Formally:Then there were 8 no wait 5..no wait IDK how many are going-Help plan my DDs 1st trip
Hi everyone!! My name is Netta and I am planning my daughter's first trip to DW!!
I know my title is lame but it was so hard comming up with something good and everyone else's is so awesome!
I have been a couple of times with my last time being in 1994.
We will be going to Disney July 23-30, 2010 and we will be staying at
Disney's Old Key West and Saratoga Springs-I think!!LOL
I will get into why I said that AND why my title is that!

ok so here is the deal...My mom used her RCI points and got two units for our family to be able to go..
a 2 bedroom at Old Key West and a 1 bedroom at Saratogo Springs
Slated to go WERE
1. My mom
2. My Dad
3. Me
4. My Husband
5. My Daughter
6. My sister
7. Nephew 1
8. Nephew 2

So then my sister bowed out so that took 3 people out and my husband does not think he will be able to get off work. So that just leaves as def. going are me and my daughter, and my mom and dad.
Which leads to me why I am not sure where we are staying.. If it is only us 4 then we will keep the Old Key West and cancel SS. If at least one more person goes then we will keep both

Ok sooo with out that Splainin' out the way..Lets get down to biz-nazz!
Most of my plans will include:
Me-Netta 33 (a IT specialist for the Feds, AVON Rep, sometimes shy but very loyal and fun friend
and my daughter 5.5(when we go on the trip) a high energy, giggly, super sweet, smart, fun and princess loving little girl
Whose 2nd tooth just came out whilst I was typing this so I will BRB..gotta go play doctor
Place holder for pics

I do want to get a planner to help with my days but I am not sure which one to get Tour Guide Mike or one of the others

I have practically lived on the Creaive boards for the last 2 years..
I have a bunch of projects that I want to do for this trip.
The first thing I decided to take on was the autograph books.. I decided to have them printed through Shutterfly to save some ink, they came in on Friday but they had cut all the boarders off.. some of them are worse than others. Then when I called CS, I had to take pics of the cards and call back.. they took me through so much I just told them to give me a refund.
My husband thinks I should just use the pics..but I really don't want to...
I am going to show you how they look..hold on

OH!! We got approved for our Give a Day promotion!
We will be making lunch for a homeless shelter in the area. We are doing 100 bag lunches. They do a hot lunch and then give them bag lunches to take with them. We are actually doing 2 days.
I am a little bummed that Gabby can't get a ticket because she is only 5.

When we went through the search, there were a couple of opportunities that we expressed interest in, one was making cards for children with cancer. While that won't be our official GAD, I told them that we would still like to participate so I am waiting for them to get back to me on that

Ok, so I am overweight and want to work on being able to walk Disney since it is so big. I have been trying to workout but I really want to walk, if you have been following the news you know that Maryland got hit with over 35 inches of snow in the past two weeks and before that it has been snowing and very cold...soo anywho..
I bought this game and I have tried it out and I think it is really going to help!! I did it the first day and did .4 a mile but I had played 1 hours of just dance and wee cheer. My goal is to try to do 1 mile a day, working up to at least 3 miles.. I hope I can do it ..

Hey girl, I'm back and have read your details. Thanks for the shout out. That was sweet!

You are definitely not boring. I love reading about everybody's plans. Getting ready for Disney is so much fun.

I've already started walking on our treadmill as often as I can. Not nearly as often as I would like. But, I keep running into those little distractions like...helping with homework, cooking dinner, washing clothes. You know, those motherly distractions.

Ok, so like I said I set a goad for my walking. Yesterday when I left work I had THE worst sinus headache. BUT, I made myself do some walking and once I was done I felt a little better. I made myself do it because I know me and I am know I am a slacker and the next day it would be another excuse.
I am excited that to say that I walked 1.2 miles!!!

Look at you! Way to go! Next time you have a bad sinus headache, try drinking very strong lemonade or eating a lemon. I have migraines and the neurologist told me lemons are a natural antihistamine. They sure do help.

I oh so know about the mommy distractions!!LOL
The good thing I like about this game is that most times the little one wants to walk with me- so it is helping her out with her endurance as well!!

Thanks for the tips on the lemons, I will try it out last time and let you know!!!

I am here and now have the urge to excercise. :dance3: I know you and your daughter will have a blast. I am glad to be divorced, but sad that we never had kids. I would have loved to share Disney with my child.

I would be crazy if my trip was in July and I still wasn't sure where we were staying. I am such an anal retentive planner (translate that to control freak) that it would drive me nuts.

I saw you were thinking of a character meal and thought about CRT. I have never done that one, but I have to say I LOVE the cinderella dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremayne and the step sisters all visit your table. They are not rushed and the food is really good for a buffet. I loved their prime rib. I would have planned to take my mom there, but since we are staying club level and not using a dining credit for breakfast, I decided to try the signature restaurants.

