Truly, being over forty is nothing to be *****y about.
I am sure your husband loves you in all your ages. :goodvibes

Happy Birthday a few days late. =)
40 isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Heck, I even made it to 41 without incident. But if you prefer, you can say you're thirty-ten. <g>

I'll be thirty-ten in a few months, also (the Podcast Cruise is for my birthday!). I don't blame you for being steamed, but my experience has been that unless I tell my DH what I expect for different events, he's lousy at guessing.
Happy Birthday!

You are a very nice woman in my opinion. I think I would have taken that coffee mug and broken it over my husbands head. There would be no question why I was ticked off. I already told him that I want a party!! I asked to go away for a long weekend too but he said we couldn't afford both. I'm so sorry about your present but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

It was around my fortieth birthday when I realized that if I really want something, the best think is to do it myself, for myself. Don't count on other people to meet your expectations.
You know what will make you happy, do it for yourself!
And have fun!:goodvibes

Happy Birthday! :)
Don't worry 40 isn't really that bad and before you know you'll be 41. I tell you that year just flew by way to quick for me.

You have to leave subtle hints such as, "give me your credit card....you're buying me this for my birthday."
Happy Birthday!

I'm sorry about the turning 40 thing. I try to look at it this way: It's all downhill from here, so this is the best I'll ever be. I should enjoy it. We're not 22 any longer. Might as well make the best of it.
I generally select something from a catalog and hand it over and say, "This is what I want for my birthday." It works well for Christmas by substituting "Christmas" for "my birthday."
If you want tickets or a book or something, give them the info with a phone number or computer link or whatever. Write "This is what I want for my birthday" on it.
In this way, you get something you like and they don't have to worry about giving you something that you won't like or that will cause you to sulk.

I am glad you are doing better. PCC 2.0 will be wonderful with all the Fab 40's on it. You know, DH never gets me a cake either! I say we both go to the bakery and buy a beautiful cake that WE like!

A list is not enough. Once my DH lost my list!!! You need to go to the store you desire, tell him what you want and wait outside to make sure he gets it. Also, once that is done I will ask for a couple of surprises.
But, last year, my DH had chosen my x-mas pressie really early, very unlike him! IT WAS AN IPHONE!! :cool1:
I think he is officially competent in the present department now. Tick.

Ok...as the dumb clueless DH I have to apologize Kat. I am sorry that I didn't make you a cake, I will totally admit that it didn't occur to me to do that. But the gift was one you have been looking for, for a long time and it was a very nice one too. I am sorry if you considered it lame and yes you definitely deserve so much more then that, so I'm sorry if I let you down for your 40th birthday. What can I say, guess I'm just :confused:&:scratchin, but I :love::love2::lovestruc:worship:You....
...how about if I make birthday bagels this weekend????
So...Happy 40th Birthday Hunny :bday:party::rockband::cheer2::yay::cool1::banana:
Again...sorry:guilty:

Happy Belated Birthday Kat! :bday::bday:party:party::bday:
I have had these problems myself in the past.
Now I take care of the cake and party bit and he gets my gift.
I remember the look of terror that crossed his face when DH realized he had to go shopping for me. He looked at me and said what do I do?
I looked at him and said if you can't walk into a store, walk around the store look at things and say to yourself she would like that, or I know she wants that, but won't buy it for herself as that would be frivolous then you don't know me very well. I have to say he did amazing, and has done so ever since. :thumbsup2
Cheer up and take his credit card for a quick shopping trip. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

The only thing bad about turning 40 is I used to have 20/20 vision. Now I need reading glasses. Thank god for the Kindle with the adjustment font size...don't need those things anymore! :rotfl:
