We're currently booked 11/10 - 11/19, but considering switching to those exact same dates so we can catch ALL the Christmas decorations. We've never traveled during the holidays. Nervous about traveling on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. What's your experience with this week?

We're scheduled for November 26 - December 5th. This will be our first time doing the week AFTER Thanksgiving. We usually do the week OF Thanksgiving. We are excited!! :santa: Oh boy! Let's start planning now. Can you close your eyes and see it? I can... And, I love it!!

That is the week we plan on going at the end of the year. It should be interesting. From what I have read the first couple of days will be heavy crowds. But after that the World dies down pretty fast.

See you there!

We have our res. for Nov 28-Dec 5 at CBR. We did go one other time for the same week in 2000. It was the only time we were lucky enough to see the Christmas decorations! And it's value season and with the bounceback rate, 35% off, better than the orig PIN discount of 30% (we have AP and TIW) it won't cost much!

I received an email in Nov for various dates through Dec 16, 2010. It was for 40% off Deluxe, 30% off Mod and 20% off Values. I did book the nov/dec reservation for 2 rooms, but when we were in WDW last week the bounceback was for 35% off Mod so we applied that to save a little more. The bounceback range went through Dec 24 as well.

I got the pin for 20/30/40 with dates thru December, and booked Thanksgiving Week (Sun 11/21-Sat 11/27). However, the Wed, Thurs and Fri were black-out dates. I could not use the pin for those days.

But when we went for Thanksgiving week in 2008, I was able to use my discount for all the days. :confused3

I have to say I'm thrilled with how many people there are going at the same time!! I hope we all have a wonderful time!!!

Let's have a friendly thread and share lots of tips and tricks along the way!! Please feel free to ask lots of questions along the way. If anyone's starting a Pre Trip Report, post a link here and we'll be able to follow each other in our specific planning details too. I plan on starting one as well but haven't gotten there yet. Darn life keeps getting in the way!

I'll try to update the first post with everyone's additions.

So here are some questions to get us started (some of you have already answered some of these):

*Where are you staying?
*When are you going?
*Who's in your group?
*What is everyone hoping for as far as ADRS?
*What are you looking most forward to?
*Are you using any other site to help you plan?
*What are you doing to get in the Disney spirit now?

Our PTRs - if you're doing a PTR, post the link here. These have all been gathered from poster's signatures and I will gladly add more once I get the links.

I'll go first!

*Where are you staying? Off site in a home

*When are you going? Nov 27 - Dec 4

*Who's in your group? Myself, DH, DS5, DS3, our friends (boyfriend and girlfriend) and their kids, her DS14 and his DD13.

*What is everyone hoping for as far as ADRS? Crystal Palace breakfast, CRT breakfast, Ohana breakfast, Chef Mickey's breakfast

*What are you looking most forward to? The Christmas decorations, seeing the castle

*Are you using any other site to help you plan? Thinking about using Tour Guide Mike just because I'm nervous about going at such a busy time right after Thanksgiving

*What are you doing to get in the Disney spirit now? I'm listening to shoutcast.com's free Disney music! :goodvibes We're also gonna make a countdown calendar - maybe on Saturday - and we're always talking about what we want to see and do!

Love the holiday decorations!! We've never been this exact week so I'm not sure how the crowds will be. I'm sure busy probably Saturday and maybe Sunday morning but I'm hoping after that it'll be just us DISers! :goodvibes

Hopefully it's a great change with lots less people!! Oh I'm so ready to be there. We've never planned a trip so far away before so it's so super hard to wait for it to get here!!

I've heard the same thing. Let's hope it's right!! :goodvibes

Yup love that's it's value season! Exactly why we chose this time to go!

Well come on and book now will ya!?!?

YAY! I still remember taking my kids for the first time. Even now, having been like 6 times in two years, there's still new things every time and I love experiencing it with them!

I saw that too and tried but couldn't get signed up for it. I'm gonna keep trying though!!

Where are you driving from? I'm waiting right there with you!! I can't wait to start planning everything!!

That's wonderful news!!

We're super excited too!!

So glad some people have already been at this time! Hopefully you'll be able to help us with some experience along the way! :goodvibes

Glad you're booked! Sorry about the black out days

I recall worrying about this last Dec when we were there but it was later in Dec (around the 13th) and don't remember seeing too much of them.

Here's some pixie dust coming your way! We've invited a good friend here from the DIS to go with us and if their finances allow it sounds like they'll be coming! Can't we just grow some money trees?? :rolleyes1

Thanks! I wasn't sure where it should have went!

YAY! Free dining would be awesome! It might be better for us to book seperate rooms on site for the free dining....ugh. I hate deciding between more space and "free" food....

We can't wait either!! :goodvibes

Good luck with the finances! We fall into the "value" season but I'm sure that Thanksgiving week is one of the more expensive times to stay there.

Just wondering How do you reference all the quotes. I know how to do one but not more. thanks!

I see you list Hilton Head as your home. We were supposed to stay there on Fri night but cancelled due to the snow. We just wanted to stay on 95 instead of venturing off the road in snowy weather. Did it snow there too? It did in Savannah! Thanks again.

Yes it did snow on Friday. Honestly it wasn't bad. I think we got about an inch here. We're from MI (moved here about two and a half years ago) so it was nothing for us as far as driving or anything. It was awesome though to hear my kids get so excited! We moved when they were 1 and 3 so the little one didn't really remember snow. To hear them get so excited over it was just the best thing ever.

Ohh I don't think Darien's too far from us - I've heard about it on the news! :rotfl: I'm sure you can do it!! We drive from Hilton Head to just north of Detroit every summer to visit family and it takes about 18 hours when we drive straight through. It's a long drive but it's so much easier for us driving straight through - much happier kiddos. I think it will be exciting for you guys to stay and be excited on "Disney Eve"!!! We're about 5 hours from Disney and that drive through Jacksonville (I think that's it - DH drives cause I'd go crazy!!) with all the skyscrapers and stuff is rough sometimes! The best part is (for us) when you start to see the Disney billboards and you know you're getting close!! Have a very safe drive!! Hopefully no snow on the roads and no traffic or anything at all.

Alright I updated the first post with everyone who's replied so far and the information that I had from their posts. Feel free to update more information and I'll do my best to keep things as updated as possible.

Is anyone worried about the Fantasy Land contruction during their trip?? I'm hoping we get to see Mickey and Minnie's houses "one last time". I'm sure the lines will be super long with everyone else having the same mentality. I also hope that the Barnstormer is working just as lovely as ever! Our last trip both my boys were able to ride and had a wonderful time and they're looking forward to riding that ride.

Yes, I know it wasn't much but going to Hilton Head would have added about 40 or so miles so we decided to cancel since we did have to travel the next day about 850 miles home to NJ.

Yes, in Port Wentworth when we arrived about 7 pm it started to snow. We went to eat something and everyone was so excited about the snow. It was really snowing! It snowed about 1-2 inches overnight and the whole drive home had snow on the ground (not 95 just trees, grassy areas) We got home to about 18 inches where we are in NJ, the south got much more!!

Title pretty much says it all! Who wants to plan a late November/early December trip with me? We can keep each other up to date with changes to park hours and the like.

Here are our planning buddies:

disneyfan55
*Where are you staying? CBR

*When are you going? Nov 28 - Dec 5 We may leave the 4th since we are driving and my daughter and son in law don't think they can take Mon. off as well.

*Who's in your group?
Me, my husband, daughter, son in law and grandson.

*What is everyone hoping for as far as ADRS?
O'Hana's and Teppan edo. We ate at a few new places last week when visiting, and I felt the quality when down and prices up. We have TIW so we will decide over the next few months.

*What are you looking most forward to? Seeing the Christmas decorations again. In all the trips we (my daughter and I only ) have gone once for that and really enjoyed seeing the decorations and MVMCP.

*Are you using any other site to help you plan?
I check allears for menu updates and WDW site for park hours and any specials going on keep watch for AP discounts better than the PIN or bounceback rate we have now of 35% off. We really have a good price since it's value season for the week we go!

*What are you doing to get in the Disney spirit now?
We were just there last week so WDW is fresh in our minds!

This reminds me of the cruise critic and planning for a specific cruise! Nice job!

Wow!! I did miss the snow and it was so great to see it snow. If that could just happen every couple of years here it would be great! :goodvibes Port Wentworth's not far from us - we live in the town before Hilton Head, not on the actual island which is nice.

Thanks! Just a fun way to get to "know" everyone. Maybe some of the details will spark a question or some tips or something for someone too which is always great! And lucky you for just coming back!!! We went 5 times in a year - last time being Sept 2009 - and that was the best. We're getting APs for this trip so hopefully we'll have lots of "little" trips throughout the year!!

You're welcome! Lucky you are close enough to do that! Yes, we get an AP and go 2 or 3 times and then wait and get a new one. Our last AP expired midMay 2009 and we just went back Feb 5-12! I don't think we'll get another trip in between now and Nov but it's ok!

I'm a lurker too but ask lots of questions when I've got time. I'm thinking about signing up for TGM for this trip.

ADRS= Advanced Dining Reservations, a must for table service dining; at least any place good ;)

Thank you!! :goodvibes

My husband and I arrive on 12/5. We are at Bay Lake Towers until the 12th. This trip is just the two of us.

You're staying at the place my DH is dreaming of staying!

Welcome to the group everyone!! I know we'll have a great time planning together and we'll all have awesome trips!!

Welcome!! I'm hoping to start my PTR today but real life's just getting in the way! :headache:

Is anyone thinking about doing photopass on their trip? We're doing on for ours. I think we've done one for just about every trip. The only one we "missed" was our "surprise" trip in July (I surprised DH and DS5 - told them at the FL welcome center where we were going). I had the photopass pictures but never got the cd and they were some of the best photopass pictures I'd ever had taken...:sad1: I'm still kicking myself to this day over that! So for us, it'll probably be photopass every time. You just never know what you're gonna get!

Welcome! I hope you have a great time with your in laws! We took DH's mom in Sept two years ago and had a good time.

I've "officially" started my PTR for the trip - link's in my signature if anyone wants to come over and check it out. Not too much else going on right now. Once the park hours come out and we can start making ADRs then the fun begins! :)

Since DH and I are going solo I think we will for sure get the Photopass cd preordered... We have done it the last 2 trips and always get great family shots that we wouldn't have otherwise...

I just saw in on your ticker that you're going for your 30th bday - Happy Birthday!! (sorry I missed that before!) :goodvibes My birthday's the 13th and someone is going at the same time is having a birthday too!! I would love to go to Disney for my 30th! Maybe we could convince the entire family to come down! I don't know if that would be fun or a total nightmare! :rotfl:

We'll pre order our photopass too so we can save some money there. I like know I've ordered it before we left so I make more of an effort to use it while we're there since I've already paid for it.

http://www.orlandovillas.com/Map.aspx

Here's a map. Just click on the right and it will show you where the various communities are located. We stayed at Indian Point just off of Hwy 192 last time. It was about 15 minutes from WDW. Not far really, but we got lost coming out of the parks every night until finally a nice Security guard gave us clear directions of how to get back to 192. We're going armed with GPS this time. ;)

Here's another map: http://www.disney-holiday.co.uk/kissimmee_map.html

Here's some pictures of Sunset Lake community if you're computer can open the link. http://www.vr360tour.com/homes/u2918src/

Sunset Lakes is closer to WDW than Indian Point and on the other side of I-4... the same side as WDW. Here's a couple of pictures of Sunset Lakes. - Looks very nice to me. http://www.disney-holiday.co.uk/updated%20pictures/lake_cabana_lge.jpg - http://www.disney-holiday.co.uk/updated%20pictures/kiddi_park_lge.jpg

Here's a link to the villa we're renting. http://www.disney-holiday.co.uk/

Price was $1287.00 for 9 nights, including electric pool heat, fees and taxes. We paid $250.00 to hold the house which goes towards the balance which is due Sept. 3rd. They also require a $300.00 refundable damage deposit at that time. We paid the same damage deposit last time and I had it refunded within 3 weeks of our return home.

We don't spend a lot of time at the house, but when we do, it's wonderful to not be cramped into a hotel room. The family LOVED the private pool... used it every night.

We too love all things Disney! :goodvibes

Great report! We were there for a long weekend over my birthday (Dec 13) in 2008 and the crowds were very light so I'm hoping going earlier will mean even lighter crowds!!

*What are you doing to get in the Disney spirit now? Read DIS Trip Reports, Watch home movies of our Disneyland vacations, browse pictures of our one and only WDW vacation, watch Disney movies.

That's one thing I wish I would have done is take video. I've taken the camera a couple of times but never used it - the video camera that is! I take way too many pictures! :rotfl: I'd love to save up and get a new fancy DVD camcorder before we go. That would be great!

You're going to be there the exact same time as us! We're renting a villa too, but in Sunset Lake. Only way to go when you have lots of people! There are 8 of us going! Already bought our plane tickets and paid for the villa. We're not excited or anything! :lmao:

That's awesome! Wish we could say the same...I can't wait to have the house paid off and have one less thing to worry about.

