this kind of tie to them." My family are the most wonderful people in the world...I am close to my mom, both of my sisters, and their 4 children. Many people are not this lucky and I felt like that trip was the first time I had truly acknowledged and understood it. I knew from that day on that if I could not find someone who fit with all of us, then it would not be worth it for me...

Fast forward...Adrian and I met at the call center where we were both working at the time, me as a Trainer and him as a Help Desk Agent and Supervisor sometime in 2004 or 2005....I can't remember because we didn't really talk until 2007 (call centers are weird that way).

One night I was at home and he had "game night" on his MSN status (I am a huge board game freak) so I sent him a message asking what game he was playing, it turned out it was NOT the type of game that I expected at all but a geeky online game - (maybe some of you have heard of WoW??) that he played with his friends....anyways we struck up this very strange and random conversation... turns out we had both just gone through some very heavy-duty life changes and were ready for a fresh start. We talked pretty much constantly for the next few weeks, and lo and behold....3 years later here we are planning a Disney wedding (there's more to the story but I don't want to give it all away yet).

Well not only did I totally fall for him but so did my family - lucky guy, eh? He really is that guy who just "fits" with us!

Our first Disney Trip Together
So a bit more background....I'm not the only Disney Nut in my family....there is also my sister, my mom, and Jordan and Sara. All girls you may notice....due to some disastrous circumstances with family vacations prior to Adrian coming into my life we had kind of decided to leave the "boys" out of our Disney trips - forever. (and I DO mean disastrous...like imagine sharing a room with your mother and step father and him deciding not to speak to you for 8 days of the trip....that kind of disastrous...lol)...and for any guys out there reading this - I am NOT saying that men can't have fun at Disney - I am saying the men in OUR family had never been able to do it before!

So in 2008 my sister and I talked it over and said - OK here is the true test...we're going to bend our "no boys" rule and take Adrian to Disney with us and just see what happens. Little did he know this was a "make it or break it" situation. Not that I'm saying I would dump him if he did poorly on this trip - he just would never have been able to come on our Disney trips with us again (which are now at least annual if not twice annual trips)...so it was a big deal.

That trip was Adrian's first time ever on a plane, and turned out to be one of the most fantastic trips we had ever taken...it was kind of a done deal after that. He was so fun to have around, and on an all-girls trip at that! he was good natured, funny, and if anything entertained us in any lineups that were even moderately long....so yeah, he's a keeper. Luckily he caught the Disney bug too! We even got matching bright green t-shirts (which we are wearing in the above photo) which I will say he wore without even blinking an eye.

The Engagement
So this one is interesting, cause there wasn't an actual "pop the question" moment...we both knew where our relationship was headed, but I think the kicker that kind of made us look at it more seriously (or at least made me look at it more seriously) was the song he wrote me for Valentine's day 2009. He recorded it on our computer, doing the vocals, guitar, harmony, etc...it's amazing!

It is called Blue Sky and all I can post is the lyrics cause I don't think you can post music on here...at least I've never seen it. It's by far the nicest thing any man has ever done for me in my life!

Link to song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sCxI9YJBZM) (Added May 21)

Blue Sky
I'm so sad when i wake up
turn my head and you're not here now
cause you're at work now...

And I know sadness hits me when I call
to hear your voice but all i get now
is your stupid voicemail

But I know.....
You're my blue sky
silver lining
grass is greener
wherever you're standing
I wanna be standing
next to you

Happiness is waking up
close to you with nowhere to go now
and nothing to do now
And I know
happiness is when I can
run my fingers thru your hair now
again and again now

And I know...
Youre my blue sky
silver lining
grass is greener
wherever youre standing
I wanna be standing
with you

I don't need to impress you
I don't mean to stare
it's just that I'm so lucky
you're so into me...

You're my blue sky
silver lining
grass is greener
wherever you're standing
I wanna be standing
next to you

Someday soon I'll say i do
turn my head and look at you now
and you'll say it too now
And then I'll know
I am yours and you are mine
let's grow old and go to Disney
and ride the tower of terror...

Cause we both know, we both know
you're my blue sky (chorus until fade)

What happened Next?
So a couple of weeks after that, we were lazing around the house one day and I just said casually (and I was NOT being serious at the time) "Hey honey - we should get married at Disney" - he replied with an emphatic "YES - we SHOULD do that!"

and so the planning begins.....

Here is where we're at so far:
Date: September 22, 2010 (just confirmed the date last week)
Location: Wedding Pavillion (changed to SBP April 30)
Color Scheme: Brights - Teal, Hot Pink, Orange, Yellow
Cake: Hidden Mickey Mad Hatter in colors above
Flowers: Tossed up between simple Calla Lily bouquet, but in the process of changing my mind to Orange and Pink Gerbera Daisies with bright yellow roses...(Decided on the daisies)
Added Brunch (April 30): Tentatively thinking about The Attic
Dinner: Hoop-De-Doo Revue (more on this later)
DP: Sago Cay (changed to Upper UK Terrace EPCOT)
Photographer: Randy Chapman
Videography: STVS
Makeup/Hair: Patricia LeJeune
Rings: Custom made Mickey Mouse wedding bands - bought in October
Dress: bought in October - pics in next post
Tux: Renting a plain black tux, buying a teal vest/tie to match MOH dress
MOH Dress: Bought 2 weeks ago, pics to follow
Bestie: Wearing black bermuda shorts or capris, a white tuxedo shirt, and tailoring a vest and tie to match the groom, no jacket. Hair floral instead of boutiniere.
Honeymoon: 4 day cruise (my family is going on it too) on the Wonder, and 3 more days at Disney after the cruise just the 2 of us, so in total 2 weeks. (added 2 additional days at the end - so 16 days total now)

Here is my dress...the pics are awful because my friend convinced me that it would be dumb to take pictures with my actual camera (we used my BB) because Adrian might see them...and here I am posting them on a public forum hoping he doesn't figure out how to look me up on the disboards - LOL

I feel like my life revolves around countdowns these days. I bought into DVC on my August Trip, the tipping point for me was the wedding trip. We have agreed to pay for his mom and Dad's rooms, food, and park tickets...as they normally wouldn't go to Disney like my family would. So I bought 200 pts at BLT (not a spur of the moment decision - I had been considering it for some time). This will allow us to splurge on really nice rooms, they are the types of people that may only do a trip like this once in a lifetime, so i want to make it really special....

I have debated on this long and hard and went from being totally set on a 2 bdrm to realizing that it'll be nice to have privacy so I want 2 studios instead...I booked a 1 bdrm at BLT as a "just in case" at the 11 month mark, but today is the day I can change my ressie!! I am hoping for 2 standard studios at BWV, but that's doubtful, so my second choice is studio at AKV, third is OKW. Hopefully the pixie dust is plentiful today. I'll let you all know how I make out later today.

We also love going in September - the weather is a bit less rainy than August, and normally we go right before F&W so it works out really well, crowd wise!

Thanks for the feedback - I have looked at countless photos in the past year, and she really seems to have a knack with the "natural look" yet seems to also do hair and makeup that has staying power - perfect for me!

I am so over the moon excited about this! We will be staying in my first choice of BW Standard view studios for the week of the wedding, BLT on the night before in a 1 bdrm with the bridal party. I can't believe we got 2 standard view studios at one of the busiest DVC resorts! I feel totally sprinkled in pixie dust right now!

So more on our story later - but I love that I now have a place to post these little bits of awesomeness as they come up...not only did I get my first choice in resort reservations this morning, but I got my second edition on my newsletter back from my graphic designer friend today (I can't figure out how to convert the file to post it but I will soon), AND I got a call from Amy! She is my assigned planner - I am so friggin excited right now! It feels like after months and months of waiting things are finally happening - OMG this is amazing.

So I just had to post this little rant cause HOLY it's been a good day!

Thanks for reading and posting ladies! It makes this so much more fun! I've kind of secretly idolized most of you from afar for the past year so it's kind of cool that now you are finally here reading MY story :cheer2:

Oh and here's the first newsletter that I sent out about 6 months ago to get people in the right mindframe, and to get them to start planning their trips:

http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/662/Image001.jpg

http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/662/Image0021.jpg

http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/662/Image0031.jpg

http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/662/Image004.jpg

As you read that newsletter you may have noticed that my "reception" choice is very untraditional...I got flamed so badly at one point on these boards for even daring to suggest that it's OK to have an "optional" reception at HDDR where guests would use their own dining plan credits or even pay for their ticket that I almost a) stopped posting and b) changed my plan.

Well the funny part is I talked it over with my family who basically said "Are you nuts??? OF COURSE we would pay for our tickets!!! It's CRAZY to suggest that you pay for everyone - you've got enough on your plate right now!"

So again - although I may seem crazy to some people - it's all in staying true to who you are and doing what's right for yourself...and this was right for us. We are not exactly in a great place financially right now - it's not the ideal time to be planning a wedding but it's what we decided to do. In fact right around the time we decided to get married at Disney, Adrian decided to go to school, so we began living on one income - not ideal at all with a wedding in the works. But we just have decided to get creative and do what we have to do to make it work for us...and if that means saving $1200 on dinner so that we can have a $2000 dessert party then so be it, I can live with that and so can my guests.

daisygirl902

I was thinking last night about how much this plan had morphed since the start....here is what I envisioned a year ago, and how/why it changed:

Wedding was to be held at SBP, with dinner to follow at Ohana. Dress was to be a cocktail length simple white dress, and I wanted a Morocco DP. We were planning to stay at POP Century, as that was where we always stayed...

Here's how and why it changed....
The first change came after I had pored over a million photos and decided to hire Randy Chapman for photography...soon after I started looking into videography and decided Stan (STVS) was also a great fit. I got Stan's sample DVD in the mail, and we sat down and watched it, and there was a wedding on it in the WP (which i had always considered too big and too conventional for the type of wedding I wanted)....When I saw that couple getting married with the view of the castle through the window I was IN LOVE!! The other bonus to the WP is that it is inside AND air conditioned!

SO - after we had changed the location I decided that a simple cocktail length dress just was NOT going to do - and thus changed to a big pouffy, sparkly dress. I'm REALLY happy I made this change - I am in love with my dress (I'll take better pics when I go for a fitting).

I had decided on Ohana based on the rave reviews on these boards, but went last summer for the first time, and I was sorely disappointed....I mean, it wasn't horrible, but I didn't love the food! I DO however LOVE HDDR - so I talked it over with my sister Candi (my resident expert) and she wholeheartedly agreed that HDDR was a great choice for us - we are pretty fun loving and crazy, so I think it'll be a blast!

The dessert party also changed, for a few reasons:
1. I love wishes! And I mean LOVE wishes...
2. I saw this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2177083 - the blue fairy firework is my favorite - I cry everytime she lights up the sky - the picture of Heidi and Tom totally won me over on this being the right location for us....
3. I found out about the cheesecake lollipops - lol....what more do I have to say?
3. Randy can come and do the photos....which I love!

And the last change was the biggest - accommodations! I know I mentioned that things are not ideal financially right now, however I am a long term thinker - so on my trip with my mom this summer I finally took the leap and purchased DVC - we had already decided we would pay for his parents accommodations as a part of our "wedding budget planning" - and when I found out how much better it would be to do this using DVC points it just clicked and made sense...have I questioned my horrible timing? Yes - I probaby should have waited until Adrian is done school and the wedding is done....Do I regret it? Not even for a second - it's something I would have eventually done anyways. So we are now staying at BWV as I posted yesterday - for our first DVC stay!

Thanks for reading - more to come, but for now I gotta go to work to start paying for some of this stuff! :rotfl:

I got my wedding shoes today - thanks to my wonderful sister Candi! She called me at work to tell me about these fantastic HOT PINK shoes that she found to go with Jordan's dress...so i went out and bought myself a matching pair....I love the thought of my princessy white dress with the hot pink stilettos peeking out occasionally....so another YAY moment!

I am in the midst of a few debates and not sure what to do or how to make some of these decisions...one is the officiant and the second is the WP decor.

For the officiant I am looking for someone to do a non-religious ceremony that has a good sense of humor and is pretty easygoing....I have some more research to do before I make this decision because to me, it can make or break the day!

For the WP decor the decision will be purely financial...if I can budget it in I would like to get some altar florals, as well as possibly an aisle runner...the only thing I hate about the WP is the carpet - and I really, really don't like it! however I have read that aisle runners can be very expensive too....these small decisions can be costly, and it's getting hard to figure out what the biggest priorities are. So far on my "wish list" of things I am not sure if I can fit in are:

1. Aisle runner
2. Confetti Cannon - 2nd choice would be toss petals...but I am so hung up on the cannons!
3. Floral decor

Any feedback or suggestions welcome! This Is a collaborative effort you know!

