The Cast:

Me, 34 – Disney obsessed, Shopaholic & extremely clumsy!
Lee (DH), 35 – aka the Mad Hatter….

27th September 2009 = Day 20

We woke about 8am, Lee went to Captain Cooks for the usual Hot Chocolates whilst I began the packing. It took ages as I had to juggle it all around, every time I filled a case and got Lee to weigh it they were over 32kg! We ended up with 4 cases, two dead on the limit and two over the limit and three hand luggage! :rolleyes1 I still had a few bits left to pack later too.

We had a quick read through the International Food & Wine Festival Guide before showering and getting ready. We got the Monorail to the TTC & transferred to the Epcot loop, on the way it started pouring with rain, we considered going back to the Poly but today was our last day and only chance to do the IF&WF which I had been looking forward too for so long. We decided to just go for it and donned our ponchos, as we walked through to World Showcase the rain stopped. :thumbsup2

We decided to walk around the World anti clockwise trying as many dishes as we could, we agreed to only get one portion and share them all. The first booth we stopped at was San Juan, Puerto Rico, we got the chicken and rice dish to share, it was really tasty and mildly spicy (sorry no photo of that dish but I have got pics of everything else we tried).

We carried on around World Showcase taking pics of the other booths even though we didn’t try anything from them all.

Our next stop was Wellington, New Zealand.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2970.jpg

Lee tried the Seared Sea Scallop with vegetable slaw & lemon oil. $4.00 (He liked it, I didn’t try it as I don’t like scallops.)

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2972.jpg

We also got the Lamb Slider with Tomato Chutney. $4.50, Lee liked it, I didn’t.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2971.jpg

Next was Cork, Ireland.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2973.jpg

I could not resist the warm Chocolate Lava cake with Baileys Ganache. $2.75, I liked it but Lee wasn’t overly keen.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2975.jpg

Next was Paris, France.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2976.jpg

Lee wanted to try the braised short ribs in a Cabernet sauce with mashed potato. $4.50, this got the thumbs up from Lee.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2977.jpg

We both also wanted to try the Milk Chocolate Crème Brulee. $3.75, we both liked this.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2978.jpg

I bought a Grand Marnier Grey Goose Orange Slushie, $9.50 from the drinks booth. It’s fair to say Lee did not like this, all the more for me. :yay:

As we walked towards Morocco it really started to pour with rain, we ended up diving in to the covered entrance to the restrooms along with about 20 other people. :lmao: We waited for about ten minutes until it stopped then continued past some of the booths.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2988.jpg

We stopped at Vienna, Austria where Lee wanted to try the Paprika Beef Stew with Bacon Dumpling, $3.75.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2987.jpg

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2989.jpg

Whilst Lee was eating the stew I queued at Bologna, Italy to get a Primavera (which was Strawberry, Banana & Peach slush.)

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2990.jpg

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2991.jpg

It was very humid today so we decided to have a walk through the shops in Germany to cool off a little.

This is where I took one of my favourite photos of the trip…….I had to force him to try on this hat, as you can you tell by the fake smile! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2994.jpg

We carried on anti clockwise past a few more booths.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2995.jpg

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2996.jpg

Stopping at Bangkok, Thailand where Lee tried the Chicken & Coconut Soup with mushrooms, he didn’t like this.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_2998.jpg

We sat on the bench for a while and noticed the bridge started to lift open and the Illuminations Globe and the firework barges come through. It was great to watch as we haven't seen the barges close up before.

Afterwards we carried on walking and taking photos of the other booths.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_3006.jpg

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_3018.jpg

We got a lemonade slushie to share from the Outpost, it was so hot today!!! Everyone seemed to be struggling with the heat, not to mention covered in sweat.

We headed over the bridge and into China.

According to Lee this reminded him of someone…… And Yes he did get a slap!

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_3034.jpg

I wanted to have a look in the shops here so we headed indoors just as it was beginning to spit with rain, we had a good look around as just as we were about to leave it absolutely chucked it down…..everyone ran for cover!

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_3037.jpg

We waited under cover for about 15 minutes until it began to ease up, we chucked our ponchos on and carried on. Lee was full up and didn’t want anything else to eat and nothing really took my fancy from the last few booths, we did buy some cinnamon glazed almonds to share though. We walked back through Future World to the Monorail, the sun had come out again and the sky was beginning to clear so we took a few pictures on the way to the exit.

http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/pinky_276/Sept%2009%20trippie/IMG_3067.jpg

We got the monorail back to the TTC and then walked from there back to the Poly. It was nice to walk around the other side of the resort as we hadn’t really been over there.

We got back in the room about 5.30pm where we wanted to cool off and rest for a while before heading back to Epcot later, well unfortunately we relaxed a bit too much and both fell asleep! :faint: We woke up about 8.30pm and were a bit sad as we had missed our 7.55pm ADR at Le Cellier. We ended up going to Captain Cooks for a cheeseburger and coke and watching Wishes from down by the boat dock. :cloud9: We went to bed very sad to be leaving tomorrow but also excited to be seeing our doggies again soon, three weeks away from them is too long. :sad1:

Coming up = T Rex, DTD and flight home.

Shame you missed your ADR for Le Cellier, but watching the fireworks by the dock sounds like the perfect end to the holiday. :)