Have you stayed at SL before?? is it really nice? We may look at another community other than WH to get more space for cheaper!

That's always a good plan! :goodvibes We're thinking we're gonna stay in Crescent Lakes here: http://www.orlandovillas.com/florida-vacation-rental-388.aspx. I've never stayed in WH or SL before. We've done condos through friends or Hotwire and always had good luck. I'm excited about having a huge house to spread out, make our own meals and our own pool to use whenever we want!! :goodvibes

I really hope you're right. Some of the posts I have read about MVMCP have mentioned very heavy crowds in December. I like your post much better. :goodvibes

Sorry it took so long for the updates....the nasty stomach bug has hit our house and I'm finally recovering. DH's home with the boys today...he and DS5 are still dealing with the bug but DS3 (who had it Sunday) is all wound up and ready to go! :rotfl:

So if I'm understanding correctly, November hours should be up in March and December in April correct??

It looks like (according to this calculator http://pscalculator.net/pscalc.php) that I can start making ADRs in May but since we're not staying on site, I'll have to call every day and make the ADRs right? I've done this before but it's been awhile and I can't remember.

For those going with bigger groups, how are you "planning" or are you just not planners at all?? We're going with our good friends and their kids and I've told them we're (our family) making a plan and they can do whatever - meet us during the day or go with our plan on whatever. We went with different friends about a year ago and they really slowed us down a lot spending every minute of every day together. On a previous trip with yet a different set of friends, they stuck with us most of the time and we got so much done and it was great. The friends we're going with this time have two teenagers so I'm thinking they're gonna do later mornings and later evenings where we do super early mornings and semi - late evenings. I'm planning a couple of Disney nights to kind of figure out what everyone wants to do and stuff but would love feedback from some others who are/have gone with a group.

We always visit the Disney parks with a group. We've visited DL so often that I don't really use a plan, but WDW is a whole other thing. I'm using TourGuideMike and may get Ridemax as well to help with the logistics of what park to visit on what days and when to collect FPs and ride the attractions.

The ages of our group going in November are 58, 58, 35, 30, 21, 20, 14 & 11. Trying to please such a diverse age group will be a challenge. The one and only time that we've been to WDW was in 2005. My one regret was not taking enough time at Epcot. I've told my family that I'm spending an entire day in this park and at my own pace. I'm going to see what I want to see this time. If they're bored with the whole visiting other countries thing, then take the monorail over the MK or go to DHS and take in some thrill rides. That's why we're purchasing Park Hoppers.

I don't know what it is about my family, but they tend to cling to Mom when we do things like this. Maybe because they know I do so much research and planning so they think I actually know what I'm doing. :rotfl: Even when we go to DL, a park they know like the back of their hands, I can't seem to shake my offspring. :lmao:

I'm really hoping for some slow, quiet time with my husband of nearly 40 years. One of my favorite memories of our trip in 2005 was when DH and I took the boat that goes over to Morocco. It was just the 2 of us and so peaceful. We rarely have the time to just sit quietly and hold hands anymore. I hope we get the chance to make another memory like that on this trip.

Ridemax - I'm not familiar with that. I'm thinking about getting TGM as well just because I'm worried about the crowds.

That is a wide age range but I bet you'll be ok! :goodvibes We usually do a park in the am and a park in the pm for four days (one park in an am and one in a pm - usually different parks in the same day) then take any "extra" days we might have and "redo" anything we really love. We've always only been for like "long weekends" and spent four or five days. As much as I love Disney, I love being at home too and am not one for long, extended vacations. I think this will be our longest yet (8 days this time) so it should be interesting!

My kids are clingers too and won't even go with their dad so I can venture off and take pictures or anything. Although, last night I was told that my little one's gonna hold "daddy and Miss Marcia's hands but not yours!". :rotfl: So maybe I'm on the right track by bringing other people and distracting them!

Sounds very romantic! I hope you get that time with your hubby!!

Hey you may be on to something with bringing the whole family drama for a distraction... :scratchin

:rotfl: It'll hit me eventually and I generally cry half the time at Disney anyways (happy tears of course!) so it's probably better that I have my "breakdown" there! :rotfl2:

Welcome to the group everyone!! I know we'll have a great time planning together and we'll all have awesome trips!!

Happy Bday to you too!

We loved WH in 2008, it is sooo close to the parks. Our townhouse was perfect and it was so easy to work with the owners. This time I wanted to stay at Bonnet Creek but my hubby really wanted to go back to WH. So I gave in:)

TGM is great. In 2008 we went in July and it was a breeze touring with his plans.

I looked into BC this year too and liked it but thought the price was a little bit high. I always stress so much over picking the "right" place and we always make it work while we're there so I don't know why I stress so much over it!

Yeah I used them for our Sept 08 trip (I think that's the one! :goodvibes). It was a lot to try and learn (I'm not a techie) and I'm sure I didn't get it all but I would use it again for the "best days".

I forgot to mention that we got our maps in the map yesterday. This time we ordered the Dumbo ones and they're ADORABLE! The boys love them!! It didn't long at all which is super great. I just ordered them at the beginning of the month.

Anyone else worried about the parade taping? I've read that it usually takes place the first Friday and Saturday of December and that Main Street is CRAZY packed! As cool as it would be to see, I don't know that I'd be ok with committing two days of my vacation to that. It also means that I need to plan accordingly if we go to MK either of those days!

I am a little concerned about the parade taping too. On the days of the taping are the other parks less crowded??? Maybe we should avoid MK those days. Any advice for those that have been there at that time??

We were there last year and the taping didnt effect us at all. I think once you get past main street you will be fine.

Ooh that's good to know!

I've got to update my stuff in the first post - on a whim last night we decided to add three more nights to our stay!!! :cool1::cool1: Thankfully we'll be buying APs so the only additional cost will be nights at the house we're renting. This will give us some time to actually enjoy the house as well as Disney. We're also hoping for one morning to do "Grinchmas" at Universal. I love the Grinch almost (probably a touch more maybe) than I do Disney so that would be a perfect morning!!! My boys also love the Grinch so either this year or next year it's a "must do" for us.

Grinchmas is breakfast with The Grinch himself! Considering my boys and I can tell you the words from the cartoon and book without it in front of us, I'd say we're pretty addicted. :rolleyes1 Why, just this morning I was picking on DS3 about his "Cindy Lou Who hair" (his hair was all sticking up on top!).

LOL I don't think so. I was in a training all day yesterday. Today I investigated AAA and what discounts that could provide us. It seems like it would be a good deal so we're thinking about that. We can purchase tickets at a discount and get the diamond parking so we're considering it. We also travel quite a bit so having the extra coverage isn't a bad idea. I'm hoping to spend some planning time this weekend!!

Did you try to get a pin or do you stay off site? AAA is pretty nice. Like say your with your friend and her car breaks down as long as an AAA holder is in the car they tow them. So it's nice :)

No we're staying off site. We'd have to stay DVC for all of us to stay together. I don't know if you can use a pin for that or not. We're renting a 7 bedroom house with a private pool and I'm sure we'll enjoy all the extra space we'll have.

My DH and I are planning to make this trip as special for us as we are for our kids. We went ahead and set aside all that we needed to now to cover sitters, since we won't have family going with us to help - and plan on taking a few nights out just for ourselves. I cannot wait.

We stayed at POR last time and absolutely loved it. I was really pleased with the room size - cleanliness and just the general beauty of the grounds. We had a new towel character each day as well. Awesome staff :D

Do you have the Grand Floridian Cafe on your list? We've been for lunch and dinner and both DH and I both say that it was one of our top meals every time we've been. It's never super busy so you should be able to go any time. If you do an early dinner, you can go out the back doors and watch Wishes from the deck outside which is nice too.

In all the years of us visiting WDW, our first time was Sept 2008 for lunch. We also just ate there for lunch in Feb. It's very good food with a variety and the show is cute. For lunch (esp with TIW) it's a good deal I think. I think for dinner they add a few things but it wasn't worth it for us but if on DDP it won't matter for you except for the tip amt.

I agree with Amber. we had planned on taking our vacation last year but for reasons beyond our control we didn't. So for over a year i have went on and priced, changed, canceled and ordered anything and everything. We didn't get a PIN, that I remember but when we called WDW to price out my wife asked and sure enough we had a PIN that is good till 12-16-10. My in-laws are going also and I signed them up and and listed my wife's email address for them and the next day they received the same PIN. Its worth setting up multiple email accounts and signing up for everything!!

We've done all of that for the past couple of years (through our last trip and this one) - Nada. We can hope, but we're not banking on anything. I'm already booked, and have made several (legitimate) calls inquiring on some info of late and double check on pin codes each time - still nothing. It's all up to the marketing dept I think, and they just don't have love for us x-urban Chicagans, LOL. Heck - I even have a second planning DVD on it's way, since I lost the other one (seriously - how lame am I).

Anyway - that's alright, I told the guy today that for us it just means that we won't be adding on a couple more days to our trip (which was our secret plan).

On to weather and what to consider.... I have little ones going, one boy will be just shy of his 7th birthday (we're celebrating while there) the other closing in on 4yo. Are we talking pants and short sleeves w/jackets at night. Shorts w/jackets - or what? We're from chicago, so we're used to low 60's (sometimes high 50's) at night being 'summer' w/80-90 during the day, LOL.

At the end of Nov it can be either warm/cool or cold. We visited that week a few years ago and wore everything from shorts (only during the day) to long pants and jackets in all the evenings. We were just there in Feb and FL really was experiencing a cold spell with 30-40 at night and in the 40s in the am. Some days only were in the 50s with rain! You can never tell. You kind of should bring all types of clothe.

I guess it's a good thing we're driving, and that we have a mini van. I can just load up some storage tubs of clothes, and swap out what we need in to suit cases before we check in (or as needed during the trip). We kind of have to bring a variety anyway for the trip - but how much is something to keep in mind.

question on character meals

We got the DDP for our trip in Dec 5-12th. I have a couple of questions since we have never done the DDP and the last time my Wife and I visited WDW was in 1998. We now have 2 boys(6 and 2) with one on the way that will be 8 mos at the time we go.

During the time we are going its listed as a "value season", will the character meal locations be packed?

We are trying for CP, Liberty Tree, Biergarten right now. What are others that you had good interaction at?

Also would you recommend breakfast or lunch for the interaction meals?

thanx

If you're talking breakfast character dining - our very best experience was an 8:15 am ADR at Tusker House (Donald's Breakfast). Donald, Daisy, Minnie, Micky, Goofy & Pluto all showed up. It was before the park opened - so the characters were available and came through. The breakfast buffet was also the best we had while at Disney. Each character stopped at the table, and took time to pose, sign autographs and kiss. My boys were 5 and 2 (celebrating his 2nd birthday). Daisy brought him a cupcake, and all the characters gave him a signed birthday card. That was probably the most magical moment of our trip - next to the fireworks and racetrack of course.

If you go early to Tusker - you also have a great chance of getting on the Kilimanjaro safari before the line picks up. Early morning was a fantastic time for us to see all the animals - our guide said it's usually the best time of the day. And we did see every one, including the elusive Cheetahs. That ride isn't far from the trains that take you up to Rafiki and back down.

You mention CP - are you referring to Crystal Palace? If so, I'll be honest, that was the worst of our entire trip. It was honestly so bad - we complained. The server that never came back to the table. The characters that barely made it around before we were done eating. Feeling rushed out by the people marking available tables hovering over us (I understand they needed the tables, but we had the ADR for the characters). And the cold, over cooked - very, very bad food. Not a highlight, very forgettable. The only thing about it was that it was the only real option in Magic Kingdom.

This time I'm thinking out of the box for MK day, and leaving the park for TS. Kona at Poly in the AM before the park opens - coupled with the (free - yay - boat ride), and Whispering Canyon at WL for Dinner. WC was a BLAST. My older son could not stop laughing the entire time, "Anybody have any ketchup!!!". Too much food - but oh so good. And of course - free boat ride there as well. Best part was on the return we saw the early fireworks at MK and all these lit up structures along the shores as we came around.

Wow you guys have been busy! :goodvibes

I agree that the weather the year we were there in Dec was super nice during the day and super cold at night - the wind was terrible one night and we froze! We're from MI and have only lived in SC for a couple of years so we're still "used to" the cold. We're driving as well and packing for just about anything (which I usually do anyways! :rotfl:) Thankfully we're renting a pretty big house so I just have to be able to get it in the van to get there and leave enough room for my purchases on the way home! :rolleyes1

I'm still tossing the free dining in my head...I really hope it's offered for everyone. I'm hoping for an affordable way to stay on site to be able to get the free dining too...maybe I'll figure something out. :surfweb:

I'm so ready for park hours to come out so I can start figuring out some general park days!

I was reading about Tusker last night. That will probably be a must do, exactly for what you said about the safari!!
We are staying at WL so I plan on one dinner on at WC. I have read the interaction there with the servers are very good!!