More tomorrow I'm sure....there seems to be a never ending stream of "wedding narrative" that runs through my head at every moment!

We wanted floral in the WP too but ultimately we decided the WP is beautiful on it's own and we wouldn't spend the money on floral for 20 minutes. Plus our floral would not be able to travel to our reception site. So if it's something that you can use for both, then it might be cost effective. We are having a white aisle runner ($75) and pink rose petals on the aisle ($300). We had picked out these great arrangements for next to the altar but when they added up to $750 we nixed them.

Do you have any ideas??Post pics!!

02-20-2010, 12:32 PM
I agree with Mandy... I think the WP can be lovely without any added floral. I love the pictures of the confetti cannons, very cool! I think I personally am fixated on the petal toss, but the confetti definitely makes for some awesome pictures! Good luck with whatever you decide, keep us posted!

daisygirl902

Thanks for the advice ladies - I really don't know that I can consider the $400 for the aisle runner plus petals....especially when for that price I could stick with my original dream of having the confetti cannon! I am going to work later to try to get a compilation of pics that I like for a bit of floral, especially altar arrangements, and I'll just have to live with the carpet!

Here's a pic of the shoes I picked up yesterday - I am in LOVE with them! So Jordan and I will both be wearing these:

Just so you know, we determined the amount of petals on the aisle. THe runner was $75 and we chose to have $300 worth of petals. You could ask for less or bring your own. If you bring your own then someone has to put it out for you.

Ohh I love your shoes... Then again, I had almost exactly the same ones :rotfl: So great choice :lmao:

I too hate the carpet in the WP, but didn't want to spring for the aisle runner - for me it was because I was afraid I would trip on it as well as the cost... And honestly, in the pictures that I have, you don't see the carpet on the aisle at all. There are a few that show it at the front... but I figure if people are looking at the carpet instead of me... I'm doing something really wrong :rotfl:

I know I was freaking out about it, but on the day I would have been hard pressed to tell you what the carpet looked like - even though I was standing right there.

What we did was have a linen on the alter, which brought the attention there instead of on the floor. We had floral next to the alter (only because we were able to move it to our reception site), but just our unity candle set actually on it.

Okay I'll get off my soapbox now, and sit back and enjoy the rest of your planning...

Your newsletter is awesome too! really enjoying everything...

So I decided to take a step back today from the small details and go back to the overall plan. i am thinking by the way that I will not do anything about the carpet, I can live with it, and do a sand ceremony - below is the set I'm ordering, with our 2 colors...he went with orange and I went with pink - luckily our favorite colors look great together :)

http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/uploads/226554/sand.JPG

I think for Altar floral I am going to price 2 small arrangements to put on either side of the sand ceremony, both hot pink and orange daisy bouquets in a very simple vase. I haven't found a picture I really like, but I just want kind of a round ball of daisies.

So onto...The Trip
We leave NS on Sept 18th, staying until the 25th in 2 studios at BWV (us in one, his parents in the second). We are all on the DDP, and have decided that we are going to pay cash for HDDR (we want level 1 seating, and it's WAY easier to organize for a large group!) so we have a great line up of desired ADRs to book next month! On the 25th we check out of BWV, and his parents leave, and we check into a king room Dolphin for 1 night. Then on the 26th we leave for a 4 day cruise on the Wonder! When we get back, we are staying for our last 3 nights at our "home resort" BLT for 3 nights in a studio, and doing the Deluxe Dining Plan! We are pretty excited as this allows us to try a few extra signature dining places.

ADRS for week 1:
Tutto Italia
WCC
Teppan Edo
Ahershus Princess Breakfast
Flying Fish
Tony's Town Square
The Wave (OOP)

ADRs for Deluxe Dining Plan:
The Plaza (lunch)
Narcossees
Kona (breakfast)
Cinderella's Royal Table
The Wave (breakfast)
California Grill

MMMM - I can't wait!

Wedding Day Plan:
Jordan, Sara and I are staying in a 1 bdrm at BLT the night before the wedding, we plan to order room service for breakfast, and start hair and makeup by around 8 or 8:30 AM.

We will head over to GF via monorail (I'm going to get Randy/Stan to go over ahead of me so they can get pics/video of us getting off the monorail). I plan to get a few pics around the lobby prior to the wedding. Also I will then send Sara off to get some pics taken with Adrian prior to the ceremony.

Ceremony is at noon...cake cutting and family pics....Mickey and Minnie ARE coming! I am so excited!

Then our guests get to go off and do their thing for a couple of hours....Adrian, Jordan, Sara and I are going to go off for more pics at POP Century and BW. Although I am a DVC member POP is still my favorite resort for theming, so we will likely spend a bit of time over there....and we want some really fun pics at BW too, like us all playing the carnival games and stuff all dressed up.

At 4 - 4:30 PM we will head over to Hoop De Doo. If we have time we'll go on the horse drawn carriage ride,if not we'll just chill out for a few minutes. Randy is not staying for dinner, but is coming back for the DP later.

After dinner we will slowly head over to Sago Cay for the DP. I am thinking of doing a modified menu, but not sure of the cost yet:
-mini napoleons, macaroons, key lime tarts, and cream horns
-Chocolate and White chocolate fondue with all of the normal dippers PLUS the cheesecake lollipops
-Chocolate covered strawberries (maybe)
-Coffees and hot chocolate

Anyways - off to make "breakfast" - we slept in today!

**Spoiler Alert** For those attending my wedding these have not been printed and mailed yet, so you are ruining the surprise if you read them!

For everyone else, this is long - the 2nd newsletter is less about the wedding, and more about planning a good Disney Trip. We have a few people joining us that have never been, and I am a firm believer that Disney requires planning....oh and I just realized this says Spring 2009 - guess that should be changed....good thing I haven't printed these yet!

I also tried to put as much info as possible on my wedding website as DF's family has never really "planned" a Disney trip they have gone for a day or two here and there while in the area.

I decided this weekend to try to get her booked - one more thing off my list :)

daisygirl902
02-22-2010, 04:20 PM
I am sorry to say that the endless details are all getting worked out now....what the heck am I going to write about then???

I just got off the phone with Amy - who I love by the way! We made a few more decisions:

Cake(s)
2 tiered hidden mickey mad hatter cake (style doesn't matter - I have loved them all) in teal, orange, yellow, and hot pink. They can't do fresh berries in a mad hatter cake as it can't support them properly, so I changed it around a bit:
-top layer is chocolate cake with peanut butter cup filling with white butter cream (they can't do chocolate butter cream as it may show thru the fondant).
-bottom layer is yellow cake with strawberry mousse filling with white buttercream icing.

I am also getting a mini mad hatter cake for one guest who is allergic to nuts - his will be chocolate with strawberry filling and buttercream.

Officiant
I cheated and made Amy pick - although she picked my first choice, Reverand Jack Day. She actually said her top 3 are Reverand Jack, Timm Herring, and Kevin Knox....but I made her narrow it down as I cannot pick...I can't meet them and I know she has. She is great to work with!

I contacted Reverand Jack and he was sweet over the phone - although I ended up emailing him the info as it was just easier....repeated back the postal code wrong 3 times so we just laughed and agreed email was better.

Music
Groom and Bestie Entrance - Something from Pirates (haven't picked the song yet)
MOH entrance - Chorus of "You'll be in my Heart"
My entrance - "When you wish upon a star" (hopefully they can play the Wishes version - I love how it starts so dramatically)
Sand Ceremony - either "A whole new world" or "Can you feel the love tonight"
Processional - "Zip a Dee Doo Dah"

And for the cake cutting anything goes, as long as it's Disney!

Details, Details
I am a non drinker, so we are having the 2 bottles of cider instead of the champagne, as well as 4 bottles of Perrier for the toasts. We are having my best friend do a "toast to the bride" and his best friend do a "toast to the groom".

I am seriously leaning towards the confetti cannon....I think I am about 90% decided...I think what I'll do is have her add it on to my estimate, see where I come in and go from there....really the only upgrades that I want are the cake which is only $150, the perrier (which I didn't ask "how much" - it's probably $100 a bottle - lol), and some pretty basic floral.

Amy is going to book the dessert party, then revise my contract and send me menus to choose from...although I may as well just accept the fact that I am going to want a custom menu....since I know you CAN I likely WILL! :rotfl:

Thanks for reading!

I love your shoes! Mine are bright pink as well! The newsletters look amazing, what a great job! I'm a big fan of the mad hatter as well! When we finally decided to get that one, I just said, I don't care what style, just a mad hatter :rotfl: I think we are just getting the original style one that disney does.

The confetti canon would be AMAZING!! I am going to be a bad influence (or expensive influence) and say do it!

I am excited to see what you pick for the DP!

I'm lucky - my boss's husband is a graphic designer so he did my newsletters for me as an early wedding gift - it was so nice of him - they turned out so good!

And thanks for the confetti cannon advise...I figure why be sensible - it's my Disney WEDDING!

Ok so Candi is right - I DID say long before I even had a groom that I wanted a confetti cannon at me wedding...so here's what I'm going to do...I am going to add it to my plans, and if I have to cut anything, that will be what I cut.

So for now the confetti cannon is a GO! :cheer2:

by the way, that's french for "of the day" - :rotfl:

Photo Possibilities
I spent all yesterday obsessing about the "extras" you can add on....I have always been slightly obsessed with TTD shoots, especially at the Water Parks...however luckily Amy crushed my hopes on that one yesterday....you can't have a TTD water park shoot at Typhhon Lagoon while the Wave Pool is running....and to me that's the money shot. So I think that one is back on the back burner.

I AM however slightly obsessed with a MK shoot now...I mean - when else can you be in MK all by yourselves, and have your pics taken in so many great spots in your wedding gear??? The downside of course, is the fact that it's $1100....as well as the fact that it's at the freaking crack of dawn! i am far from a morning person (and also don't consider myself overly photogenic) so paying the extra kind of scares me....I know what day I'd do it on, the Saturday after the wedding, but not sure if I can "go there"...

The thing that I am starting to think (about all of these extra details) is "will I truly regret not doing this?" - but this can be a slippery slope...that's how I talked myself into the confetti cannons!! And my budget if FAR from unlimited!

Sigh...at least I have time to figure some of this out....maybe once I see how much the floral and DP are going to add up to it will make more sense...

Thanks, the planning is fun! I can't say it doesn't consume WAY too much of my time, but hey - I'm only doing this once...well I guess, unless you count the 10 year VR and the 25 year VR, :rotfl:...

Ask lots of questions on these boards - these ladies are soooo helpful in the process, it's made this whole thing so much more fun.

I'll be sending our plan out to Amy this weekend, the last detail we were working out was the music, here is what we've decided:

Groom Entrance: Whistle Stop (Robin Hood) - We are hoping that they have the sheet music for this...
Jordan's Entrance: You'll be in my Heart (Tarzan)
My Entrance: When you wish Upon a Star (I want the Wishes version)
Sand Ceremony: A whole new world
Processional: Zip a dee doo dah
Cake Cutting: Anything Disney

I have also decided that if Adrian gets accepted into the military (which we should know by April) I am going to book the MK photo shoot AND get my hair and makeup redone for it on the Saturday after the wedding. I think it will be a great treat for us, especailly if we have to get used to living apart for long periods of time! And although I hate the idea of getting up that early I think it's a fantastic experience...and well worth it!

OK so weird that today, just a few hours after I posted the statement above, we would get the call we've been waiting for for months....Adrian has his aptitude test and medical exam (which is the first stages in the Canadian Military recruitment process) booked for later in March!! He got the call today....here's hoping for some magic and pixie dust...not only would it mean a HUGE life change but it also would mean I'm going to get the MK photo shoot!

Kelly, I love all your arrangements. Cindy was trying to decide on the MK photo shoot to. The 1100 is sort of making her choice for her since she is opting for the Carriage ride to the DWP. You are going to have so much fun. The wedding plans sound just like you and the HDDR is perfect!!:cheer2:pixiedust:

It's hard making these choices, that's for sure....luckily I have never added the Carriage to my wish list! WHEW! It's just not me, although I once said that about the MK photo shoot too...

But regardless my budget is at it's max now. I am hoping the floral that I've decided on isn't too expensive, but I am willing to scrap it if I have too.

