Hey,

I had a few questions about fishing at the Fort.

We had heard you dont need a fishing license to fish on the property. Is that true?

Also what type of fish can you expect to catch there? Is it mostly bass, catfish, and crappie? what other species are there to try for?

Also I saw something about guides, is that through Disney or are they private guides?

You can get a guide from any of the resorts on the lake (you can even get a guide at Coronado springs to fish their small lake). In FW you can fish from the bank just about anywhere. You are correct Bass, Catfish, Bluegill, mudfish...... those are the main fish you will get. I have always had pretty good luck bass fishing there.... just takes some time to find the right places and times....

The Guided Fishing Excursions are at the Fort Marina,,they are costly $$,,but if you have the xtra cash,,go for it :thumbsup2 I love the Guided Excursions ! Up to 5 people can go on a Guided Excursion and it's a 2 hour trip,,they provide everything, all you have to do is show up at the appointed time.

You can fish any canal, pond and the lake at the Fort,,it's strictly catch and release and DO NOT fish the docks or the beach but the grassy shorelines are fine.
