For our upcoming November trip, we'll be checking out of ASMu and into YC, then planning to hit one of the parks.

In your experiences with resort checkins, have you found it to be a plus or a minus to check in early (like 9 or 10am)? Obviously, it's a plus to get that bit of "housekeeping" out of the way for the remainder of the day, but I'm curious about how you perceive your room assignment (with or without upgrading) with an early checkin? Is it a better chance of getting a room of your choice by getting there early?

Thanks.

We have stayed at the YC 7 times, and were upgraded 5 of those times. We always check in between 9:30am-10:30am. Most of the time our room is ready, but several times it wasn't. We never asked for an upgrade or faxed in any requests ahead of time.

We were always more thrilled with being in our room by 10am (as opposed to 3 or 4pm), than anything else! It's like getting an extra day free. The upgrades were a bonus!

I really think it's the luck of the draw, and what is open when you arrive!:):D:)

Thanks for the info. It sounds like you've got a winning streak going there. (And from your sig, it looks like you must enjoy the YC!)

Yeah, the upgrade would be nice. But I guess it was more the idea of whether or not to reasonably expect to be able to actually lay eyes (and luggage) on a room that early.