I'm kind of feeling let down this week cause most of the decisions have now been made....not it's all just a waiting game, counting down to the 6 month mark where I can book my ADRs and HDDR reservation. Sigh...

Ok so I am very excited - things are just falling into place so strangely well right now.

The Accessories
Last night I went and bought the last of my accessories (besides my veil which I am picking next week). I got a great necklace and earring set as well as a Tiara - both at a store at the mall (Le Chateau - not sure if they have any US locations). They have the REALLY sparkly look I was looking for - I am so psyched!

The DRESS!
I got the call today that the dress is here!! YAY! Although I work all this week until they close so won't be able to go in until next week....but at least it's here and I can finally get some better pics to post here :)

Hair and Makeup
I have confirmed the date with Patricia LeJeune, and am waiting for the contract. She is not available for the potential MK shoot so I have 2 options:
1. Have one of her other stylists do my hair and make-up for the MK shoot.
2. Change the MK shoot to Friday instead of Saturday.

As you can tell - I am REALLY hoping that I get to do the MK shoot!

Advice welcome! Has anyone had her assisitants do their hair and make-up? How did it turn out? I can't se eit being that much of an issue, cause we'll just take LOTS of pics on the wedding day for them to recreate the look...

OK so I have been really trying to follow a no-carb, no-sugar diet for the past few months, have taken off about 10 lbs so far...and have been running at least 4 or 5 times a week....then today happened....I discovered Cold Stone Creamery ice cream.....O.M.G...

Best.
Ice Cream.
Ever.

Uh oh - not cool.....and I have to try on my dress tomorrow...and want to take off 10 more lbs before the wedding. ARGGHHH - bad bad deal...I have such a huge weakness for all things sweet. My only saving grace is that if Adrian goes away to basic training I will likely eat like I did when I was single - lots of single serving chicken breasts and veggies....so hopefully I can get back on track...I would think that a wedding would be enough to motivate me not to indulge in amazing ice creamy treats...but nooooooo

Sorry I know this isn't technically wedding related but it's a part of my journey.

I got to try on my dress today with my accessories...the shoes are perfect, and made the dress the perfect length with no alterations! Below are some better pics.

The bow around the waist didn't come with the sample but it came with the actual dress when they ordered it in...I would have never put a bow on this dress, until i tried it on!! It completes the dress and made it look so great!

So I am seriously stressing about the budget....I am hoping I don't have to cut anything but until the other day I had never added up the "little extras" - they come to almost $5000! GASP! Here it is in a nutshell:

Wedding costs:
Wedding $5,750
Flowers $1,000 (guess)
Dessert Party $2,000 (guess)
Confetti Cannon $500
Cake Upgrade $175
MK Photo Shoot $1,100
Total: $10,525 (I have paid $750 so that means $9,775 owing)

Extras:
Videography $215 (This is the balance owing)
Flights $1,000
Dining $1,606
Park Tickets (MIL/FIL) $603
Hair/Makeup $310 (This is the balance owing)
Officiant $200
Veil and crinoline $250
Jewelery $50
Dress Steaming/Tux $250
HDDR $260
Total: $4,744

Needless to say the "little extras" aren't so little....ugh. I am just hoping I can actually fit this all in...I really don't want to have to cut anything now - I have kind of mentally commited to it being this way at this point...

Have I missed anything here? Am I going to shock myself by all of a sudden having something else come up? Sigh...I guess the worst case scenario is that I end up mildly in debt for my dream wedding...which I am willing to do because I can always pay it off - whereas I can't "re-do" this wedding.

K - so i posted yesterday's budget woes in a moment of sheer panic...which I think we all have....technically I have most of the money for the wedding saved already - I think to clarify what scares me is how MUCH all of the "little things" add up to!

I'm not going to "go broke" for the wedding, or pay for it all on credit cards :rotfl:...but I think i always knew at some point i would add it all up and panic a bit...that's kind of what happened this week, that's all...

Thanks for reading - it helps my stress level immensely in moments like the one I had yesterday to just get it out there - especially knowing that many of you have been through this same process!

SPOILER ALERT - for those of you attending the wedding you may not want to read this, as it is the ceremony I am submitting to Reverand Day....it may ruin it for you to read it ahead....

Although that being said I have read it many times and it hasn't ruined it for me :)

Introduction
To the family and friends of Kelly and Adrian, I welcome you here today on this most joyous occasion in order that you may share with them the pledging of their everlasting love and commitment to each other….their wedding day.

They particularly wanted to invite you here because the growth of their love is connected to this place. It has given them a feeling of timelessness and peace, and a sense of the wonder of life.

Presentation of the Bride and Groom

Main Body
The mood of this wedding is one of joy, festivity, and well being. You are here to celebrate your wonderful good fortune and the inevitability of it all, how wonderful it is that you two found each other and how delightful it feels to love one another as much as you do.

Love really is something over which we have no control. We can need it, wish for it, long for it, but all on our own, we cannot insist it into being. Therefore when love finds us, when the person we simply cannot live without crosses our path, it is truly a gift, and the wedding that celebrates this star-fated match is indeed the happiest of occasions.

Love is a miraculous gift and a wedding a celebration of that magic, and that is what we are here for today. We are gathered together, family and friends, to be overjoyed for and with Kelly and Adrian, who are so wonderfully suited to one another, that is pure delight for the rest of us to see just how happy two people can be.

A good marriage is dependant upon many factors, but the first prerequisite is a strong bond of love, friendship, and respect for one another. Your love will grow deeper with the passing of each day, but the genuine liking of each other, the willingness to accept each other’s strong and weak points with understanding and respect will be a very important part of this union.

A good marriage must be created.
In marriage the little things are the big things.

It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day.

It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted;
the courtship should not end with the honeymoon.
It should continue through all the years.

It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is doing things for each other,
not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice,
but in the spirit of joy.

It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating
gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is not expecting the husband to wear a halo
or the wife to have wings of an angel.
It is not looking for perfection in each other.

It is cultivating flexibility, patience,
understanding and a sense of humor.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.

It is finding room for the things of the spirit.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal,
dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal.
It is not only marrying the right partner,
it is being the right partner.

Vows
And so it is, the two of you, Kelly and Adrian, have come here today with your family and friends, the people you most cherish, to signify your desire to be united in marriage.

I ask that you face each other and join hands:

Adrian, please repeat after me:
“From this day on, I Adrian, choose you, Kelly, to be my wife. To live with you and laugh with you, to stand by your side and to support you in all that you strive to be. To always listen to you, to labor with you, and to encourage you. To bring out the best in you always, and for you, to be the most that I can.”

Do you Adrian, promise to always love, hold, and adore Kelly, in good times and in bad. To enjoy her, console her, delight her and astound her. To work together to build your love, to speak openly and honestly, and to maintain the respect and trust that has grown between you. To give thanks to her always, and to die with this love that you have for her?

Adrian: I do

Kelly please repeat after me:
“From this day on, I Kelly, choose you, Adrian, to be my husband. To live with you and laugh with you, to stand by your side and to support you in all that you strive to be. To always listen to you, to labor with you, and to encourage you. To bring out the best in you always, and for you, to be the most that I can.”

Do you Kelly, promise to always love, hold, and adore Adrian, in good times and in bad. To enjoy him, console him, delight him and astound him. To work together to build your love, to speak openly and honestly, and to maintain the respect and trust that has grown between you. To give thanks to him always, and to die with this love that you have for him?

Kelly: I do.

Exchange of Rings
“May I have the rings please?”
The wedding ring is an unbroken circle which symbolizes unending and everlasting love, and is a visible symbol which represents your inner commitment to one another. May your lives together, Kelly and Adrian, be blessed with everlasting happiness.

Adrian, will you place this ring on Kelly’s finger and repeat after me:

“This ring is my precious gift to you as a sign that from this day forward, your every breath shall be surrounded with my love. With this ring, I thee wed.”

Kelly, will you place this ring on Adrian’s finger and repeat after me:

“This ring is my precious gift to you as a sign that from this day forward, your every breath shall be surrounded with my love. With this ring, I thee wed.”

Sand Ceremony
Love is the eternal force of life. Love is the force that allows us to face fear and uncertainty with courage. But although you will be sharing one life, never forget that you are two separate people. Cherish and affirm your differences. Love each other. Keep your commitment primary. Together you will laugh and cry, be sick and well, be happy and angry, share and grow. Grow sometimes together, sometimes separately. To symbolize the importance of the individuals within the marriage and the joining of two live into one entity, 2 colors of sand will now be layered together. This symbolizes that the marriage is based on the strength of the individuals.
(Groom pours some of his sand in, followed by bride pouring about the same amount)
And now we combine the colors, which symbolizes two lives joined as one together forever. May your lives together be longer than the time it would take to separate these individual grains of sand.
Play music (A whole new world), Bride and Groom put sand into large vase so that the colors combine until their jars are empty.

Conclusion
Kelly and Adrian go into the world and fulfill your lives. Hold fast to your ideals, and give to one another new experiences of joy. Challenge one another so that you may grow. May the love that you have for one another, now sealed in marriage, continue to deepen and flourish so that your lives together may be a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration.

Adrian, you may kiss your beautiful wife.

Family and friends, it is with great pleasure I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Blenus.

We all have those moments of panick, it's ok! Just remember to breathe...and only you and two know what's best and what you can afford and that's all that matters :) When you add the numbers up like that, they do look big! It helped me to have a spreadsheet of what we were saving on when things were due. I'm a spreadsheet girl :)

Love the ceremony!!!

Your ceremony is going to be so beautiful! That is great you have it all written out now!

I understand stress about the budget! I stressed about mine a lot. Like you, I had the money as well, but seeing it all add up like that was scary. I ended up going $5000 my scary amount :rotfl: Whatever makes you happy, without going into debt!

Thanks for the support! And I chuckled out loud a bit about the spreadsheets....I work in an environment that excel knowledge is kind of an asset - however I managed to avoid learning how to input even the most basic of formulas until I joined DVC and started planning this wedding....now I'm pretty much an expert :rotfl: I have a spreadsheet for budget, one to track DVC points, one for guest list/addresses/rsvp info, and one for dining. I am just slightly OCD methinks!

I LOVE the ceremony - I basically just put together a bunch of the samples that Reverand Day sent me, as well as adding in a few custom pieces of our own...It is very representative of the type of people we are and the relationship that we have, which is what I was hoping I would get to!

It really does help to know I'm not the first person to go through this budget stuff too...and I really DO think I am making the right decisions for us!

Today is the big day - I got ALL of the ADRs that I wanted - including 25 seats (level 1) at HDDR!!! YAY - so excited!!

I also got the email from Amy letting me know the DP is booked - so it's all coming together! Now I'm just waiting for the menus (although being the control freak that I am I basically know exactly what I want....)

Now I just have to figure out what the heck I want to do with my hair....my sister thinks that a tiara is over-kill and although until this weekend I was convinced on the tiara now she's got me doubting myself...but I also am past my return date so am stuck with it now anyways, so may as well make the most of it and just wear it! I'll look around for some inspiration pics this week and get them all in order so I can try to get it narrowed down...I have lots of time!

Trying to keep this as up to date as possible - I changed my cake flavor today...I know it's a very minor change....but this is the place for that, right? I am going for the Almond Cake with Amaretto Filling for the bottom, and sticking with the chocolate with peanut butter cup filling for the top.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm - I wish I could do a cake tasting....

Dessert Party!!
So as previously posted I originally wanted the following for my DP:
-mini napoleons, macaroons, key lime tarts, and cream horns
-Chocolate and White chocolate fondue with all of the normal dippers PLUS the cheesecake lollipops
-Chocolate covered strawberries (maybe)
-Coffees and hot chocolate

I got the info below from Amy today....I think what I will do is modify Menu #3 to include cheesecake lollipops, or the caramelized white chocolate cheesecake from Menu #2, add on cream horns (if they can even do that), and try to change the "pastries" to key lime/pecan tarts...I emailed Amy to see what can be done, as my PP budget is somewhere between the $30 and $40 mark....

Here are the updated menu selections for the Sago Cay DP:

Menu One
Assorted Friandise to include macaroons, pecan brittle, truffles & pate de fruit
Chocolate - Passion Fruit mousse
Strawberry - Champagne verrine
Marshmallow-Brownie s'mores with artisan chocolate

Maximum of 200 Guests

Menu Two
Gianduja - Chocolate Mousse
Raspberry Panna Cotta Verrines
Caramelized White Chocolate Cheese Cake

I have my appointment booked with Rosie for next week for my floral and event planning :) YAY! That's really the last thing that needs to be planned....I can't wait!

6 months seems so far away some days, but seems frighteningly close others....time is FLYING by!

Oh, I would def pick menu 3! White and dark chocolates are only the best kind! And the add on sounds heavenly! When I was going to do an actual "dessert" party, I was thinking about that one as well. That way, it isn't all so sweet (like the fruits and pretzels are good for people that don't really have a sweet tooth). That is just my opinion though...they all look tasty!

Hello!

Can I just say how much I LOVE your rings?!! Holy smokes! They are TOOOOOO sweet!

Also loved your story of you guys meeting (how nova scotian, and my boyfriend is also an avid WoW player!!), and your newsletters and dress!

Totally in awe of your awesome Disney wedding plans. :worship:

I saw CRT in your ADRs. Have you done that before? It is totally worth it (I see you're on DDP anyway). My daughter and I went for a CRT lunch last year as a mummy-daughter thing after her Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointment. I got the booking at 8am on the 120th day before the lunch and it was the last table left. It is really super-nice and you'll just LOVE it.

APs arrived!!
We got our APs today!!! Holy every one of these "silly milestones" just gets me more and more excited about this whole shebang....I can't believe how close it's getting!

Dessert Party Update
Also Amy replied to my dessert party menu choices, and we came to a great compromise...we're doing menu#3, which is the dark/white chocolate fondue menu, but instead of "assorted pastries" we are going to get cream horns, pecan tarts, and mini cheesecakes...although they aren't the cheesecake lollipops I originally wanted, I can improvise, as long as I have cheesecake to dip in my chocolate fondue I am a happy lady!!!

Thanks so much!! Glad you enjoyed my plans :) I can't wait to do CRT btw, it's funny because at one point Adrian said he wants to try Artist's Point on our honeymoon, and since it's the only time he has ever asked to choose a restaurant I said "Sure but you have to decide whether we cancel CRT or Narcossee's...to replace it with Artist's Point" He replied with "Cancel eating at the castle??? Are you crazy??? Cancel the other one....we can go there some other time - but we ARE eating at the castle!" It was great...

Veil and Crinoline
I took the plunge and ordered a veil and crinoline on ebay last night....the bridal shop was going to charge $250 for both items, which I thought was ridiculous....so I looked on ebay, found almost the exact same veil as well as a full A-Line crinoline and just took the plunge! I hope they are both decent - the sellers on both items seemed very reputable, so we'll see! Now I just have to cross my fingers till they arrive...

Honeymoon ADRs (Deluxe Dining Plan days)
My 180 day for my honeymoon ADRs is April 3....I can't wait - it's when a lot of the signature dining gets booked! We changed it around slightly to the following:
Sept 30 (lunch) - The Plaza Restaurant
Sept 30 (dinner) - Artist's Point
Oct 1 (breakfast) - CRT
Oct 1 (dinner) - Jiko
Oct 2 (breakfast) - Kona
Oct 2 (dinner) - California Grill

What a great way to end an epic adventure!

Also I ordered my sand ceremony kit and had it send directly to Disney...I love Amy - I am so happy I'm working with her...I gave them the wrong shipping address so she's calling to fix my mistake and make sure it gets there :)

Pics coming Sunday of the MOH dress - I can't wait to see it on her!

Vest and Tie ordered
I ordered a vest/tie combo to match the MOH dress, as well as a vest for our "bestie". We're going to have to have hers taken in dramatically....basically the tailor will have to craft a vest out of the original...because the smallest size they have is a men's small, and she is a very small 14 year old! She also found a pair of black "cigarette pants" to wear, and after the vest is tailored they are going to take it out and find a shirt that looks good with it.

Adrian got is first suit!!
Although this isn't really wedding related, it is honeymoon related. We decided since we're going to be going on at least 1 cruise a year (hopefuly) he needs to have a suit for formal nights (and also - every guy needs a suit for those random occasions that pop up!). His first cruise ever is going to be our 4 day DCL honeymoon cruise on the Wonder.

We got an amazing navy blue suit with very minor pin stripes, awesome brown shoes that have a very retro feel, with a belt to match...as well as a lavender shirt with corresponding tie...this is all quite amazing to me, because there is nothing "retro" about Adrian, and he has always avoided wearing pink, purple, or anything in that range - he is a pretty basic dresser (although always well dressed....not very adventurous)....I guess the sales guy was JUST THAT GOOD! :rotfl: It was a fun experience, he is just the most easygoing man I have ever been around. He hates shopping but didn't seem to mind it last night - which was a relief!

Floral Consultation
I had my floral consultation with Rosie last night....she is fantastic! She was able to understand my vision completely, and it seems like I was on the right track...she seemed to love my ideas, although I did give her free reign to use her own expertise and creativity - I am NOT a flower expert!

Here's what we came up with:
Bridal Bouquet: Hot Pink/Orange Gerber Daisies with bright yellow roses. Stems tied in hot pink with yellow crossover ribbons, with hidden mickey pins.
MOH: Hot Pink/Orange Gerber Daisies, stems tied with hot pink with orange crossover ribbons w/1 hidden mickey pin, and 1 large orange gerber daisy hair floral.
Groom: 1 Large Orange Gerber Daisy bout w/1 hidden mickey pin
Bestie: 1 long stemmed bright orange Gerber Daisy with stem tied with hot pink with orange crossover ribbons w/1 hidden mickey pin, and 1 large orange gerber daisy hair floral.

Extras:
I also ordered 2 altar arrangements to "frame" the sand ceremony that I bought. We're doing square glass vases with sand in the bottoms, with pink/orange daisy combo.

I decided to splurge just a bit on floral and added in a bouquet for each of the front pews. These are going to be pink/orange/and yellow daisy bouquets, as Rosie thought bringing in some more yellow here would look great.

I am not doing any decor at the DP...I think it would be lost on most of my guests anyways, and by then I don't think even I would notice (I'm planning to be WOWed by the food!)

I'm also going to need a floral refresh for the MK photo shoot, as it's 3 days after the wedding...they practically will have to rebuild my bouquet!

My great debate of this week is the DVD of the photos from the MK shoot. I don't really think it'a worth doing the shoot without the DVD - I want those pics for my at-home reception...but OMG the price is astounding! Disney really has a way with getting large amounts of money for very monir details!! Whew! I have added it to my budget tentatively, and will cut if necessary.

At-Home Reception
We have a tentative plan for the at-home reception, which we are having in December...

The Plan

Rent the bowling alley in our hometown for 4 hours (it's a fantastic place....kind of dingy but has a very retro feel to it!).
Finger foods will be provided (self catered....my family and I are pros at this kind of thing) and a cake (I'll likely do my own version of a hidden mickey fondant creation - I'm pretty good with fondant).
Approximately 100 people will be invited (maybe a few more), basically they can drop in at anytime in the 4 hours.
Wedding photos will be played on a loop on a large projector screen so people can check them out - this is why I want the DVD of our MK shoot so badly!
Wedding video will be played on projector screen at a set time (specified on the invite) so if they want to see that they can, they just have to be there at the right time.
The rest of the time will be spend bowling, mingling, and eating!

"Budget Woes" Update
I'm also kind of stoked that I have been just picking away at paying for the stuff on my list....I've made good progress in the past month, and have just been trying to get one thing at a time taken care of...my list is almost down to only the biggest items...park tickets, dining plans, and flights...If I can get those off my list soon I'll feel REALLY great! I'm going to try to get the park tickets paid for within the next 3 weeks, so the only big things left are the other 2...WOOT!

Your floral sounds great...it is going to be so pretty! Hot pink and orange looks so good together!

Your at home reception sounds so fun! I know with my personality, I would way rather go to something like that than a formal hall reception. Great idea :goodvibes

Can I ask what you need the park tickets for? You know that you get an annual pass, right?

Hi,

You posted on my tr (and thanks for the compliment on my dress) and i came to check out your tr. I live with a WoW player too and I love Halifax. Hoping to go in July to a training. It's rare to "meet" people on here that have been to Halifax! I love it here - it's one of the nicest cities I have ever been to....especially at this time of year! What kind of training are you doing?

What is HDDR? :confused3

daisygirl902

What is HDDR? :confused3

HDDR = Hoop De Doo Revue (dinner show)...I caused quite a stir on a totally unrelated thread a while back with my very unconventional way of saving money so that I could add things like the Dessert Party...

The dinner is optional and guests are buying their own tickets (this was actually suggested to me by family members who are attending...they are all fine with this idea). I got flamed pretty badly for it by a few people who felt that since my guests are traveling to Florida to be at my wedding I should feel obligated to pay for dinner or have a catered reception.

My family (as well as the rest of my guests) are pretty unconventional, and I am paying for the majority of my wedding myself (I say the majority, because as VERY generous wedding gifts my sister is paying for my photographer, the other sister is paying for the characters, and my mom is paying for the honeymoon cruise)...so they are very supportive and happy about the idea...

If I were paying for HDDR I'd likely have to cancel the DP, which none of us wanted.

Luckily I am also marrying one!

I decided to extend our honeymoon for 2 additional days...for a couple of reasons...

1. Because I really wanted 5 days with just Adrian and I to relax after the cruise.
2. Flights are cheaper on a Tuesday then on a Sunday so that almost covers the cost of the Dining Plan for the additional 2 days.
3. Speaking of Dining Plan - I get to eat more Disney food!

Soooo we are now going from Sept 18-October 5th...an epic 16 day trip!

We booked the last 2 nights at OKW but are waitlisted to stay in our room at BLT for the whole last 5 days....hopefully my waitlist comes through but if not it's kind of OK too, as this way we'd get to see what OKW is like!

I added on the following ADRs for the last 2 days:

Breakfast @ Boma
Dinner @ Narcossees
Lunch @ Sci-Fi Dine In
Dinner @ Brown Derby

YAY!

I am new to the site and just started reading your PJ so I want to comment on some things that you posted a while ago lol Everything sounds so great! Your rings are amazing!! That is so original and well just amazing! The rest of the plans seem to be going great. I too just had a budget freak out, it can be so stressful, but it will be so worth it in the end! It is great to hear that you extended your stay - that is always a great thing! I look forward to reading more about your planning, your wedding sounds like it is going to be great!

So now it's time to kick this into high gear....I started a running program with my sister last night...we are running 3 nights a week (well it's starts out with a run/walk combo), and I also get up every morning to walk 4.5 KM (on my way right now actually)...time to try to get the last 12 lbs off before the trip...

My day was awesome today! Started off by calling WestJet about a cheaper flight I saw through TD Infinite Visa (even though I technically don't have one - a good friend does) and they honored the price - so I got $120 back! This means I am paying $360 for each of my flights (return) - which is AMAZING!

Now onto the changes.....

Room Reservations
So on the last 5 days of our trip we were going to stay at BLT for the first 3 nights, then have to transfer to OKW - there is little chance of the waitlist coming through - there are virtually no studios available for most of that week at DVC resorts.

But I got a great CM on the phone today who suggested that I get the full stay in a savannah view studio, which means we don't have to move...the night in the middle can only be booked using cash, but I am waitlisting it for points to see if I can get it - but it's a great deal anyways and pretty cool to be staying in a savannah view at AKV for our honeymoon!

Another YAY!

Rosie had some great ideas to work with these colors together too! She made me really able to visualize it all - it was very helpful!

It's rare to "meet" people on here that have been to Halifax! I love it here - it's one of the nicest cities I have ever been to....especially at this time of year! What kind of training are you doing?

I am hoping to do Visualizing and Verbalizing which is a "teacher" training. I am glad I came back to read your thread as I have been so busy with wedding planning that I have forget to look more into the training. I need Marty to come with me and our 2 week wedding is keeping him away from WoW so I don't know how he will feel about another trip so soon. Maybe you understand :)

I need Marty to come with me and our 2 week wedding is keeping him away from WoW so I don't know how he will feel about another trip so soon. Maybe you understand :)

I feel very lucky - Adrian is a very rare WoW player - he recently gave it up for a full year (took it back up again obviously - life just isn't the same without it...lol) - but he really has always enjoyed the opportunity to travel over and above any gaming that he does....he got out of the more serious game play years ago so he's not nearly as committed now :) Although at least half of our friends are INTO it....it's very hard to make any kinds of plans with people who have "video game time" scheduled into their lives at regular intervals...lol

For all that I make fun I should mention that I also played for about a year, but I don't have the mental stamina to commit to a game unfortunately...I like short but sweet games like "Plants vs. Zombies"!

Good luck getting your training scheduled - if you need any restaurant or hotel advice around here let me know...

It's funny - this whole thing made me realize that I wasn't as upset so much with paying $750...I just needed to feel like I was getting value for that money - and I think upgrading the photo package will give me that! I would have bought an 11x17 anyways - and I LOVE photo albums so it's fantastic really...

I actually played too. It really increased my popularity with some middle schoolers :) I couldn't keep up the commitment either. I can't even keep up with my crops in Farm Town :rotfl2:

He is good with traveling too but I do think he will be anxious to get home after 2 weeks as that is a long trip for us. I actually looked at some pictures of WoW cakes for a grooms cake but I think he would hate that. Love it but hate it as no one else there would understand it.

If I don't make it to the training this summer I know we will be making it over with a year a two. I heard they stopped the Cat from Maine which is a bummer. I will look into it as I may have misunderstood. I will get some advice in the future.

Nope - you are in fact correct - the CAT is no more...very sad in a way. It will likely be the death of my hometown in a lot of ways...there is really no other reason for people form the US to go to little old Yarmouth, NS. The closest they will likely get now is our capital city of Halifax.

Yay, you have gotten so much done since I last read your PJ! That is awesome the flights are booked! If you really want the MK portrait you should do it. I was on the fence about it, and only did AK, and now I wish I did MK as well. It isn't a huge regret for me, but just thought I would mention that from someone who didn't really care about who wished they perhaps had done it, I can only imagine the regret from someone who really did want it and didn't do it. Of course, that is if budget allows for it :goodvibes

And I can't BELIEVE how CHEAP you found your flights. :worship: I was happy to get ours for $1100 for the two of us, it had been looking like it might be more like $2500 which is WAY too much. I did have $200 TD trvael dollars to pay some of it off but still...

We're flying AC so I only get 1 free checked bag now :sad2: but I am so glad we can have 2 carry-ons again as my dress and my laptop need to fly with me.

So remember on like the 2nd page where I said I had originally considered SBP for my wedding....weeeeellllllll guess what? I am considering making just a few changes to this whole shindig.

So I have been looking at a million pictures, plus reading through every BEO I have seen on here. I also realized yesterday that I am currently spending more than the Wishes minimum. When I look at BEOs of people who have stayed near the minimum I love their weddings....soooooo I am waiting for Amy to call me back tomorrow to possibly change...well....basically everything except the groom, the colors, the wedding party, and the photog.

So here is my idea - advice is good - don't hold back:

MK shoot (plus EPCOT?)
I am thinking that we may do the MK shoot on the day of the wedding, to save the $$ for hair, makeup, and floral refresh. With the money saved on those things, I could add in an EPCOT shoot too! So yes, it would mean a VERY long wedding day, but I'll just move my breakfast the next day to lunch instead and we can sleep in the day after the wedding!

Ceremony
10 AM at SBP, followed by a buffet brunch (maybe at the attic - I love that it needs no decor but not sure if it's OK for 18 people) - still keeping Mickey and Minnie of course! Not sure but I don't think they do confetti cannons here, so this may nave to be toss petals instead...

So for ceremony decor I am thinking with what I have in my budget I can do chair covers with the Teal ribbons (or hot pink and orange), a light scattering of hot pink petals along the aisle, and 2 pillars to "frame us" with arrangements on them (daisies, which are quite reasonable).

Pictures
Sticking with Randy for a couple hours after brunch...in fact I called him today to ask what he thinks of the change - he said he loves SBP, and thinks it is just so perfect for a smaller group like ours....which is what I love too, as well as the fact that it takes so little decor to make it so beautiful.

And then:
Relax for a bit (or maybe just go on a big old picture taking excursion), and then off to HDDR for dinner.

Dessert Party at SC is not changing...

So give feedback - am I crazy to change it? I feel like if I am already over the minimum and I can really get a more custom wedding for the same cost...it just seems worth it at this point...I'll be able to see it more clearly after I talk to Amy tomorrow I'm sure. Let me know what you all think though! I am open to feedback (although I am warning you I don't always take it).

I just want to say that I think it is kind of funny that you posted this - as a fellow September 2010 bride, I have to admit that I have also been thinking of some changes to my wedding today (mainly wanting to do it earlier and eat brunch food). I think that you need to do what will make you the happiest. After spending all of this money and putting all of this time into one day, you want to make sure that you won't have any regrets about anything. This new plan would let you get the MK shoot (which is something I think you really want to do) and it seems like SBP is also something you really want. The planners at disney get paid to do this and I am sure that it happens a lot so they will be able to do it for you no problem. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide!

Thanks so much ladies - I think I am pretty set on changing it up....so much for the oh so beautiful newsletters I sent out with all of my plans listed :) I think I'll just follow it up with an official "Invite" to the people who have confirmed that they are coming with the day's itinerary all mapped out on it....but I'll wait till much closer to the wedding to do so.

I was also thinking last night....I actually have enough Avion points on my Visa and enough DVC points to go down for a whirlwind planning session virtually for no cost to myself....I just have to figure out whether or not that's really worth it....it may be but I'm not really sure it's feasible. But it just sounds like so much fun :)

That is great you might be able to change to a wishes, either way, your wedding will be beautiful!

To be honest, I don't think I would have needed the planning session, with all the info that was given on here. If I lived closer and had the $$ I would have wanted one for the experience (if I had a wishes) but I don't think I would have gone from Ontario for that. That is totally my opinion only though, and if you want it, and you can swing it, I bet it would be a lot of fun :goodvibes. It is just so easy to get wrapped up in the planning, than realizing how much all the extra costs add up :headache:

So it's done - I talked to Amy and she said with my vision I could definitely get everything i want and still be under the minimum...she also recommended if I can swing it to come down for the planning session. If I didn't have the points available for the flight and hotel I wouldn't even consider it, but hell if I can do it for free, why not??

The only thing I am totally upset about is I have to get a new planner!!! I love Amy :(

Other than that, I feel good about it after talking it over with her, and she also thinks I am making the right decision to switch locations - and SBP is free for the day I want :) It should work out....now time to revise this whole PJ so it makes sense to people just reading it - whew!

That is great! You got to switch! From the sounds of it, you will be really happy with your decision. And if you can get down there for a planning session for really nothing out of your pocket, I would definitely say to do it. That is sad that you have to get a new planner now - is it because of the switch from escape to wishes?

I also got the vests in today for the groom and our "bestie"...hers is WAY too big and I am really hoping that a tailor can do something with it....looks like they'd pretty much have to build it from the ground up to make it work...oh well we're still within the time frame that if she needs to get a dress she can. Adrian's is also too big, but just slightly, I'm sure it can be pretty easily tailored to fit him. The color is amazing, and looks like a perfect match to the dress (well, it should be, I ordered them from the same company!

Contract Change/Rooms
I talked to Kristi today to get my new contract. Although I have enough rooms booked to count towards the free night (I actually have WAY more than the minimum), she is not sure they can give me a comp night because we booked them on our own...she is looking into it. I really hope they figure it out, becasue if they say I don't qualify I may have to cry...as we have WAY more than enough rooms booked to meet the totals! If we get the comp night it would work perfectly because we have one night we are paying for in cash the night before the cruise - we are staying at Dolphin. I could easily cancel that and get my money back and stay at a different Disney Hotel for the comp night!

Photo Shoot
So we are now booked for a MK and EPCOT shoot at 6 AM on Sept 22 (our wedding day). If I have to take out the EPCOT shoot due to being over budget I will, but it was easier to just get it booked just in case. I am saving way more than the $300 it'll cost me for the additional shoot just by having it the morning of the wedding - because of the lack of need for additional hair and makeup, and the floral refresh.

Wedding Plans
We are now booked at SBP at 10 AM and The Attic directly after that, until 3 PM for brunch.

HDDR is at 5 PM, I'm considering hiring transportation to get us at least as far as the MK boat launch for that - just to make it easier.

We go directly back to Sago Cay for the DP after that!

I decided to cancel my breakfast at Akershus the morning after the wedding day so we don't have to get up and be anywhere. We can just get up and do some laundry, and hang out around the resort/DTD for the day. I booked Wolfgang Puck Cafe that night instead of breakfast.

Planning Session
I am so excited :) Kristi says I should be in contact with my planner sometime next week, and can figure out a date for the planning session. I figure if I can get a mini-vacation in for 2 days for only the cost of food, why the heck not?

I would like to see The Attic, and maybe Ariels's as well just to see them in person and be sure I like The Attic best - from all of the pics I have seen I like the Atticbetter - but you never know, sometimes things are different in person.

Thanks - and you can take credit for finally tipping me over the edge to switch to Wishes :) I had been thinking about it for a while - and then read your "Must Do/Wish I had done" list and called the planner the next day to get the ball rolling!

I'm not sure of a brunch menu yet - I'm not really sure what my options are really!

I am sticking with my original DP menu I think (although am going for the planning session so anything could change then!)

Assorted mini Pastries
White and Dark Chocolate Fondue with Items to Dip, including:
Angel Food Cake, Fresh Fruits and Berries, Marshmallows, Graham Crackers,
And Pretzels
Coffees with Whipped Cream, Shaved Chocolate, Cinnamon Sticks,
Orange Peel and Flavored Coffee Syrups
$30.00++ per Guest

But instead of "assorted pastries" we are going to get cream horns, pecan tarts, and mini cheesecakes...

I am undecided how we're getting there really. I am waiting to talk to my planner to see what's best. I am considering hiring a motor coach to get us from BW to the boat launch and then boating across, but not sure if there is a sopt over there where the motor coach can just drop us off directly. Fort Wilderness is HUGE - so I want to do whatever will make it easiest on us. On the way back we'll boat over to MK and then monorail to GF for our Dessert Party at Sago Cay!! Can't wait...

Did you like HDDR? I have been twice and LOVED it both times!

Thanks! I think it will be a blast - although I did have some second thoughts when I rebooked my hair and make up for 4 AM the day of the wedding....it sure is going to be a long day for us....but well worth it, I'm sure. I am constantly planning...not just the wedding - I'm like this on our regular trips as well...I normaly start planning my dining schedule for a trp directly upon returning from one....and make a bunch of changes up tll the 180 day mark, then try to tone down the changes as to starts to get harder to change stuff. I find the wedding planning so much fun - the boards makes it so easy as well - I have gotten SO many great ideas from the brides on here - wow....

As for Dolphin - I'd love to stay there - however the $150 that I'd get back on my credit card for cancelling that night would sure help out right now! Every cent counts....so I am hoping Kristi gets back to me today about the comp night at a WDW resort..I really hope it comes through...I think it's only fair since I have WAY more than the 25 night minimum booked....I just didn't see the need to do a room block with our Escape wedding...but now that we switched I wish I had.....

Good news on the hair front too - since I'm going down for the planning session I may just be able to book a hair and makeup trial as well....they said Patricia is usually available to "squeeze in" a hail trial during the week - that would make me feel so much better....I don't get my hair and makeup done, well..ever...so it would help to see it ahead of time and make sure we get it right!

May I suggest to upgrade to cheesecake lollipops if it fits in your budget? (or if they sound appealing). They were a huge hit when I had them at Sago Cay, and the best dessert I had all week!

Oh god - you are becoming my best friend and worst enemy all at once! First you somehow got me to change to a Wishes wedding, now the darn cheesecakes....do yo know me somehow? Did one of my friends reach out to you and tell you how succeptable I am to suggestions??? :rotfl:

I have actually been considering that upgrade since the start of the planning...Amy convinced me to just have the mini cheesecakes instead and we can dip them in chocolate if we want....Do you know what they charge pp to add them on? I WOULD really love them - cheesecake is my absolute favorite dessert!

:lmao: I do that to everyone! Seriously though, I am not saying Escapes are bad at all, just from my experience, and what I wanted in particular, Wishes would have been better!

I don't know the price of the cheesecake lollipops, since I just upgraded them from what I had before. My upgrade fee was $5 pp when I added them and took out regular cheesecake. For me, it was really worth it because:
a) they were so cute on display
b) they were easier to eat since they were small (I can't eat a real slice of cheesecake. It is too rich, so I need other flavours/toppings in each bite)
c) the white ones must have been key lime or something. They tasted different and were slightly green, so I am assuming that is what they were. They were to die for!

But dipping them in chocolate sounds amazing too!

Believe me I was just kidding - the change from Escape to Wishes has been fantastic for me so far. I think that the day will work out much better this way!

And if they even have an OPTION for key lime cheesecake lollipops I am upgrading! those are 2 of my favorite things - key lime....cheesecake....yum.