Yea on Crystal Palace, I have read both ways, some families had a blast and others said it really bad. I am still out on this one, esp since its Pooh and Tigger, my boys are all about Mickey, Goofey and the gang. I think that one will be a last minute 180 day out decision.

What about the crowds during the time we are going? Dec 5-12... I read that some places that take ADR were not full and it was no wait time on getting a table?

I've not been during that time of the year, but I've read the same thing as you. I've been the week of thanksgiving and spring break. Both completely, maddening insane - but I still managed to get in where I wanted for the most part. Le Cellier I didn't get until the day of - but I got in. Our stay will be the 26th-4th, but most of our scheduled ADRs will probably start the 28th for flex purposes and anticipating crowds. With 180+10, we're expecting problems the 26th-27th with it being the end of Turkeyday weekend, but from what the CMs, AAA TA, and others here have told me - we're banking that we'll get what we want after that point. And that's okay, because we're actually planning to resort hop (visit/photograph and see DTD) the first two days, just to avoid the park crowds and take in the Christmas decor.

Oh yeah that's another one of my faves! Thanks for sharing!!

They have "sales" quite often so there's no hurry if someone wants to make one. I also want to look at artscow.com. They seem to be very cheap but the same quality as a site like shutterfly. The 8x8 60 page book on artscow was $30 and on shutterfly the same book would have been $60 - I could make two books on the "other" site for what I could on shutterfly. :scared1: That's a big price difference!! I just need to check into them a bit more before I committ to something - I'm a commitmentphobic! :headache:

No problem! I've read many different threads - especially on the Creative DISigns board - of people using them without problem. I do believe they're over seas so it takes things longer to get here than you might expect. That's the only "complaint" I recall coming across about them.

We have the 2009 Unofficial guide for kids from our last trip which was nice, then picked up the 2010 for adults at the library. Also (if you're at the library), and see the 09 or 10 Florida Eye Witness Guide - it lists some great info on the parks.

For avid droid, iphone or blackberry users, my DH is planning our trip drive and itinerary using TripIt. You can forward emails through it, and it will load in all your ADRs, Park Itineraries, google maps, etc. Dh was telling me something about when it comes time to communicate with IPO to just give them some email addy he set up and everything would auto-load in to TripIt - then it lays out in a calender form. From there, you can click on the day - see the park, click on it - click on some link or something. I don't know - sometimes he gets too techie for me, I guess that's why he's an engineer :rotfl:

I also saw this on my FB page today - if anyone plans on driving, this looks like an awesome time suck for kids (and maybe my DH too :lmao:) I'm thinking we might need a couple of these.

Oh yay, I'm so joining in on this one!
DH and I are staying at AKV(possibly WL) split stay POFQ (our favorite hotel). We are going for 10...possibly 11 nights. November 24 or 25-December 5th. We can't wait! We are going all out on this vacation.

We decided to do the DxDP again (we LOVE food!), we are also going to do V&A's, MVMCP, an Illuminations Cruise, GF tea party, Behind the Magic Tour, Universal Studios, POR carriage ride, and lunch with an Imagineer. We are also considering doing ICE at Gaylord Palms, not sure though, I haven't heard much about it. Also hoping the Wishes dessert party will be back by then.

We are hoping for ADR's at Flying Fish, Jiko, CG, Narcoossee's, V&A's, Boma, Citricos, Brown Derby, CRT, Raglan Road and probably a few others.

The only other site I use to help plan is DisneyWorld.com. We are going in 26 more days to hold us over until our big Christmas time trip. We are so excited to see all the Christmas decorations and see Osbourne Lights again.

You'll have to be careful around Thanksgiving. I'm guessing there will be some black out dates for codes. If "free" dining is announced, it's usually best to have something already booked and be able to just add the code to the morning it's available. Calling to see if you have a code works too as many people find out that way and don't receive any other notification about having a code attached to their name.

Once you book, give us all the details so I can add you to the first post :goodvibes

We've done it all too on both my husband's and my email accounts and have only gotten a code once on a postcard after we'd already found a place off site. That's another option for you too, especially since you're driving, is just staying off property. That can save you quite a bit.

Thank you. We will be booking very very soon and I will ask, once we call. We are actually thinking about flying down, from the A/C Airport, but with all that is going on, isn't it hard just to get your bags on and you can't bring those neccessary items on board and we don't want to pay high prices for our bathroom items. Also, staying on property is what we've always done, just for the kids, and if we stayed off property, how would we get around without renting a car or taking a shuttle that would probably leave earlier from the Parks than we expect? Just a little info. Thank you again.

*When are you going? Dec 4-11
*Who's in your group? Me (Michelle), Hubby, Son- William (3) and DH's parents (first trip!)
*What is everyone hoping for as far as ADRS? Crystal Palace breakfast, Chef Mickey's breakfast, Le Cellier dinner (or lunch), Teppan Edo dinner, JIKO dinner, Ohana dinner (then some meals in the room since we have a kitchen for the first time!)
*What are you looking most forward to? sharing the magic with first timers. Watching our son enjoy the 'snow' again! Trying out JIKO. Staying in BLT! Watching WISHES from the lounge at BLT!
*Are you using any other site to help you plan? allears.net

We haven't flown in a couple of years so I can't tell you about the restrictions. My in laws fly a lot to come down and visit and they've never had any problems. My understanding is that the restrictions would only be on your carry on bags - you would be able to pack liquids and stuff in your checked baggage.

Most off site places have shuttles or you'd have to rent a car yes. For us, we drive so we don't have to worry about the car rental.

We are going Dec 11-18 to celebrate my daughter's college graduation!:woohoo:

We are most likely staying offsite again, as last time we discovered just how wonderful a vacation can be when you have a four bedroom home to spread out in, rather than all four of us squished into a tiny hotel room. No reservations yet though.

It will be me, dh, dd 22, and ds 19 and will be our 5th trip to the world but our very first trip in December!:santa: So excited!

We're not big on Disney dining, so ADR's are not a huge thing with me. We'll cook breakfast in our "home", do a counter service lunch, and most dinners will be offsite or takeout on the way back to the house. We'll snack in the park, of course! Dole Whips are must-haves, as are buckets of popcorn, and all the world showcase goodies!:goodvibes

We are planning on MVMCP but no idea what night we want to shoot for.

Looking forward to touring all the deluxe resorts to check out the Christmas decor!

I'm pretty nervous about airfare at that time of year. Checked American and found $97 to get us there but $287 to get us home!:scared1: Needless to say, I did not book yet. Hoping Airtran will have a better deal when theirs opens up for December.

Happy planning, everybody!