Thanks for you kind words in my pre-trip report. It is my first one, so I hope it turns out ok.

Looking forward to hearing more about your trip.

Hi Pam thanks so much for stopping by!! We have the room booked but I just don't know which room I am staying in. It IS driving me bonkers but I am not gonna complain since I am not paying for the room!!LOL

I am superduper excited about sharing The World with my daughter, I know she is going to be superduper excited as well!

I have heard good things about 1900...the only reason I was thinking CRT is just for the atmosphere of being in the castle!

Hi, I'm here, a little late, but that's okay! I don't blame you for being a bit stressed about the resort situation, I would be too. We've booked Akershus for a Princess lunch, but that's the only ADR other than Rainforest the day we're at AK. I don't blame you for being upset about the quality of the autograph cards, I would have been too.

I've been on the weight loss bandwagon too, or was until Piper ended up admitted! The walking game looks awesome, I'm going to have to look into it, so thank you for sharing it!

I read on the Poly thread how to add a countdown to your trip ticker. It was really easy. Just click on someone's ticker in their signature and it takes you to the website. Follow the instructions on the site and then copy the programming language into your signature and TADA you have a ticker in your signature.

You should add one for your daughters first trip.

AWW you guys are too sweet!!
Lisa I will tell her that, Tiana is now her favorite princes so she will get a kick out of that!
Pam..thanks! She wore that dress in her God Dad's wedding earlier in the year and I was trying to get another use out of it!!:rotfl:. All the girls came to the party dressed as princess. It was soo cute! I wish I could post this pic up here but I don't want anyone to be upset.

I don't think we will do the BBB. Her hair will probably be in braids for the trip so we won't have to fuss over it. I am def. going to let her take her dress up or dress for the princess meal.
She has a bunch of dress ups but maybe I will get her a special one for the trip

my parents are using their time share for our family to go to Disney and I want to pay for a surprise romantic dinner for them. I am looking for something that is not in the parks but maybe at one of the resorts. The reason for the location is they are going to be doing more sightseeing of FL and not really going to the parks(GASP I know!!)...
Thanks!

I had to rescue my blog from being at the bottom..( don't forget to go to page 2 and check out my videos)
This weekend was really nice!My daughter had her first Girl's Day Out!! She invited a few of my friends(lol) out for lunch and to get our nails done.
We went to a big mall here (Arundle Mills if you are in the area) and had lunch . I think 1 lap around the mall is 1 mile and we walked it 1.5 times, not including the walking around the individual stores.

I got my Disney fix at the Disney Store- I bought my daughter 1 tee shirt and 2 towels(unbeknownst to her they are for the trip) and I got a GC to put 20 bucks on. I will periodically put money on the card, I am saving up for my Pick a Pearl in Epcot and don't want to take money away from the money I am already saving for spending money.

I also go another fix..at the nail salon , OPI has a new line- Alice in Wonderland!! I got Mad as a Hatter!! it is this really pretty sparkly glittery color with a silver base..got that on my toes!!!

I am trying to decide if I need to pay for my daughter to eat at the castle or not seeing as though I already have 1 princess dinner. I mean I know she will love it but is it going to be overkill? it will be 95 for both of us to go..if I get that one..should I cancle the other one??

I so wish we still had a Disney Store in our mall. They closed our's several years ago. I was sad but my pocketbook was jumping for joy. :yay:

Are you going to tell your little princess about booking your dinner in the castle? Or will you be saving it for a surprise?

I have heard some good things about California Grill, The Wave and Artist Point. Those might be good places to check out for your parents. I know that aprilisis over on my trip report posted pictures of Artist Point on her trip report. You might want to look at those.

Go with the park hopper. You won't regret the flexibility it gives you. You can visit one park in the morning, go back for a swim, nap and then another park in the evening. That is my vote!

I would probably do the 5 day with no hoppers, just because it would give me an extra day in the park (and you know me and frugal are best friends!) and your plans have you hitting one park a day. If I had an extra $100 to get rid of, I'd do the hoppers, because of the flexibility, as pp mentioned.

We gave up hoppers a few years ago. We find it easier to stay in one park per day. That way, it's easier for me to schedule our dinner ADRs.

I just love the Twitter pictures!

I'm here! what are the creative boards????:confused3

Subbing!

Love your PTR so far!

Walk it out looks like a really fun wii game. Too bad we already have too many games we don't play! My mom was looking for something where she could walk though, so maybe I'll get it for her! The wii is amazing to get you moving, isn't it? My son is 3 and he ran for 10 minutes one day with it. Didn't tire him out, but I was tired watching him!

Your daughter is so cute! She's going to love meeting the princesses!

I always get a park hopper, but I was considering not getting one. I like the ability to go to different parks, but it doesn't happen. I think we're ending up with an AP this year, so it's not a decision I have to make right now, but I would think more days and no hopper, and you won't miss it!