Aw thanks! Glad you are enjoying it! Anyone starting up now and reading straight through must think I am a nutcase! It's definitely changed a bit since page 1!

I'm actually kind of excited but kind of bummed out about the planning session....it looks like I will be going BUT by myself.

I can't see bringing Adrian, as for one we can't afford it, secondly he would hate to go that close to the parks and not go TO the parks, and thirdly he is not a very decisive person....he has a hard time offering an opinion on things like food and colors...he's way too easygoing. I was hoping one of my sisters or my mom could go but it's not looking like that's very feasible...it's a lot of $$ to spend on a flight to go for just 3 days!

I'm wondering about trying to do a food tasting with just one person....I'm thinking that may be a bit foolish...but before I commit to paying for food I'd like the opportunity to try some of it!

Hi Daisy!

I've been lurking in your thread but with the recent mention of cheesecake lollipops dipped in chocolate I simply had to say HI. Talk about yum!

Your wedding plans sound exciting and I think Wishes is the way to go! Congrats and good luck! I look forward to more updates. :)

How's the walking/jogging going?

How's the walking/jogging going?

- Carey

Hey Carey - Thanks for reading along - and for asking about the walking/running - I am actually sitting right now in my running gear ready to head for a "cheater run" on the treadmill! I only call it a cheater run cause I've recently discovered just how hard outdoor running is!

We are sticking with it though - my sister and I go at least 3 if not 4 days a week - we are on week 3 of the running program that we started, (week 3 is "run 2 mins, walk 3" for about 40 mins) and we switched from city running to a local park which has more hills...

On the days I don't do the running program I try to go for a brisk 40 min walk - I have been pretty consistent with some kind of a workout 6 days a week. I am on slim fast for a while, as I can't run with food in my stomach so the meal replacements as my evening meal work great for me, and it's finally gotten me past the long plateau I was at. I have taken off 3 of the remaining 12 lbs I had as a goal! So I am thrilled.

So if I lose the 12 lbs you betcha I am gonna be eating lots of those cheesecake lollipops :)

YAY - I got an email from Kristi at DFTW today that they were able to approve my complimentary night!

So we're booking at the Polynesian for the night before our cruise, and I am cancelling the night at the Dolphin. Although I'd love to stay at Dolphin, $150 will go pretty far right about now - that's just more spending money for the planning session trip!!

Plus I have always wanted to stay at Poly - and now that I own DVC likely won't get to stay there on any of our "regular trips"...so it's a great opportunity!

Oh and for anyone who is wondering why they would "bend the rules" for me and comp me a night without an official room block - keep in mind I have over 65 room nights booked between myself and my family...WAY more than the minimum! I just didn't see the need to create a room block initially...and by the time I switched to Wishes it was too late!

Well, the points transfer price to stay at a non-DVC resort isn't great - it's kind of a waste of money to use the points that way IMHO. I only plan on using my points to stay at DVC resorts - so GF and Poly are out for me for the next few years!!

Don't get me wrong, it's a good deal if you stay at the Delux resorts that are a part of DVC - but Poly and GF are not DVC...

Well he really wanted to play it...however for one we are not bringing a guitar and unfortunately Disney isn't really big on "outside musicians" - however I do think I'll find a way to work it in somehow...I've got a few ideas.

But yes, he is a pretty amazing and romantic guy....yesterday was my birthday and he made me a video in which he plays a montage of "When you wish upon a star", the song he wrote for me, and "A Dream is a Wish your heart makes" - you can also see that on Youtube by searching Kelly's Birthday Video 2010. He is so creative!

The small details are starting to drive me a bit nuts....I am really understanding the need for me to go for a planning session. I am tossed up on a couple of things right now...

Brunch or straight up br...eakfast?
I like the idea of Brunch...but having eggs, bacon, and pasta together seems weird to me for some reason. So I am thinking about toning it down to the mainstays of breakfast....not sure till I can try the pasta and chicken dishes - I think that may help! They do sound delicious - but not even sure that the ones I have checked out are still current...the menus on certain sites that apparently get blanked out here are not always up to date.

Drinks
I am also thinking about not adding on any kind of drinks...and just going with the coffee/tea/juices that come with brunch...I can't see spending the extra for a bunch of drinks that are SO overpriced! It just seems like a waste - but not sure if people will hate that idea or not...although it's not THEIR wedding - LOL

Transporation
You may all think I'm crazy - but I am thinking that the regular Disney busses aren't that busy in the afternoon - so I think we may just take the bus over to MK and the boat to HDDR. I can't see hiring transportation for this! However I think I WILL splurge and get a private bus for after the DP - as I think we will all be too tired to even think about taking the regular transport.

Timelines...
My sister and I debated the timelines a bit yesterday as I have basically planned a very full day. She thought it may be better to have a break in the afternoon so that people could go back to their resorts and get freshened up and go for a swim or something before leaving for HDDR.

I disagreed as I really don't think there is time to get from BW to POP and back over to MK to catch the boat to HDDR. Although my reasoning below may seem selfish the way I look at it is:

a) I won't really have time to get out of my dress and back into it between brunch and leaving for HDDR at 3:45-4 PM regardless - and certainly am not going swimming and ruining my hair and makeup.
b) It's my wedding day and I want to spend time relaxing with my family together - not all splitting up for the afternoon.
c) I don't want to pay for brunch and have people trying to rush through it to get out in time to go back to their resorts...I don't have to pay more to stay at The Attic until 3 PM, so I'd like to stay till then if possible.

So my timelime is pretty packed but looks something like this:
crack of dawn: MK/EPCOT Shoot
10 AM: Ceremony/Photos with guests
11:30: Brunch, Cake Cuting, Minnie/Mickey
1-3: Caricatures and socializing
3-3:45: Wander BW/Ride the boats/waste time in general
3:45 transport to MK to catch the boat to HDDR
5 PM: HDDR
7:30-9: Dessert Party

To be fair although it's a busy day much of it will be spent in Air Conditioned places, and we'll be sitting a lot - it's not like doing parks all day with no breaks! I am trying not to second guess it all now...like I said once I get a planner assigned they will be able to tell me whether or not I am nuts. I think it sounds like a phenomenal wedding day - and that's gotta count for something!

Okay, I will see if I can help!

Breakfast/Brunch debate:

DH and I had the same thought...we didn't like the idea of mixing pasta and chicken with waffles and pastries. There is (or was) a huge price difference between the breakfast and brunch menus, so that pretty much settled it for us. Plus, like us, you are also having a dinner, so you will have more substantial food later on. My guests all raved about our breakfast menu, and nobody seemed to mind not having lunch options.

Drinks:

If it is the morning, I probably wouldn't add much on, especially since you get them at HDDR. We added mimosas because we wanted to have some type of alcohol option, but everyone I know drinks, and I knew they would appreciate it, so it depends on your crowd.

Transportation:

I personally would hire transportation. How many people do you have? One way vans, that fit 8 people, are $25 each. I hired vans to bring people home from Epcot after our welcome party, and people were so thankful. Personally, I can't imagine not having private transportation on my wedding day (but I am also an overly anxious person). There are past brides on this board who have used public transportation, and I don't really remember them complaining...so I guess it is whatever works for you! I just wanted to give you my thoughts!

Timeline:

If you decide to get private transportation, you may want a break in between your events. After our brunch, everyone was ready for a nap, and I know the break was appreciated (but we started at 9 am). It is really all about knowing what you and your guests can handle!

Thanks for the info! I had NO IDEA you could get vans that cheap!! I was looking at transport options that were WAY more expensive than that! I am really excited now! I will definitely be getting them to cart people back to their resorts after the DP!!

The transportation also makes me see that it might be plausible to have an afternoon break...as that's part of my issue - if we break at 1:30, people taking Disney Transport to a different resort likely won't get back to their resort until 2:30 and then have to leave at 3:45 to get back to MK to catch the bus to HDDR - it just doesn't make sense....but with private transport they could be back at their resort by 1:45 really...

I don't know - I'm still not a big fan of breaking it up for some reason - mostly selfish I know, but there is no way I am going to be able to nap (I am NOT a napper - nor is Adrian)! Plus I'll be too scared to ruin my hair and makeup to go in the pool....so I'll just get bored and tired in the break time...

The other thing is we have a few guests who are not staying on resort so a break really screws things up for them.

Your input is much appreciated - that whole "van idea" made my day!

Boardwalk_bride
05-11-2010, 11:17 AM
I know, I was really surprised when I found such affordable transportation options!

Planning a break is def more difficult when you have people staying everywhere. DH and I were at BC and everyone else was at POP, so we only needed one stop with the transportation.

We had a 6 hour break, and we didn't nap. We hung around the room for about an hour, and than went and walked around the Boardwalk area for 2 hours. When we got back to the hotel, DH watched sports highlights and I went on my computer for a bit. Eventually, we did start to get board, as there is only so much you can do when trying to keep your hair and makeup looking nice.

I ordered our Halloween costumes today for MNSSHP!

Not sure if I mentioned already, but 7 of us are going the first night back from our honeymoon cruise....we decided to go with Fred and Wilma Flintstone costumes, as they are really easy to get dressed up in for the party....we'll likely get have to dressed in the public washrooms after dinner....since I don't really want to eat at Artist Point in a costume :)

I also got a lot of opinions on the wedding day timeline, and will likely be sticking with my original plan and just filling up most of the day - I'm really quite stuck on the idea of the caricature artist. I think it will work great for most of my guests....and for us as well! I guess I'll let you all know after it's all said and done!

daisygirl902
05-13-2010, 04:20 PM
So - how many times can a bride possibly change her mind before it's all said and done?

A lot! And I am proof....

Ok - so remember way back at the beginning when I said how i was so set on a Wishes DP? Well I'm starting to see that as I change one thing in my plan it kind of has a domino effect....and that domino effect is kind of making me lean towards an Illuminations DP instead.

Why you ask?

Here are the Top 5 reasons:
1. With us now having brunch I need Randy to add on 2 hours to the package I had signed up for originally just due to the timelines. If I have the DP at EPCOT, that eliminates the need for Randy to come back at night, and I can use THAT 2 hours towards the daytime photography...so no extra cost there.
2. I am already buying the CD of photos for the MK shoot - so if I get the photography for the EPCOT DP too, they will add the photos on there, which is sweet - I'm all about adding value to justify my changes!
3. Speaking of value - as I mentioned way back one of the things that really ticks me off about the Wishes DP is the fact that it costs $500 to pipe in the music...I am NOT having a Wishes DP without the Wishes music! It's just not an option in my mind....but $500 is just so friggin ridiculous when you know all they really have to do is flip a switch!
4. The $500 saved from the music can go towards the photography and the venue fee if I change to EPCOT, and I almost come out paying the same amount in reality...for a minimal cost difference I feel like I'd be getting more out of my money.
5. I am truly a Wishes snob...I have watched it from a few different areas and I am totally afraid of the view from Sago Cay. I ONLY like Wishes when it's all nice and centered over the castle right from the middle of Main St. USA...I fell like the view from Sago Cay just won't live up to what Wishes is all about in my mind....

So sorry ladies...I know it's hard to keep up with me - sometimes I feel like I should just scrap this PJ and start over under an assumed name...I promise I WILL get it right, and the day will be GREAT! And I only have 4 more months...so how many more times can I change my mind?

Is this normal? Is it some kind of disease?

I hope it is normal because I change my mind on everything hourly. If it isn't normal I have the same disease as you! (probably why I have never started a pj ;) )

I think changing to an Illuminations DP sounds like a great idea!

Thanks for the support ladies...I spend a lot of time thinking about and justifying all of the changes....they all just make sense to me.

I was thinking last night now ironic and funny it is that WAAAAY back when I first considered a Disney wedding I wanted to get married at SBP and have the DP at Morocco...and now look where I ended up...lol

I'm happy with all of the changes and decisions I have made...but I pity the fools who are just starting to read my PJ now...they have a lot to catch up on!

Hi Kelly!

Don't think you are crazy over all your changes! You should have seen where I started out...I can't beleive so many of the brides on here stuck with me! The whole point in planning and having a PJ on these boards is that you can evaluate all your options and see what works for you!

Do you know where in Epcot you will have your DP?

First of all, I have completely enjoyed reading your report. I think your rings are just great. Your dress is so beautiful and love love love the pink shoes. I know you got a crinnie and just as an added FYI - I dyed mine pink - and it looked great - not to give you anything else to do - but a pink crinnie would look great with those shoes.

My pink crinnie:

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q136/lpizzuro123/1d43a158.jpg

I love the way you have changed your mind so many times and what is important is that this is you and you DF's day so make sure to get it right and to be just what you want. SBP is beautiful.

We did brunch in ADH and while I guess it is strange to mix breakfast items with pasta and chicken and salad this is what we did and everyone loved it. We did not have dinner after though so since you guys are doing HDDR after I think sticking with breakfast items is the way to go. We had the coffee, tea and juice from our brunch menu at brunch but we also added a champagne punch - which everyone loved. We paid for this by the pitcher and it worked out great. We have never done the HDDR but hopefully on our next trip.

As far as your DP goes - I agree with you being a Wishes snob. The best place to watch it is of course on Main Street - with the fireworks going off right behind the castle. The next best place is the beach at the Poly - as the Poly is directly across from the MK - you also get the fireworks right behind the castle. We have watched Wishes from the GF and while it is beautiful and you are closer then the Poly - it looks like the fireworks are going off to the side of the castle - still beautiful - but definately not the same.

Our DP was in Epcot in the UK Lower - just to give you and idea of the pictures you can get here is one from our party. This was taken by Misty (we were married before you were not allowed to have outside photographer for an inpark wedding). We have never watched IllumiNations from Morocco.

I got my contract and sent it back in today, as well as the save the date examples and a link to check out the website!

I can't wait to hear back with a planner - it feels so bizarre to be starting over this late in the game - but I'm sure it will all work out in the end! I just want to get this planning session booked...I think knowing when I'm going will be great - as I have said I'm kind of an OCD planner so thinking that I may be taking a trip next month, but having yet to have made a plan is a bit scary...

Oh well - off for a run...I put on 4 lbs this weekend on a "girls weekend"....kind of scares me what's going to happen on a 16 day Disney Trip....now you see why I need to take off 10 extra lbs to prepare!

Well i have this weird tradition that I start a manual countdown on my Facebook and IM that days "x days till Disney!"...the first thing I do every morning is update the countdown...it seems to make the days just fly by for some reason.

YAY!!

Now I'm just hoping that my planner gets assigned soon....I hate the waiting part of this whole process...

Isn't it exciting that everything is getting closer?

Okay, I am going to give you my experience from Morocco (although maybe you already read it), compared to the pics I have seen from UK and the DP in UK I walked by the night of mine.

Morocco pro:
-the ambiance in Morocco, IMHO, is amazing. I love the colours, the architecture, everything. We were right behind the stage for "Mo-rock-on" (no idea how to spell that) as they were playing, so it really added to the ambiance.

Morocco con:
-It is long and narrow, and kind of separated into 2 areas, which means people are split up. I literally couldn't even see half my guests from where I sat to eat. Because of this alone, if I ever had another DP, I wouldn't pick Morocco.

I know - I'm kind of scared after reading about your experience in your TR.

It's kind of funny how I ended up with Morocco actually - and I may change it once I get a planner....I asked Kristi (my Sales Rep) through email if it would be any trouble to change the DP if I decided to host it in say, Morocco...she replied with "No Problem" - 2 days later I had my LOA and Morocco was in there...lol. I didn't realize how literally she had taken me in my original email. I really did actually ask as a "what if" type of question - so once I got the LOA I kind of just shrugged it off (as I really do want Illuminations instead of Sago Cay)...

But after seeing the above pics of UK I am very very tempted to call and change the location....the only thing is I don't want to hold the process of getting a planner up. I feel like it's taking forever (I know that it's my fault, cause I changed my contract) but waiting is HARD!

So my plan now is to wait until I get my planner and then see abvout possibly making the change then.

I didn't realize that the Morocco spot is set up that way where you're in 2 different areas - ew...

OMG OMG OMG I am so excited right now!! I get to keep Amy as my planner!

AND - My planning session is booked for 9 AM at Franc's on June 8th!!

This means.......

I AM GOING TO DISNEY IN 2 WEEKS!!!

The only bad part is I am going all by myself - none of my family members can go right now on such short notice....but whatever - I AM GOING TO DISNEY IN 2 WEEKS!!!

I am booked in a Savannah View Studio at AKV (I had my choice of that or a Studio at SS for 3 points less) - but since I'm not planning to go to the parks I think AKV is the perfect place for me...

I am so excited.

In case I forgot to mention it I am pretty excited right now....

And now time to get back to real life cause I'm leaving on a short trip to Yarmouth (3 hours away - my hometown) to work out of that office till Wednesday...and I still haven't packed cause Amy called right in the middle of it all...

YAY :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Congrats on booking your PS :cool1:...DF and I will be there on June 2nd. Unfortunately, we're only going for one day and then heading down to Sarasota to visit family, but its still pretty exciting. Are you going to have a food tasting as well??? DF loves to eat so that's what he's looking most forward to

I think I am going to have a food tasting - I want to at least try the "non breakfast items" that I have as options for Brunch - so we'll see...

Any other DisBrides out there who may be in the area when I'm there let me know - I will be all by myself - and I'm only moderately insane...

I finally read your PJ! Wow, you went through a lot of changes which all sound great! I think we are both indecisive.

Let me know how the veil from eBay turns out. I am terrified to buy one from there but I dont want to spend $150 on something I will never wear again.

Dani - the veil is great....not as good quality as the $150 ones in the bridal shop....but it's one of those things that I just didn't want to splurge on as it's such a minor detail - I will likely only wear it for the ceremony and a few pics anyways. The crinoline wasn't quite as full as I expected, however it'll do, again for the fact that I saved so much $$ by ordering them on Ebay I was very happy with both!

And I have kinda come to terms with all the changes...I was totally friggin stressed at first but now that I picture it all in my head it just seems right, and it really didn't before.

I agree - it was great for me to find out that was one of the only rooms left! I can't wait...I was considering activating my AP and getting some solo park time in, but decided to just laze around, enjoy the resort, go to DTD, and do some resort hopping instead.

I filled out my planning session sheets, and scheduled my food tasting. I think the planning session week will look something like this (I am an OCD planner):

Planning Session Week Itinerary
Monday:

Arrive at AKV at around 1:30 PM.
Lunch at Sanaa.
Hang out at the pool for a while in the afternoon, until check in at 4 PM.
Check in (and pick up my new owners locker!), unpack, and get freshened up and changed.
Head over to DTD to wander around and eat at Earl of Sandwich.

Tuesday:

Breakfast at Captain Cooke's (I HAVE to try Tonga Toast!).
PS at 9 until 1 at Franc's.
The food tasting is at 2:30 at BW so I'm going to head over and wander around the area for a bit first.
After this I'll likely head back to the resort to chill by the pool for a while.
Cali Grill and eat at the bar so I can go out and watch Wishes!

Wednesday:

Using my "Give a day, get a day" pass to go to EPCOT for the day! I forgot I even had this - was so excited to remember it, as it means I get a whole day in the park.
Check out Morocco and UK to be sure I picked the right one for my DP.
Watch Illuminations

Thursday:
Breakfast at Boma then heading out...:sad2:

Random Wedding Details
I decided to get embroidered mickey ears instead of place cards for the tables. I'm going to embroider the men's hats with orange thread, and the ladies with hot pink. I am hoping that they do custom embroidery as I'd like to have along the bottom edge of the hat "Adrian and Kelly's Fairytale Wedding - September 22, 2010" and then their name above that in block lettering. Not sure they will do that though - it may just be their names.

I also am now leaning towards just biting the bullet and paying the extra to get Disney to arrange the caricature artist. I hate that they charge more than double the price, but I really don't want to have to work with outside vendors...I know that I'll be worried the whole time that they will be late, won't show up, etc....and I just don't want to have to wonder...I'll talk to Amy about it more when I get there. She also told me they wouldn't charge me any extra for the caricature tubes...and it just seems like so much less hassle.

I also think that I am going to split up the brunch food a bit, and serve the yogurt/granola parfaits and fruit as kind of a "pre-reception" spread - that way we can take our time getting to the brunch and get some pics done on the way.....I want to be able to get as many pics as possible with Randy as I LOVE his style....so I think I'll send my sister to lead everyone to the Attic and the bridal party will take our time and get some "Around Boardwalk" shots done...

That's all for now....besides the fact that it's now 11 days till my trip!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Just a note about the custom embroidery - unfortunately I do not think they will do this for you - beside - that is alot of info to put on a hat. We got Mickey ears for our ringbearer and I wanted them to embroider Ringbearer on them and they would not do this - they can only put on names - we ended up putting his name on them but I thought Ringbearer would have been so cute.

We split up our brunch food for our pre-reception (thanks to Lurkyloo) and this worked out perfect. Everyone was able to get something to eat while we were having pictures taken.

I kind of figured that - we tried to get a nickname put on a hat a while back and they refused....I'm Ok with just the names as well.

Not sure when you are getting the ears done and how far in advance you will have them before the wedding.

Maybe you could make a black label (round about the size of one of the ears) and put the info you want about your wedding on it in the different color. You can then stick the label to one of the ears before the wedding.

We did the Mickey Milestone Tour last March and eveyone on the tour got ears. Our names were written on one of the ears using a paint pen - you could even do this if you get the ears prior to the wedding. Just get a paint pen in the color you want and write on one of the ears.

Thanks so much - great idea!!! I can probably get labels made here and send them to my planner to stick on the ears! WOW - I love the the ideas I get from people on here!

I also thought about the paint pen - but it means that somehow I would need to get to the ears prior to the set-up at the reception. That's a great second alternative though.

For the food tasting I am trying:-Yogurt Granola Martinis (I am thinking about having these for pre-reception)
-Seared Chicken Breast with granny smith apples, roasted fennel, and fig jus
-Pasta with Artichoke Cream sauce with veggies
-Berry crepes with grand marnier cream cheese

Cakes:
-Red Velvet
-Almond
-Lemon
-Chocolate

Fillings:
-Cream Cheese
-Amaretto
-Peanut Butter Cup
-Buttercream
-Tropical Mousse
-White Chocolate Mousse

I am still leaning towards chocolate with peanut butter cup mousse in one layer and either almond with amaretto OR lemon with cream cheese for the second layer - but whose to say that won't change based on trying these combos??!!?

Now I'm hungry.

And don't worry I'll take lot's of pics - I am a pro at "Disney food porn"...I take pictures of basically everything prior to tasting it.

I have only read the first few pages of your pj but I have to pop over and let you know that

1) I adore your newsletters. Like, absolutely 1000000% adore them. Is it totally bizarre that newsletters make me sort of sappy? I think they make the wedding so "real".

2) I also adore that you bought DVC membership in time for your wedding. I should really mention this to my man. ;)

Best of luck, and I'll keep reading on, but I just had to comment!

Thanks a bunch for the comments!

I also love my newsletters...the only funny/bad thing about them is that the entire wedding itself is now looking a bit different than the way it's laid out in them :) But my guests are pretty understanding!

I am also SO glad I bought into DVC - I can't wait to add on another 100 points - it was so nice to know I could add on the planning session and have the "free" accommodations (I like to think they're free even though I paid dearly for them).

I love all the changes...but I know how frustrating they can be.

Let me know how the peanut butter cup mousse comes out! We're huge reese's cup fans and are thinking about using it as our top layer, but since we don't get a tasting session, we're balancing on being creating and being conservative.

Breakfast at Captain Cooke's (I HAVE to try Tonga Toast!).

Your PS Trip sounds so fun and relaxing too! I just wanted to add that I wasn't aware that Captain Cooke's now served Tonga Toast too, I thought it was just Kona Cafe (on the 2nd floor). I could be wrong since I haven't stayed at Poly for a couple of years though, but just keep it in mind in case you get to Captain Cooke's and they don't have it.

Can't wait to hear about your tastings! I was thinking about getting a chocolate layer with the peanut butter cup filling for my df, unfortunately I can't try it since I am allergic to peanuts, but Reese's Peanut Butter cups is one of his favorites.

One week to my PS trip!!!

I updated my spreadsheet this morning with my own estimates of floral - let's see how close I come:

Bouquet (daisies with a few roses): $250
MOH Bouquet (small daisies only): $125
Bout $15
Bestie Flower (one long stem daisy with wrapped stem): $25
Hair florals (2 large daisies): $20
Chair covers x 16: $136
Basket of petals for toss: $50
Altar arrangements (basic): $200
Aisle Petals: $100
Table arrangements $250
Mickey Ears for placecards: $376
_____________________________________
Estimated total: $1,572
w/Tax and service charge: $2026

This would put me only $26 over budget!

I'm hoping I don't get all crazy while I'm there and forget about the budget. I am going to print it all out and take it with me as a reminder.

