Sorry to burden you all but I need to vent somewhere.

In May of last year my lovely dad passed away after a long illness - he had cancer. My mum was left on her own for the first time in her life, aged 70. She lived in Hope Cove, which is lovely village in Devon by the sea.

In July of last year I was made redundant from my job (they moved locations), after 19 years, so my life was not really going well.

My mum decided that she wanted to move back to Windsor as my sisters and I all live around the area. So this was a complete upheaval but she did it and moved into a bungalow that needed much work. After months of work it's finally coming together, only for her to have a mini stroke yesterday.

I also am having to sell my lovely house and move to Windsor, which is again an upheaval, which I really don't want but jobs are scarce in PR and Marketing and even PA/EA jobs are hard to come by as this area is packed full of people all applying for the same jobs. I have done some freelance work, but so many people are doing this now. I have just finished writing copy for an energy company website and am currently designing a powerpoint presentation for a company in the US, but times are tough.

My mum should get an appointment to see a specialist today, so hopefully she can get the right treatment started, but it's just all upheaval to the whole family. I feel as if I'm on a merry go round, unable to get off at the moment.

To be honest, it's only this last year that's been terrible, life was pretty enjoyable before, I just wonder will normal ever be normal again?

I just needed to vent somewhere, so thanks

Tina

Oh Tina, you really are having a rough time of it at the moment. To be perfectly honest, there are times in your life when things seem like they'll never be right again and I can understand why it's got to a point where you have had enough

I hope things go OK with your Mum and that you find something soon workwise. Meanwhile, feel free to vent here as much as you like :goodvibes

When everything happens all at once you can feel like you're drowning.

Just take one step at a time, get one thing fixed/sorted out and then work on the other, you'll start to see the light at the end of the tunnel if you take baby steps.

I hope your mum gets an appointment soon. Keep your head in the game.

I think sometimes life has a sick sense of humour in seeing how much we can cope with. You have to stay positive and just try to deal with little bits at a time. Knowing you have a lot of people rooting for you and praying that things get better is something!

Things will start to get better, it's just a rubbish time for you, but that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger, and you will get though it.

Lots of hugs and best wishes that it happens very soon :wizard:

Hi

Many thanks for all of your wishes, it means alot at this time. Well, my mum has an appointment tomorrow (Thurs) at St Marks Hospital in Maidenhead at a stroke clinic. We had to keep calling the doctors to get the appointment at the hospital as things move so slowly, even when time is critical. She cannot move her right hand very much which is really peeing her off as she lives on her computer, especially the ancestry sites! But this seems to be her only problem at the moment, heopefully they will get her on the correct medication and be able to help her.

My decorators finished sprucing up my house today so it goes on the market on Monday, fingers crossed that it sells quickly and I can get on with my life and look for jobs anywhere in the world.

Once again, thanks for caring.

Tina

Tina, glad your Mum has got her much-needed appointment. Do let us know how she gets on.

Meanwhile, I hope your house sells quickly and life starts taking an upwards turn for you :goodvibes