*Where are you staying? POFQ (DH and fam are from New Orleans..I find it ironic that we are staying here. It's the cleanest FQ they will ever see! :rotfl:) it's our FAVORITE Mod resort!

*When are you going? Dec 4-11
*Who's in your group? Me, my husband, our son (will be 8 yrs old), husband's Mom, Dad and sister. *What is everyone hoping for as far as ADRS? CP dinner package at Le Cellier, Chef Mickey's (first night tradition), LTT(for MVMCP), Ohana, 1900 Park Fare (with Cinderella)....
*What are you looking most forward to? just being in WDW again for the wonderful Christmas season and sharing it with more family!

From there, you can click on the day - see the park, click on it - click on some link or something. I don't know - sometimes he gets too techie for me, I guess that's why he's an engineer :rotfl:

I also saw this on my FB page today - if anyone plans on driving, this looks like an awesome time suck for kids (and maybe my DH too :lmao:) I'm thinking we might need a couple of these.
http://learningexpressblog.typepad.com/blog/2010/01/toy-review-perplexus-new-for-2010.html

Thanks so much for the "tripit" tip. I JUST downloaded it on my G1 and can't wait to start using it!!!!:banana::banana:

We're going too!

*Where are you staying? FW Cabins. We tried them last year, and it was a hit even with DH.

*When are you going? 11/25 - 12/4

*Who's in your group? Me, DH John, and DDs Madison & Makayla (will be 7)

*What is everyone hoping for as far as ADRS? A lot. Would like to try Ohana for dinner, Crystal Palace & Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Those will be 1st for us. Then favorites like HDDR, Bierngarten, 1900 Park Fare, Tony's, Askerhush, and several more.

*What are you looking most forward to? MVMCP, the campfire at FW and just looking at the campsite decorations again. My DH bought a used golf cart and is fixing it up for this year, just to see the sites.

*Are you using any other site to help you plan? allears.net And some friends who are addicted to planning.

*What are you doing to get in the Disney spirit now? My DDs love to look at the maps. So we go through our Passporter and try to figure out new rides to try, and they like to figure out old ones if they can find them. We have made our mousekeeping envleopes already - and remember special moments from the previous trips.

question on character meals

We got the DDP for our trip in Dec 5-12th. I have a couple of questions since we have never done the DDP and the last time my Wife and I visited WDW was in 1998. We now have 2 boys(6 and 2) with one on the way that will be 8 mos at the time we go.

During the time we are going its listed as a "value season", will the character meal locations be packed?

We are trying for CP, Liberty Tree, Biergarten right now. What are others that you had good interaction at?

Also would you recommend breakfast or lunch for the interaction meals?

thanx

I've never tried Biergarten..but have heard good things about it. As far as character interaction at CP and LTT...I agree with other posters on hear about CP...Character interaction is not the greatest. DS was 3 or 4 the last time we ate there and he LOVED Pooh and Tigger! We barely had enough time to see them before we were done eating. Actually if I remember correctly we had to hang around until we got to see them all..and we are NOT fast eaters. They were very brief at each table..so we were disappointed. Also the service was terrible!! Will not be adding CP to our list again. LTT was completely different. Character interaction was GREAT! The characters spent ample time at each table playing with the kids (and adults..as I have a picture with Chip trying to pick my nose....:rotfl2:) We saw each character at least twice before we left. :cheer2: Good luck and happy planning!!

Ok...I LOVE this thread and need to stop posting for today..but I should have added in my intial post that our first night will be spent at the DTD Hilton. This is another tradition of ours. We like to have a "vacation" night before our vacation..to get us in the mood. So, we head down SUPER early the day before our vacation actually starts and check into a DTD resort. (Hilton is by far our fav) We spend the day relaxing then head over to DTD for dinner and window shopping. It's the PERFECT way to start our vacation. Especially at Christmas when everything is decorated so beautifully!:santa:

November 28 - December 4 at POP. Our first time (and I know definitely not our last) staying at a WDW Resort. We (Me, DH, DD, DS) are so excited! Disney twice in the same year!! Ah, the things we do for love ...

And we are so excited for the DDP!! When we booked, the CM over the phone mentioned something about the Liberty Tavern (?? We're not too familiar with the table service restaurants). We've read and heard good things about The Crystal Palace (and DH and DD just love Pooh), so we're looking forward to making an ADR for that.

We're not familar with any of the restaurants in Epcot (although I just listened to a scathing review about the Rose and Crown on the DIS Unplugged podcast), AK or HS. But that's why I have you guys. :) We also just bought 2 books: 2010 Birnbaum's Guide and Mousejunkies.

We weren't planning on going back until February 2011, but after a recent visit with some hardcore Disney friends (who were raving about WDW at Christmastime), DH and I just looked at each other and said, "Why not?"

I'm already really nerding-out on this end. I've made a few tees for the kids to wear and I've started a Disney playlist on my iPod. "What's This?" from The Nightmare Before Christmas was one of the first songs I purchased from iTunes (but I'm always on the lookout for suggestions).

We just can't wait to see how WDW is decorated for the holidays. We've heard wonderful things!! :santa:

Hi All!! So looking forward to our Xmas trip! We will be in the world Dec 9-16. Got a pin code so we decided to go with AKL Savannah View room.

This will be my husband (Glen) and stepsons (Ethan) first trip to the parks. Hubby has stayed in the resorts for conferences before, but that's it.

We are really looking forward to all the decorations and the whole experience. I want to see all of teh parades since I haven't stopped to wath them since I was Ethan's age (8). Ethan of course wants to do ALL of the rides and Glen just keeps saying "Whatever you and Ethan want to do is fine" :rotfl2: Boy is he in for a world of hurt!

The two places we have all agreed upon for dining are Tony's in MK and Whispering Canyon at WL.

We have been using The DIS, allears.net, UG, the Birnbaums guide to the World for Kids.

Can I join in this planning party??

I am going with my two best friends, Kelly, who went with me last December, and Lacy who has NEVER BEEN! It will also be Miss Lacy's 26th birthday, so woohoo! We are going Dec. 9-13 and staying at Coronado Springs! :)

Going for Thanksgiving for the 3rd year in a row. Very excited! This is DH's first time to go for the holidays. He is always hunting and never goes during this time. I am hoping to go to the MVMCP on the Sunday we are there which is the 28th. Waiting on those November hours and for ADR!

I'll be there Nov 15-20!

Going with DH, DS (22 months at the time) and my parents.

Staying at ASMu family suite.

ADR are up in the air. I want to eat at Ohana and my parents want Plaza Restaurant. It will depend on if we get free dining for how many places we book for TS.

Hello all!! Thanks for the invite to the AWESOME post newtodis!!!!! I've been looking for something posted about December vacations! We are SO excited!!! We experienced Christmas in Disney for the first time in 2007 and are so excited to be doing it again!!!:banana: This time we will be traveling with my DH family...his Mom, Dad and sister. They've heard us talk SO much about Christmas at Disney..we can't WAIT to show them everything!!!

OH...here's our info....almost forgot! :surfweb:

*Are you using any other site to help you plan? allears.net and disboards of course! :woohoo:*What are you doing to get in the Disney spirit now? hanging out on disboards, reading past trip reports, looking at pics from trips...

We're going too!

*Where are you staying? FW Cabins. We tried them last year, and it was a hit even with DH.

Ok everyone's been added to the first post. Let me know if I missed anyone or if your info needs to be updated/changed. I will get to it ASAP. I'm getting over being sick for like the last week. I'm also annoyed this morning. I spent about two hours last night putting my hand written lists into a spreadsheet "just in case" they get lost (DH hates my list so they usually disappear and I have to start over at least once). Well, I saved the changes and when I went to reopen the sheet to make sure everything was there, it wouldn't open :scared1: 2 hours of my night down the drain...now to find the time to put it all in there again....ugh!

So glad everyone's here...please spread the word if anyone else is planning during this time. It just made sense to try and get everyone in one spot so we can hopefully all help each other out!

For those traveling early, I'm sure those traveling later (I know I would!!) would love a brief note when you get back about crowds or whatever if you have a minute.

Alright...time to try and get some work done today and find time to reupdate my spreadsheet.....

Quick questions guys...So I heard today about the "Wishes dessert Party". Are they still doing that?

Not sure. We did it in September when we were there and were not impressed. They didn't refill the desserts so whatever was put out in the beginning was it. Some people didn't get any of some of the items....not very fair and it would have ticked me off knowing how much it cost. It was fun as a "one time" thing for me...don't know if I'd do it again. Now DH has already asked about doing it on our upcoming trip if it's offered (he was also one of the first ones in line and got lots of goodies! :rotfl:).

Didn't mean to be a negative Nelly this morning... :upsidedow I honestly just wasn't impressed. It really seems like some of them were awesome and some like our experience so it's a risk unless they've made some changes. Honestly, it would have been nice if they would have just brought a tray of everything to each table instead of the giant buffet thing....myabe more work for them but you would have made sure everyone got to try all the yummy looking stuff.

I too am not much help as I am not sure if they will be bringing it back.

Like newtodis I was not overly impressed with the dessert party. We didnt have an issue with the food not being refilled but we had an issue with other rude guests. We were lucky enough to get a table up front (so we thought) so we had a clear view of the castle which would have been great if everyone at the dessert party hadnt gotten up and stood right in front of our table. So needless to say my great view of the castle turned into not such a great view of some behinds!!!

So what do you all think about Le Cellier?

WE have only been there once back in the early 80s. It was very good but since the dining plan and all the reservations necessary, never available when we have called over the past few years. I think back then it was more a cafeteria type place (same with CP in MK) but still very good.

Thanks Jen! Oh Good grief! Sucks to have a "behind view"! I didn't even think about that....but I can so see that happening. We usually end up with a good viewing spot for Wishes anyway....I think we may stick with that! :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! It's probably our 2 or 3 fav in Disney and is definately a must do every trip. The Cheddar soup is AMAZING..the prezel bread is unbelievably good...YUM!

Does that mean it is unlikely I will get a ressie for Le Cellier on out trip?
IF you are wanting to go there I would go ahead and call at your 180 day mark. It shouldn't be a problem if you are going during the "lull" between Thanksgiving and Christmas...but you never know.

Wishes Dessert Party scheduled to start at the end of the month with no end date set for those asking about it:

Here's another good thread - "Things I wouldn't have done with the DIS". I'll admit I haven't gotten all the way through it but there are some good ideas in there.

For those planning on pressing pennies, you can print some amazing lists here:

It does look like they change and update often so you probably will want to print your list right before your trip to be most up to date.

I'm in my crunch time now. I have about 30 days to really buckle down and work out my plan. Then I hope to contact IPO, make sure our special needs info was relayed, then fill out the form they send - and get our info back so we're on the list for ADRs and ticketing for other things we need. I'm out of town when my 180 day mark hits so I'm so anxious. Can you tell? :lmao:

SILLY QUESTION ALERT!

So, DS will be 8 at the time of our trip. (therefore still on the kids dining plan) He doesn't eat what is on many of the items that are offered on the kids menu at the counter service areas. Do you still HAVE to order from the kids menu if you have a child's dining plan. I'm sure you do....but just wondering if anyone had any inside info.
Thanks!!

Yes that's how it's worked for us in the past. If you order an adult meal, you're "charged" an adult TS/QS meal on the dining plan and pay once you run out of credits. We wanted to pay for DS2's meals when we ordered his and the servers always just used all credits (DS4's meal plan) and we wound up running out of credits. Not a big deal, just not what we'd planned on. I've learned you have to be specific if you're looking for something with your credits.

On the other hand, when we've paid for meals OOP (I would guess it's the same for DDP), chefs and servers have always been accomidating if my boys were looking for something that wasn't on the menu (once DS2 wanted a grilled cheese somewhere and it wasn't on the menu; DH and I offered to order like a cheeseburger without the meat and they refused - just made the grilled cheese and came up with a price). Now, we also get "special" treatment with DS5 because he's allergic to EVERYTHING (eggs, soy, peanuts, shellfish, potatoes, ect) so the chef's always willing to try and work with him to come up with something "different" that he hasn't eaten 100 other times because he's so limited on his options.

So, long story still really long (sorry about that!), I would say you're welcome to order whatever you want but you're going to be left over with a lot of kid credits unless you can get a chef/server to work with you on ordering or "upgrading" that dining plan to an adult plan (I don't know how that would work). Hopefully someone will come along with some more info on that one.

On another note, has anyone been looking at the Fantasy Land thread??? Someone called Disney on two different occassions and was told ToonTown is being closed in April????? I so wanted to see it "one last time". I'm really bummed I have to say! According to the CMs they spoke with (this is what they're posting so take it with a grain of salt...we know how things change!), everything will be closed in ToonTown. :sad2: That's a real bummer!