The only thing I may add is tablecloths for the Attic, and glow necklaces for the DP, and if necessary and I am over budget I MAY take away the table arrangements for the brunch.

You really won't know about prices at the PS. They will throw out a ton of ideas with no prices attached. You'll see prices when you get your BEOs a few weeks later.

They'll tell you at the PS that this is your time to go with your dream ideas and then see the what they cost when you get your BEOs and cut back from there.

I thought we were going to see prices during the sessions but not once were any prices mentioned. I just wanted to warn you because I was expecting one thing and didn't get to see any prices.

Thanks for the tip - I think I actually learned this from reading your PJ! I am more of a realist so they're going to have a pretty hard time getting me to "go with my dream ideas" instead of my logic. Since I have been on here endlessly I know a bit about what things cost so I hope to sort of keep track as things are added.

Are you tasting the dessert party items too? We are having the cinnamon flambe one but I haven't been able to hear from anyone who has had it at Disney. If it is an option can you take a bite for me :)

5 days till my PS!!!

And of course I have been trying to nail down some details....

Brunch Menus
I have narrowed it down to a couple of possibilities for menus. I really like Karen's (Boardwalk_Bride) menu, but am not sure if I want all breakfast foods, and it doesn't hit my minumum. So I am thinking of adding on one of 2 things:

1) Steak (possibly an action station but that may put me way over budget) - the only thing is I don't think I've ever seen steak on a buffet! Likely due to the rare, med rare, med, med well, and well thing....impossible to keep it all at the right "temp".

2) An Antipasto display would put us right at the minimum (which is where I'm trying to stay) and could be served befre the breakfast as we are getting photos done and people are filling out their guestbook pages.

All of this depends on whether or not the chicken and pasta win me over at my PS. If they do I'll stick closer to the "Tinkerbell's Brunch Buffet menu"...but somehow I think I'll be thinking of the delicious breakfast foods and want to go that route instead - mostly because we have a huge meal at HDDR later in the day.

GuestBook
So my original plan was to get postcards for each guests to put at their tables and self address/stamp them, and have people write us notes and get Amy or my MOH to mail them for us....but then I stumbled upon a thread about this topic where someone posted a link to guestbookstore.com. OH MAN - did I ever fall in love with their wedding guestbook!! So I bought one on the spot.

I figure that guests can pick at the "Pre-Reception" food and fill out the guestbook pages as they wait for us to arrive form our picture taking excursion around BW with our bridal party. This will save me photography time from later as well, as we were thinking we'd have to get a lot of our photos done after brunch, which means I'd have to pay for at least an extra hour. Randy said we can do the entire loop around Boardwalk in about 45 minutes, so that works well for me!

Can't wait for my PS - I am working 7 days straight prior to leaving so I will REALLY need the mini-vacay!

Have a great time on your trip!

Likely due to the rare, med rare, med, med well, and well thing....impossible to keep it all at the right "temp". The way that I've seen steak on a buffet is usually carved to order (action station). They roast a whole loin and you can get all temps from rare-well. The ends are well to med. well and the closer you get to the middle it becomes more med, med. rare, and rare. A good chef can get all temps in one loin. So you shouldn't be worried about that. If you want steak and like it a certain temp then tell them. That's what we did :goodvibes

OK what a great day - wow...first off I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE Amy and I'm so glad I got to keep her - she is awesome and I think she "gets me" which is a good feeling....I felt kind of like I was hanging out with a friend planning my wedding - but a really organized friend who knows the ins and outs of Disney weddings like crazy.

I didn't change much surprisingly...I changed the DP to the UK Upper instead of Morocco, the violinist to a guitarist, and the bottom layer of cake to Lemon with cream cheese filling. The Lemon cake is freaking A-MAZ-ING! The top layer I am sticking with the chocolate cake with peanut butter cup filling...it did not dissapoint!

And made some pretty dramatic changes to the menus....the food tasting was really an eye opener. The plan is so far:

Pre-Reception
Fruit and Pastries

Reception
Egg Station (omelets made to order)
Bacon and sausage
Cheddar and Chive hashbrowns
Crepes with cream cheese and wild berries with cream anglaise sauce (this is normally made with grand marnier but I didn't like the flavor it gave it, so the chef offered to re-create it with no grand marnier for me!)
Pasta with Artichoke Cream Sauce and julienned veggies (this was delish)
Wild Rice
Seared Chicken breast with apple, fennel, and fig jus (TO DIE FOR!)
more breads and pastries and stuff

Dessert Party:
Sunshine State Dessert Buffet (with a slight modification - taking away the strawberries and cream, cause HDDR has strawberry shortcake for dessert, and adding cream horns)
Panhandle Pecan Tarts
Key West Key Lime Tarts
Winter Haven Orange Tarts
Hastings Sweet Potato Buttons
Homestead Banana-Chocolate Brownies
Miami Guava-Cheese Pinwheels
Tarpon Springs Baklava
Cream Horns
Fresh Fruit Salad
Fruit Punch
Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, and Selection of Teas
Flavored Syrups and Sticks, Sugars, Cream, and Honey

All in all, it was an amazing experience - I can't believe how fast time flew by!

Laura was great as well - very easy to get along with and I think she really understands where I'm going with it all....she had great suggestions and I think she'll be able to do everything I want and stay in budget.

Very great experience....now just have to wait for the estimated BEO to see where I'm at! It's a bit scary but Amy seemed to think we could make it in at the budget I told her I have so that's reassuring!

Now off to swim off some of the massive amount of food I consumed today!

Did you get to hear the guitarist? We are having the Key West style guitarist and I really have no idea what that means. No one had a clip of him and I am just trusting in my planner.

Glad you are having a great time.

Nope - but I totally trust Amy's judgement. She told me she has heard the guitarist and knowing what she knows about me so far she thinks he'd suit our style...she's pretty great like that!

thanks I will try to get a clip at my wedding and share it with you. We are meaning to go pick up an inexpensive video camera and I have a Flip video camera too.

I have never met Amy but I just love her. I told her we have to get a picture together because she is kind of like my Maid of Honor. I don't actually have one and she puts up with all my questions, details etc.

Enjoy the rest of your trip. I can't believe I will be there in less than 2 weeks-yikes.

Thanks for posting all the details of your PS -- it sounds like it went great, and your menu sounds like it's going to be delicious! :thumbsup2

I have to confess that I got really jealous when I read how great things are going with your planner ... I feel like I'm in the opposite place with my consultant. I get conflicting information on a constant basis and sometimes I feel like I know more than she does thanks to Carrie's book and this board! I hope once I'm assigned a planner we have a better rapport. Your post makes it so clear how important and helpful it is to have someone who understands you and where you're going with everything.

Your post made my mouth water! I think deciding on food is going to be so hard. I don't think we will be able to go down for a PS :( so we will have to go off just what the menus say. I'm so glad you're having such a great time and that your planner is so awesome! Have fun!:cool1:

Keep in mind that each planner deals with most situations on a case by case basis...so even though you read it here on the boards or it was in the Passporter Book doesn't mean it's still valid info, or that it wasn't something that they just "bent the rules on" for someone. And the sales consultant isn't going to get into the details and sometimes does "glaze over" some stuff. I totally get that, and it did happen to me on some stuff...but I am also really really easygoing about most things so when things turn out not to be as I thought they would based on something I read here or on the boards I kind of just shrug my shouders and deal most of the time. It keeps me from driving myself crazy!

I do feel very lucky to have Amy, and to have kept her with me in this process even after changing to Wishes!

I totally get that (even though I'm just talking about basic stuff that I think she should be aware of -- like the names and availability of certain places, etc.), but your advice is really good. I just have to hang in there for a few more months 'til we get our planner. ;)

Sounds really great!! What exactly did you try at your tasting? I'm having mine in 3 weeks so I need to definitely come up with a menu to taste, and yours sounds really yummy. Any recommendations?

I tried the yogurt martinis but ultimately decided to cut them due to a nut allergy in one of my guests...they were amazingly delicious though!

I also tried the seared chicken with apple, fig and fennel - which made the cut cause it was some of the best chicken i had ever had.

I then tried the pasta with artichoke cream sauce - DELICIOUS!

Then came the grand marnier cream cheese stuffed crepes with berry sauce/creme anglaise....The chef could tell right away I kind of winced at the first bite (I don't drink at all - so a bit of booze is very noticeable to me)...he asked what in particular I didn't like about the dish (I hate this cause I am just not the type of person to ask a chef to change a recipe!)...I told him it was the grand marnier....he promptly replied..."I can leave it out and still make it taste just as good"! I kind of debated for a few minutes (i LOVE cream cheese) because I really didn't want him to have to make such a drastic modification...but he kept assuring me it was no big deal, and how it's "my day" and all they want is for me to love the food...so I added it on. I have a feeling it will be one of my favorite things on the menu!

The food tasting was an eye opener for me, as I originally wanted mostly breakfast items and very little of the "unch" part of brunch. But sitting down with the chef and Amy there to help me out was great, and they both strongly felt that at noon some people are just ready for lunch instead of all breakfast...but I'm keeping lots of the breakfast foods too, just in case.

Thank you so much for posting your tasting session. Your menu is almost identical to what we were thinking about so it is great to hear what you thought about everything! Hopefully I will be able to go down for a PS to taste everything too, but at least we get to go to our site visit in 3 months!

Also glad you posted what you thought of the cake flavors. I want to get the chocolate with peanut butter for one of our tiers because it is a favorite combination of my DF but I am allergic to nuts so I won't be able to try it. I never thought of the lemon one so I will definitely think about that choice too!

Glad your PS was wonderful and Amy was so helpful!

My final ADR changes have been made. I am doing a spilt stay for our last 5 days, and we are doing the Deluxe Dining Plan for the first 3 days, then no DP for the last 2. So now my ADRs for the honeymoon portions are:
Sept 30 - Artist Point dinner (then MNSSHP)
Oct 1 - CRT Breakfast, Narcossees dinner
Oct 2 - Boma breakfast, Cali Grill dinner
Oct 3 - paying OOP for 3 hour Safari with dinner at Jiko
Oct 4 - no ADRs - playing it by ear...I am considering booking the KTTW tour this day but not sure.

I can't believe I am only 3 months away from this trip...wow time flies!

Love the ADR's! You are going to a lot of places that I would like to try so I can't wait to hear how much you enjoy them! And I see that you are doing the MNSSHP, have you gone before? We are going on our disneymoon as well, and neither of us have been before so I am really excited about it!

We have done MNSSHP before - it was great...we basically went to all the candy stops first, then did a bunch of rides cause there were no lines for anything! We did Splash Mountain at night for the first time ever - loved it! We walked so much that my neice wore holes in the bottom of her Jasmine shoes!

The fireworks show for the Halloween party is also awesome!

OK so again, there are bad points to having everything planned with 3 months still to go...my mind wanders...and has now latched on to a new obsession.

Invitations/Itineraries...
I have already sent out 2 newsletters, and the Disney Save-the-Dates....but now I'm like "Well, we should have a nice, customized invitation with our final itinerary all done up pretty-like for our guests" (since everything has changed many times since those first newsletters).

Sigh - will this never end? When did I turn into "this type of bride"???

I am more than likely going to get them, as the only cure once I get one of these totally obsessive thoughts in my head is to just go ahead and do it...:rotfl:

All guests have RSVPed already, so I'm thinking something like this "Thank You for joining us in Walt Disney World for this truly special occasion...our Wedding Day" (wording not set in stone - I haven't figured out how I want it worded yet). Then our names and the date underneath, followed by a breakdown of the itinerary.

I am then going to get a second card made with "special instructions" including transportation, park tickets needed for dessert party, informal dress, etc.

So I'm hoping that I don't come up with too many of these ideas in the next few months, cause they all cost $$!

I am also considering programs...but I'll save the obsessing over that till later...

Happy Friday everyone!! I am now 91 days away from the start of this trip - my how time flies!!

Don't worry, I've turned into that "type of bride" also, about the most random things!!!! The really big things that a lot of other people get stressed out about I'm like, "eh, it will all work out" the little things, like the napkins and the placement of those in regards to the menu cards are what I stress about! :confused3 :lmao:

Though I found more and more that the same cure works for me..... :rotfl:

Your guests are going to really appreciate those details that you want to put in this thank you note/invitation idea. I think this new idea is a good one.

You are acknowledging them for making the out-of-town trip, and assisting them with ideas they may know nothing about (not like us crazy Disney fanatics).:wizard:
