Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone with a pop up uses those pop up gizmo covers. And if they actually help with the temp inside the tent ends like they claim they do. I am considering buying them but would like some feed back on them.
Thanks,
JPL
also where do you get the trip countdowns and how do you post them?

Yes, we have popup gizmos - we've used them for 3 years I guess. They work exactly as they say they do! Totally cuts down on bunkend heat and in cooler temps you can reverse them. We never leave home without them and highly recommend them.

We belong to a Camping Club that has alot of pop-ups/hybrids and eveybody who has them wouldn't camp without them anymore.

We use the Pop Up Gizmos on our hybrid and LOVE them! Not only for keeping the heat/cold in/out, but, we wanted them more for saving the canvas on the bunk ends. They keep all the sap/bird mess/etc. off the canvas, so it'll stay looking new longer. It's much easier to replace the gizmos than it is to replace the bunk end canvas. :thumbsup2

I was alos wondering if most people try to DIY or just buy them from the company.
I am definately going to get some type of protection for the ends now after hearing from you guys.
Thanks

We used these when we had our popup and what a difference they made. We liked them so much, I bought them for my Hybrid travel trailer. I put them on the bunk ends every single time we camp. Even if it is in cooler weather. We do this just to protect the bunks from dirt and bird droppings. Our tops of our bunks look brand new and it is a 2006 camper (we bought new). So 3 full summers of camping and they look new. Popupgizmos custom made them for my bunks. I just measured them and emailed them to them and they made them to size no additional charge! Very nice people to work with. Also helps with early morning dew. Keeping the tops of the bunk end dry we can just close up and not worry about mildew. Also, Condensation inside. It eliminates it. If you have not experienced that...Just wait. A cool night and sleeping and someone moves and you get rained on. We put the covers on every trip out and we have never had the condensation problem again!!
Ramble....But I can't begin to tell you how much we like these!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Reflective covering makes a UNIVERSE of difference in keeping a popup cool. I currently just use silver/grey tarps folded and clamped on each bunk end....and Id never even consider attempting to camp in a Louisiana summer without them. HomeDepot sells a product called REFLECTIX (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B000BQSYRO/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=228013&s=hi) and its better than what Im using because its insulted. Ive never used it whil winter camping, although Im posting this from a campground right now and wish I had brought something to help keep the ends warm....its been kinda chilly at night!!!

Rog, glad to see you doing some winter camping.
OP - We are currently in the market for a hybrid or popup so though I have no experience with the popup gizmo or similar product, it is as the top of my list of things to get once our camper is in our driveway! I've heard nothing but good regarding these products!

We use our Popup Gizmos every time we camp. It really does help keep the interior cooler, but also keeps the canvas clean (our canvas is white). I think you will definitely appreciate them!

I've been considering some Gizmos if I can free up the $$$ to get them. We typically camp for one week during the summer at the beach and that's when I would get the most mileage out of them. The A/C didn't quite keep up with heat on last year's trip.

PS - Hard to justify the Gizmos right now with every appliance under my roof dying at the same time :scared1:

We love our Pop Up Gizmos. I agree w/ everyone else about them helping w/ keeping the canvas clean. We live in TX and camp during the summer months when it is HOT, the gizmo's are a must!

jorescue, I am from Eastern, NC too and had thought about the gizmos, but here lately with the extreme cold weather, I had forgot all about it. Thanks for posting and reminding me of it. :thumbsup2

we are from Washington...30 miles east of Greenville, home of the Pirates, arrgh :) We camp at Emerald Isle Holiday TravL Park, Ocean Waves Campground, in Waves, NC, we have camped at Willow Tree Resort in Myrtle Beach (we love this place) in the mountains, we have camped at New River State Park, another great place, thats all I can think about right now. :confused3 My kids love Emerald Isle campground, it is a minimum of $65 a night but there is a ton for kids to do there and we feel safe when we are there.

We were thinking of the diy option. i priced it out its only like 30 dollars cheaper to do it that way. and I would have to sew two of them together. And I dont sew.... You can get the blankets from cabelas