Some of us have to be getting close to the 180 mark. Just waiting for the hours to come out so we can try and get an idea of where we'll be on which days. Oh! And we're adding a traveler to our trip - DH's mom. She's been with us once before so it should be a fun time! :cool1:

Yes, you do need to order off the kids' menu WHERE AVAILABLE. With some research, you can locate CS that have just one menu (like Casey's at the MK, Cool Wash Pizza in Epcot FW, or Sommerfest in Epcot WS). At those places, children order off the regular menu, since there is no kids' menu available.

I knew things were changing. We were planning to skip WDW in 2011 - and maybe go back in the spring of 2013 to see the changes. But when I saw your post I went to read the thread.

I'm now wondering if I need as many days at WDW as I had planned. If they move Goofy's Barnstormer - will it be up somewhere else by the time we go? That ride is one of my DDs favorites.

Anyhow, initially I had plans around MK for 3 days of our trip. One early morning to get Ariel's autograph at the grotto (which that thread shared may be closed), and two evenings at MVMCP. Maybe in light of the changes, two days at MK would be plenty, and we should just head back earlier.

Things to think about.

I don't so many things being up in the air! I know things will change several more times before we get there and I'll be glued to the DIS for the entire time until we leave to figure out what's closed and open and all that. We're staying our full 10 days either way but may go to Sea World or something for a day if Disney isn't cooperating. I'm glad they're "ahead" of schedule with what they thought but it's frustrating to have information constantly changing. It certainly makes the die hard planners like myself sick to their stomachs trying to plan everything out and not knowing how things are gonna be. I'm hoping for the best and trying to remain positive...I don't know how long I'll be able to. :rolleyes1

There are tons of other things to do in Disney both with or without that day for your ticket. I'm sure we can all give you lots of ideas on how to full that time you were gonna spend at the MK if things don't work out and stuff's closed. :thumbsup2

Happy Anniversary!!!!! 2000 was a great year to get married! :bride::cheer2: I HIGHLY suggest MVMCP! Super cute and very fun! Yes we are doing the dining plan. We LOVE the dining plan. Our only complaint is the whole kids eat from the kids menu thing..I may call and see if we could possible get him upgraded to an adult dining...but then again I may just eat the kids meal at lunch and save my appetite for our wonderful dinner ADRS!! :rolleyes1 Let me know if you need any dining suggestions!:woohoo:

I have a question on FP during the times we are going.. 12/5 - 12/12
Based on previous years crowd levels and the time being a "value season", is there an issue on gettiNg FP?
basically are they needed for this time frame? (we will be visiting most of the parks during the week)
Are the lines are pretty manageable during this time to not worry with FP?

Basically, it depends on the ride, but FP's are still needed, there could be a crowd for one ride. Being that we went in around that time some years ago, we really didn't need it, but on the popular rides, we used it sometimes. I really hope this answers your question, or maybe someone has an up to date answer. Have a Magical Day. :thumbsup2  :thumbsup2

We also go at "off" times- we usually only need a few FPs per trip. We always get Soarin', Expedition Everest, and Toy Story Mania- usually get Space Mtn and Peter Pan, too. Most others are OK not to get FP's (if we get to the parks at rope drop and do the big headliners in the first 2 hours or so).

*Where are you staying? POFQ (my mom just figured out they don't serve beignets at all of the resorts)

*When are you going? Nov 13-23, but we're still waiting on flight information

*Who's in your group? Me (26), DM (57), and my friend (26) will join us for a week

*What is everyone hoping for as far as ADRS? We're hoping to try lots of new things, Tea at the GF, Raglan Road, LTT, CP at 8:05 am, California Grill, Biergarten, Akershus, Rose and Crown, Le Chefs de France, Mama Melrose Fantasmic pkg

*What are you looking most forward to? Ummm currently I'm volunteering for a year in Liberia and we're going to the World about a week after I return home to celebrate, so I'm looking forward to spending time with my mom...and having edible food, pavement, comfy beds, security :rotfl: We've never done F&W or MVMCP so we hope to fit in one day of each. And all the rides, of course :lovestruc

*Are you using any other site to help you plan? Just the Disney site, really

*What are you doing to get in the Disney spirit now? Just reading these boards obsessively, :goodvibes I really have learned so much and we're going to do so much more than we normally do because of everyone's help here. I should probably stop looking at the restaurant boards though as I eat my oily rice :sad2:

I'm also waiting to see if we get a pin or if there will a promotion for that time period. I don't really know why since we're going to do all this stuff anyway, but it would be really nice to cut down the cost.

We were there almost that exact time in 2007 and we had no problem at all with the rides. We were very worried with all the "Pop Warner kids" being down there and so many people had bad experiences with them previously..but we didn't notice anything. We do utilize FPs on our favorite rides..but it was mainly so we could ride our favorites multiple times.

Happy Easter Everyone! It's April...hopefully some November hours will be out soon then a few short weeks until the December hours. I know I'll be agonizing over what days to spend at which park and stress about it each time they change the times before we leave! :rolleyes1

Two years ago when we went we still used FPs for some things - especially TSM. Like others have said, it depends mainly on when you go and what you're wanting to ride.

Does anyone know when and or if Disney will be distributing their "DINING CODE PINS" for the fall or for winter, such as Nov/Dec. :santa: dates? :confused3? Need help with this one, and if you happen to have one, please PM it to me, please. :littleangel: THANKS. Have a Magical Day. :thumbsup2

It seems like it was the end of summer a couple of years ago when we went and I was paying attention to that. I think you'll have a little bit to wait if they release the codes this year. I would think with the construction and stuff going on, they'll have to do something to keep people in through the end of the year.

Is it too late to jump on this bandwagon? :flower3:

Of course not! I added it to the first post for you! ;)

I think we DISsers will make up half the population that week!:rotfl: We'll all be on the same "plan" of rope drop and resting so we should all be able to get a lot done!! :rotfl:

So, DH is looking into going on a WDW fishing excursion on the Downtown Disney lakes. Has anyone done this before? If so..how did you like it and what was the cost? He wants to do the Bass boat not the pontoon. He's an avid fisherman. Thanks in advance!!!:boat:

Haven't done that yet....interested to hear if others have though!

For those interested in the parade taping, I found a thread on it tonight: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2435735. It doesn't appear to have a ton of information but I bet more will be coming out soon as our trips all get closer.

Oh what's the one you're going to make? I'm praying for an extra early CRT one morning for this trip. Other than that, everything else I'm willing to try and fit in whenever. I wish the hours would come out very soon!!! I'm not so patient! :rotfl:

We're going to try to get a reservation for early breakfast at the Crystal Palace. We did this in 2005 and just loved it! Kids are older now so they probably won't get into Winnie & Tigger so much, but still... Main Street with hardly anyone there? Yeah...now that's what I'm talkin' bout'! :)