That's so sweet of you to book a surprise dinner for your parents. I'm sure they'll love it!

Can't wait to read more!

Also has anyone been on a trip with just them and a child? It is going to be just me and Baby Girl together in most of the parks and I am worried that I won't get pictures of both of us togehter.

I think you can use gift cards anywhere. You could always call disney and check.

I've never gone alone, but the photopass photographers will also take pictures with your camera...we've never actually gotten the photopass pictures, but they've taken some great ones with our camera! Plus, if you only like a few of the pictures, you can order individual ones off the photopass website. And, there's always kind strangers to take your picture for you!

Lol, no I say the same thing about strangers running away with my camera. You should hear me worry about someone stealing my stroller! :rotfl2:

Even with just having the photopass people take your picture, you should get lots of pictures. Or, you can just perfect holding your arm out and taking a picture of yourself...you can do that with 2! We can't do that with 4, so we have the same problem with not having pictures of all of us!

Just do a trade off. You offer to take someones picture for them in exchange for them taking your picture. And then if they run off with your camera, you will still have theirs and hopefully it will be a more expensive model.:rotfl2:

If I see a couple or a family trying to take pictures, I usually stop and ask if they want me to take a picture of them so that everybody can be in the shot. I know how special pictures are to me and I want them to have special memories too. Often, when I do this, they offer to take our picture too.

Never had a person bolt with my camera yet. I did chuckle outloud when you said you were afraid that somebody would run off with your camera. It made me think of European Vacation when that guy ran off with Clark and Ellen Griswald's video camera.:lmao:

Oh my gosh! I absolutely love love love the autograph book. I'm trying to remember which characters we have gotten autographs from on a regular basis. I know that we've met Frozon, Buzz Lightyear and Woody several times.

Did they have a Flik and, what's his name......the little monkey from Tarzan.....gosh, what's his name? Shoot! Maybe you'll remember his name. WAIT! It's Terk. We've seen those two at Animal Kingdom before.

Anyway, I love the book and wish Hunter was still young enough to not be embarassed by something that he now would consider girly.:lmao:

It looks awesome. Just food for thought. When I was married, I took my stepson to Disney for his 8th Birthday. He had an autograph book. The only thing I wish we had done different was to leave a blank page across from each autograph to allow for a picture of him with the character he got the autograph from. Not sure if you planned this already or not.

Your folks will love Narcoossees. It is one of my favorite restaurants. The crab crusted halibut is delicous if you like seafood.

I couldn't get a ressie there for March, but will be eating there with Mom and Dad.

Hope you are still walkng. (that is my motivational comment of the day )

I was thinking of you when I took my kids on the 15 minute walk to the playground. It's a long walk, my mind tends to wander! I was thinking about the camera thing, that you can get people to take your picture when you're waiting in line for a ride. It would be awfully hard to run when you're stuck in the middle of one of those queues! :lmao:

Hey Pam!! I thought about the pictures but I digital scrapbook so I am going to have plenty of things to do with her pic and will probably scan the siggie to use for those pages.
I really hope they like the rest. My mom is allergic to shellfish so I think there are plenty other things she can pick..
Sadly No I have not been walking..I really need to get on it..I don't know what my problem is!!

So I have been talking to BAby Girl about Disney..because she has been asking about going- I think seeing the GAD commercials has her asking. Anyway I have been telling her that if she does not get red in school (they have 3 colors for behavior red, green, blue yellow and red is not good) sleeps in her OWN bed ALL night, and be a good listener then MAYBE I will THINK about going to Disney..
So I have been using that opening to talk to her about Disney and if we went what we would do.. So last night I talked her about the autograph book..the convo went something like this

IF we went to Disney who would you want to get an autograph from?
What is an autograph?
A signature...
What is a Signature?
You know when you are always telling people to "SIGN" the paper, that is their signature..
OHHHH Well Why can't I just say..WRITE your name on here????
SIGH
The she proceeds to laugh like she has told the best joke in the world:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

So she says that she does not want to get the Stepsisters' because they are mean, she also does not want Frozone,Buzz, or Woody or little Einstiens..
So I am thinking of canceling the HollyWood and Vine ADR.

That autograph book is so cute! I loved that you did it alphabetically, that's smart. I was thinking I wouldn't bother because it would take me too long to find the page and open it up and all that. But alphabetically is very clever!

Maybe you will have to cancel hollywood & vine, if she doesn't want to see the little einsteins. When are they going to change that, anyway? Isn't JoJo's circus really outdated at this point?

Have fun doing your GAD! Sounds like a great thing to be doing!

Hey!Thanks for the comps on the book..I was going to put it together based on who "goes together" like Tiana with Naveen..but then the dilema was does that go under T,N, or P(princess) so I just did it that way!
I am thinking about canceling H&V and just get CS that day I have no idea why they have not changed it yet. Disney tends not to change things fast if they are working..my guess is that H&V still gets alot of ressies so they see no point in changing it

Hey Guys!! So this weekend..
Friday, picked up Baby Girl and head to the store so that I can get the rest of the supplies to make the lunches.
After that I ran home to drop the stuff I bought for myself in the freezer and then to Target to pick up my RX
Then off to my moms house..I made me and G something to eat(from food I brought-not mooching today)-Boneless Porkchops on the GF Grill, brown rice and brocoli and a Green Smoothie!!
Then off to the basement to workout with my mommy.
She got this new home gym thingy with all the weights and stuff so we do that.. She also has this "thing' that you sit on and hold on the handles and pull yourslef up..it works your abs and thighs..
then we did these exercises called leg throws...ok..THIS IS ONE OF THE HARDEST EXERCISES FOR ME EVAH!! Check it outhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WkbYH2V-3o

I went home hurting for real!

SATURDAY

ok so my dad had told Baby Girl he was taking her to breakfast (something he does every couple of months) and to be ready by 7:30. So up at 7 to get her ready..
My mom came over about 8:30..I made us a Green Smoothie and we started on our quest about 9 or so to get these lunches made. Now remember- we are making 100 lunches with 200 sandwhiches each..
Well my silly but bought 10 loaves(20 slices in a loaf) But we needed 20 loaves..so I sent the Hubs to get us 10 more..

Soo 20 loaves of bread, 25 packs of bolgna, 12.5 packs of cheese, 25(4packs) of apple sauce,2 packs of spoons, 12 packs of oatmeal cream pies later we had finshed making the lunches and with the help of the hubs had them out to the car..
AND MY BACK WAS KILLING ME!!

Quick stop to the dollar store to get more spoons because our packs were short and a stop at Checkers for some Grub we were on our way..

Took us about an hour to get there..through all these back roads and what not..we get there drop off and the guy tells me I can take 270 to 70 back ..SCORE..or so we thought..
It felt like it took way way longer to get back!!!
We finally get home at four..

I had to jump in the shower and find something to wear because I had to meet my girl friends at the movies for GNO for my friends BDAY..

My sister is at my house so I get dressed and we go..for those of you who are familar with Columbia you can tesitfy how hard it is to find a space on the weekend. So after driving around the lot for 15mins we head to the garage..go round and round to the top..STILL Not one space!! Even at the top..so we see some people come up and ask them where they are parked..stalk them and get their space..By now it is 6:10..
We go to the movies and wait for everyone else..at 6:20 I call the bday girl and she says she is looking for a space. When she gets there is is after the 6:30 movie start time and we go to the automated ticket kiosk thingy..
My sister is using the one next to me ..I get my 2 tickets(buying the bday girls tickets) and about to pay for mine and it won't let my sister pay for hers- it is sold out!!I cancel my transaction and we walk aover to try to find something else to watch...
(sidebar for those of you still reading..My girlfriend who had gotten there before us had called us and said she saw the movie we were going to see and was going to see soemthing else)..

We didn't find anything we wanted to see so we decided to go to the one of the resturaunts grab a drink at the bar and wait for our firend..all the bars were full!!SIGH so I sent a text to my girl friend if she came out the movie I would pay for it!!LOL AND SHE DID!!
Score!!
So we went to TGIF for food. The wait was TWO HOURS!!BUT the Bday girl had just joined the little TGIF card club and was given a jump the line pass..FIVE mins..yeah more like it!!

We ate and drank and had a ball!!
On the way out I asked my sister to go in my trunk and get me a bottle of water..she says..out of the homelesslunches?? SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSH??
Wait..WHAT??
She says yeah you have a bunch back there.. I am like ***??

No wonder why my car has been smelling like bolgna and cheese all day..
by now it is almost 11. I find the number to the place and call them..they say I can bring it tonight..my sister agrees to go with me..
So we go all the way back out there..i am soo ready to cry I am so sleepy and tired!
Thank God for my sister because I would be in a ditch ..finally got home at 12:30... jump on the computer to check the time of the party for Sunday..FB my thanks to my sister and went to bed

SUNDAY..
Slept till like 10, got Baby Girl up and ready for the party at Chucke Cheese..
MAN it was soooot hot up in there!!
After the party we went to Target..i wanted to get her another version of Alice in Wonderland to watch becasue she said the new one looked creepy..lol
picked up some popcorn and went home..
Once we were home I helped her play this DS game my dad had bought her then fixed dinner..
The hubs looked at the version of the moive I got and said that I should have bought the Disney animationn one:confused3 so I said ok..well you can take it back and get the other one.. He got online and found out it won't be back out till the 30th so we picked another movie poped popcorn and watch Lion King..after that ..showers and THE BED

WEEEW..and that was my weekend!!

Oh no that you left those lunches in your trunk! That's a very cool GAD though, I would love to do a GAD that I can just do at home like that, since I never go anywhere without the babies which means there's a lot I can't do.

That's a lot of drama trying to see a movie and going out to eat! Glad it all worked out.

I fear chuck-e-cheese, I'm so glad that DS isn't old enough for that yet!

Sounds busy, but like a lot of fun!

I am very glad we picked that GAD..my parents and I used to make bag lunches downtown and pass them out and we have not done it about 3 years soo it felt good to be doing it againn. In fact we are going to do it again next weekend for the shelter!! and when my sister went with me to drop off and got to meet some of the guys..she said she wanted to help so maybe it won't be so bad next weekend!!LOL
Chuckee Cheese can be OK early in the am..but the party was at 2 and it was PACKED and it was 60 degrees outside and theyhad the heat on

Hi Netta! Just finding your PTR, and it your plans sound great! You and your family are too cute! You guys are going to have such a fun trip. Your daughter will be so excited! I sometimes wish I had a little girl to share all of the Disney girly stuff with, because I have two boys. They are less than uninterested in princesses and Fantasyland. I do have a little niece that I hope to be able to steal away for a visit one of these days, when she gets older.:goodvibes

I'll be reading along, as you plan away. popcorn::

Okay, just got all caught up...girl, you had a busy weekend!! That was a very cool GAD project, but thank goodness you had tinted windows!! A gf and I worked at a summer camp together, one year on our day off we went and got a bunch of steamers (clams). She wanted the shells for crafts..we get back to the camp, forget ALLLLLLL about the shells in the hatchback..and can I just tell you how awful the smell was when we remembered them 3 days later ?!?!?!!!!! It was stench-a-rific!

There were a ton of characters at DHS when we were there, it was like hitting the character lotto...Queen of Hearts, Chip & Dale, Incredibles, Rafiki..etc etc, all in the World of Animation, so make sure you hit it! Also, characters Piper would never have admitted to wanting an autograph from..ie, Buzz and Woody, as soon as she saw them in the storefront window, she had to have them! She definitely had character fever, and she's 8!!

A few must do rides that I think your nephews will love are Buzz lightyear in the Magic Kingdom and Toy Story Mania in DHS. You need to get to DHS early to get a fastpass or Toy Story or you will have a long wait in line. Most kids love to climb all over Tom Sawyers island and drive the cars at the MK. The bugs life movie at Animal Kingdom is really cool too.

Does the 4 yr old get scared easy. The Dinosaur ride at AK is great, but parts are in the dark and a little scary.

I really don't think they will need much of a plan once they get there and start riding.

I read a trip report that there was a mom that goes to the dollar store and prepares a "treat" bag for each day of the trip with stuff like glow sticks, stickers and such. I am sure the planner that you are, you already thought of that. She said it helped cut back on buying a lot of souvenirs.

Have fun planning. Glad to see you are posting again and hope you are feeling better.

By the way. I actually went to the gym every day this week M-F so far.

I have been Spring Break-ing with Baby Girl last week so I have not been on but I have been doing lots of planning and thinking about the trip!
My parents are gonna drive me crazy on this trip.. They both thought Universal was part of Disney..also my dad insists that Dolphin World is..I just looked at him with my mouth open.. WHAT THE HECK is Dolphin World dad?? OHHHH you mean SEA World!!??? Lord Help ME!!!

Baby Girl's Autograph books have been shipped so they should be here soon.
I am trying to decide on what graphic to use for the kid's travel day shirts.

Hey Netta. Did you ever figure out what days you are going to the different parks?

Pamela Kay mentioned the Dinosaur ride for your nephew. I rode that ride ONCE. I was scared as hell. My eyes were closed the entire ride. I didn't see a thing. It was too dark and noisy. I didn't see a thing. I will never ride it again. My pictures were with my eyes closed. I was so embarrassed. :rotfl:

He tell somebody about this great ride at Disney called "insert any ride from Universal" and we'll say that wasn't at Disney that was at Universal.:rotfl2: And then he'll say I thought that was at Disney and we'll say NO! I am working on a touring plan and I will post that soon. When I get paid on Friday, I am ordering the iron ons so that I can get started on the custom shirts that I am going to make. You're going to be fighting off those boys. You do know that don't you?

We have a similar museum here in town that's called the Children's Museum and they encourage the kids to touch all of the exhibits.

Isn't God good! He knows just when we need something and blesses us. I am always amazed as how much he does for me and my family.

GOD IS GOOD ALLL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the comps on Gabby! She says she wants to be a Fashion Designer when she grows up-so we will see!!
Have you ever seen the movie Bad Boys- Her Dad and God Dad joke about doing that scene that Martin Lawrence and Will Smith did- Basically scaring the boys away acting crazy!! Poor baby!!!

Yay! You're in double digits! Woo hoo for the blessings. I'm sure they will keep on coming your way! :thumbsup2
Thank you sooo much!!I am just overwhelmed by them!! I have been having a bad week- high stress and then Boom! this happends!!!

99 days! You're getting there! Planning this far out is just frustrating for me. Just when I think I have something all figured out, they change it again! So cute that your nephew was excited to have cufflinks. That's so adorable!

Glad things are going well and that you keep being blessed with good news!

I KNOWWW!! I really want to get a touring schedule together!
WOO HOO:cheer2:

Remind me again if this is still a surprise for your daughter and nephews, or have you told them?

The time is going so fast now!!! Yes it is still a surprise! Allthough Gabby has been talking alot about going to Disney lately and I have been just telling her that she has to be a good girl is school and maybe I will take her!!lol

As I understand it, you can call 407-WDW-DINE, and payment is required at the time of booking. It sounds great! You'll have to tell us all about it.

They have not extended it to July yet but if they do- I think I want to do it.. On our last night there we have CRT scheduled.. I think it would be the perfect ending to our trip..the priority viewing.

:woohoo:

I had no idea you had a PTR. I'm always on the Budget Board but ventured out and saw a post you made on someone's countdown and said I think that is Annette!!

We are at 51 days. I have planned a bit but started thinking about it again today.

How do you like the Verizon App?

I have the free version of Lines but may pay for a subscription. I can't decide to do TGM. For some reason I feel like my experience and the DIS had given me enough.

Oh and for your nephews - Buzz, TSM, The safari in Ak, Goofy's Barnstormer, The 3D shows - Muppets, Philharmagic. The Toy Story pizza place in DHS with an arcade.

If they like roller coasters - Rock and Roll and Big Thunder Railroad.

Are you using your GADs for fastpasses or upgrading them for multiday?

Oh and our Disney store had shirts for $5 and$6 yesterday. We have to take our matchy Magic Kingdom pic again. LOL

Take care - Terri (I'm going to subscribe)

Ok..here is my GAD question
I have a question about my WDW Tickets GAD tickets..
I am not sure what is the best way to get the most out of the GAD.
Gabby does not have a GAD only me, she really does not ride thrill rides and unless that changes in the next 3 months, we won't be riding any of them.
I don't know if using it for FP or just upgrading it or maybe just getting the souvenir is the best option.
I plan on getting my tickets from UT and when I priced them(not inlcluding their discount) a 5 day pass would cost the same as a 6 day and be for both of us for 437.90

weezy26nm

Will do!

Nettaboo
04-20-2010, 10:05 PM
If i bought tickets straight from Disney, and not counting my GAD ticket it would cost
456.89 for Gabby and I for 6 days passes

If I bought tickets from UndercoverTourist not counting my GAD ticket it would cost
429.90 for 6 day passes

If I use my GAD pass and upgrade it at Disney from a 5 day pass and then buy Gabby a 6 day pass at Disney it will cost
161.98 +210.87= 372.85

If I use my GAD pass and upgrade it at Disney from a 5 day pass and buy Gabby a 6 day pass on UT it will cost
161.98 +198.85= 360.83

Needless to say I will be going with one of the two latter

I am trying to come up with a budget. I have an idea what I need for our ADRs and things like photpass. How much do you think is a good amount to have for a 5.5 year old??

I just need to try to come up with something for shopping and souvies..I think I want that Mickey Dooney and Bourke and I want to do Pick a Pearl. I need to make a list of who I am bringing something back for (very short list!) and a limit.
I don't want to keep telling Gabby she can't buy things but I don't want to buy a bunch of stuff. I know I will def. let her get ears, and I am going to limit the stuffed things to 2. She loves stuffed animals, I had her go through them around Christmas and got rid of a bunch. It was so bad at my house that I had to tell everyone that they were not allowed to buy any for her-of course my MIL still did!Where was I-lol.
I want to tell her that she has a certain amount to spend and then after that she is done. If I do that, then I know she will be conservative with her spending.

Well you know we all have opinions and love to share them... that being said, I was so disappointed in the Dooney & Burke purses. They are not even leather. They are cute, but I don't think they are worth the money.

I did have a thought on the budget for your daughter. Have you thought about buying her a gift card with Disney Dollars? That way she can get whatever she wants within the budget you set. It is her "money" to spend on however many items she can get for that amount.

Shopping at DTD and at Mouse Gears in Epcot are 2 of my favorite things to do at Disney. If you need me to price anything while I am there in May, just send me a note. If you PM me your email, I can put it into my phone and email you prices from my phone while we are in the park.

I thought about the GC is a good idea, but I would have to get her a bunch because if one got lost then we are done for! I like the idea..but I still have no idea how much to put on it!!LOL

I swear I can't keep up with anything now-days including my subscribed threads. I keep catching up and then falling behind again. :upsidedow

Am I remembering correctly that you asked if multiple cards could be put on one Photopass account? If so, then the answer is yes. I'm doing a share this year but in year's past, I've had up to five cards that I combined on one account.

I would love to have a Dooney & Burke purse but I am too cheap to buy one. As far as budget goes, you don't want to talk to me about that. I am a sucker for souvenirs! I always buy way to much.

To get to Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney from your resort, you'll simply catch the bus to both. On your other ADRs....will you be in the parks at the time you are going to them or at your resort (obviously, with the exception of Crystal Palace)

LOL I have thought about making a ressie so I could get in there early even though we won't eat there. I know that's wrong so I havne't. Plus it makes for an early morning!! Morning friend,

Hope you had a good weekend. Do anything Disney planning related?

Good morning!!! How are you?? I went shopping this weekend for things for The Girl..She has gotten so tall that really nothing from last summer fits. Her God Mom bought her some things as well!! JCPenny was having a great sale! Between my Burlington, Children's place and Pennys purchases- I think she is just about set. I think she may need 1 or 2 more pairs of capris and that is it.
I found her Bathing suit from last year and it still fits so now she has 3.
I have 3 complaints about the designers for this year's children's clothes..

All the shorts are too short!! They have NO legs.. so all her things are capris or bumuders(sp). Also it was VERY hard to find a one piece in her size, most things were two pieces.. And the last thing is that I am looking for some cute all white sneakers- or with 1 color.. WHY does all the shoes(nikes and reebox) have to be all these multicolors...ACCK!! Ok those are my complaints!!

First off, your princess looks absolutely adorable in her Minnie dress. It's just soooooo cute! I really want some new luggage but can't really justify going out and buying more since the ones I have are perfectly fine.

Me and Mama went shopping this weekend and we saw some little girl shorts as we were cutting through the girls department. We made the same comment......look how short those shorts are! And some of the tops are tiny. Ummmmm, I would want my little girl flaunting her stuff at an early age. :sad2:

Ok.. so on to Touring Plans..
I will start with Epcot(I don't know why I picked this one first..lol)
So far on my must sees are

Akershus at 12:30
Captain EO(taking the place of Honey I shrunk the kids) hope it is still runing in July
Get me an Adult Slushy drink
Pick a Pearl(Japan)
Nemo and Friends
Turtle Talk
Chacter Spot

Ok.. so Can you suggest anything else that should be a Must see for Epcot?? Also if you can help me with a plan of attack so I am not criss crossing the park all day.

This I might be able to help with. Are you planning on being at Epcot prior to the 12:30 ressie? If so I woud do Character Spot first. It is just to the right of the big fountain and then go to Nemo and Turtle talk. Then head up to Captain EO. There are 3 paths to the world showcase. The main one in the middle and one on each side. If you go to EO, you can take the one on the right side. That puts you in Canada, then United Kingdom then on around to France. They have frozen adult slushies. Then you can go get your pearl in Japan before going on around to lunch.

A couple of recommendations

There are really cool interactive games and things in the innoventions areas in Epcot. My sister and I had a blast playing the waste management/recylcing video games and the fire safety one.

Soarin at the Land is awesome as long a you are not prone to motion sickness. It is one of my favorite things at Disney, but you will need to get a Fast Pass or the lines are long.

Test track is a fun ride and not very scary.

Did you know Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and Eyeore can be found in the toy store in the United Kingdom. This is the only place at Disney you can get a picture with more than one Pooh character at a time and the lines are usually short since most folks don't know they are back there.

We had a very short wait to get a picture taken with Aurora outside France.

Belle and Beast are usually outside Germany and Aladdin and Jasmine are outside Morroco.

The margarita's in Mexico are yummy!

Not sure if any of this helps.

Love the minnie dress. Saw a family this weekend at Animal Kingdom who had custom shirts. Each person in the family had a different animal print Mickey Head and their name on the front of their t-shirt.

I can't wait to see the rest of your creations.

:sad2:

I love that dress and she has been trying to wear it since it came!!LOL
I don't know WHY they are making those shorts so "short"...shamefull

The luggage is really cute in person and the pink is not as bright as the stock pic. I will try to take the picture over this weekend so you can see the true colors.. Not that I amtrying to be an enabler but on overstock all their things ship for either 2.95 or 3.9:littleangel:

Hi Lisa! By now you are enjoying Disney! I I hope you have a great time!!!
I really need some new sneakers, I have been lookign for a shoe that is good for people with flat feet so I bought some Brooks sneakers because they are supposed to be really good walking/running shoes- and I have been walking in the AM and my dang feet still hurt!! I need to see if I can find a good insert because if not I am gonna be in so much pain in disney!

Oh no, good shoes are a must. When we went on our honeymoon we literally walked all day for the first few days...from 8 am until 3 or 4 the next morning at DTD. My feet have never hurt so much in my life. I had to ball up socks to put under my arches in my shoes just to keep some of the pain away. And we couldn't find any inserts for our shoes anywhere on property. That was horrible. (Clearly, since I'm still complaining about it 4.5 years later!) So find good shoes! Don't leave home without them!

Hey Terri, Thanks for the comps on the shirts! I forgot to pick up white shirts the TWO times I was in Walmart this weekend so I will get them this week and hopefully get that done. I will have to check out Walgreens and see if I see them.. are they bound or spiral? It is alot to ask somone to bring back something that you actually need, that is why I have not asked anyone.. i don't want them to feel bad if they forget!!LOL

Friday Gabby and I hung out around the house.. Saturday I co-washed my hair and took her to her party..the party did not start till 2 and we were there till after 8.. She had a ball.
Sunday I took her bowling along with one of my friends and her nephew..

I did order the drawstring backpacks that I want for the kids for in the park and I sent my sister the link to the autograph books for the boys.

I have been playing around with ridemax but it is making my head spin!!

Hi there!

I loved the invitations you have been working on for the different restaurants. Since the entire trip is a surprise for my mom, I would love to do something similar. Can you point me to any specific sites you used to help create them. I loved the Narcoosee's one. We are eating there for dinner on our first night.

Thanks a bunch!

Ok, now on to my inspirational segment :yay: This little guy looks more like jumping jacks than a yay to me. I am actually able to do a 10 minute mile on the elipitcal machine. If the description said they had zippered pockets, then that is what you should have gotten. I am a seller on ebay and I know that I have to be very exact in my descriptions. You can file a claim through ebay. That should get the seller's attention.

You can also file through paypal *there's a time limit...90 days, maybe?*, and you'll most likely get your money back. I'd try e-bay first. Misrepresenting what you're selling is certainly frowned upon!

Well, if it were me, I'd probably switch the second MK day to the last day. Why? 'Cause we simply HAVE to spend our last day at Disney at the Magic Kingdom. There's no better way to end a vacation.

I do like the fact that you have a "no park" day in the middle of the vacation. You'll need that day to rest, do a little shopping and/or resort hopping.

Glad to hear that they said they were sending out the new shipment. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they will.

I love love love dollars stores. You can find all sorts of Disney trip stuff in there. Be sure to post pictures of Gaggy's commencement. She is a darling!

The dollar stores will get you in trouble though!! I went there for antibacterial gel and calmine lotion..they had neither and I still spent 24 bucks!! I had all three kids and they wanted a toy!!LOL

I was thinking the same thing about the last day being in MK to remember BUT should I chance it being a red day??The evening is a yellow..
Do you think I should start the day late? like just chill in the pool and pack up and then go late so that we can catch the fireworks?? or maybe I can schedule the dessert party for us...won't that be nice????

Oh I never walk away from the dollar store without dropping at least $10.

I don't really go by the crowd levels any more. But, we've been to Disney enough that we know the ins and outs, the little hidden pathways, etc. The only problem with starting late in the day is there will probably be no Fastpasses left. What if you started the day early, went back to the resort to chill out a while and then go back for the dessert party? I so wish I had remembered the dessert party when I made our dinner reservations this year.

While I have never been to the dessert party, I can tell you that we've viewed the fireworks from that location many many times. It was a perfect spot and Tinkerbell would fly right over our heads. You'll definitely make some memories to last a lifetime.

Ok..so on our first full day is a MK day and we have 8:05 ADRs for CP..
I am hoping to be out of there by rope drop BUT I am not going to rush my daughter if all the characters have not come..
With that being said.. if we don't get out by 9 do you think it is best to just go straight to Mickey's ToonTown Fair to get in line for the fairies and try to do Dumbo later or on our next MK day??

I think that's exactly what I would do. When we were at Toontown this past trip, the line for the fairies was 70 minutes! But that was later in the afternoon. You can always do Toontown first on your first MK day and then Fantasyland first on your second MK day.

You so sound like me. My sisters are both slackers too and I get frustrated as heck at them. Usually, I just take charge and do whatever it is I am waiting on them to do.

I know you are glad to get the airport parking reservation checked off your list!

How many more things are on your list?

Lisa YES!! I am a planner and my sister is more laid back so we clash when it comes to get things done!! She does not really get the Disney hype either which is another reason why she was not moving- she said the boys really would not care about a book- which is part true. The oldest(almost 8) prob. won't care and the youngest (almost 5) won't care BUT he WILL ask why Gabby has one and he does not, which I don't think is fair to do to kids.

I am at the 31 day mark and my list is LONNG!! I will post in a sec.

Wow, you are so very organized. I can't wait to see the t-shirts when you are done. Do you already have postcard stamps or were you planning to get them at Disney?

Wow! You really do have lists don't you! The good thing is you have a whole lot of those things done already. Also, some of the things that you need to still do/buy are pretty easy to do/find so that's good.

I was just over on the Disney Photopass site and saw that there are a couple of special offers. I remember one being $15 off the CD. I don't remember though if it was for pre-purchase. It's definitely worth you checking it out to see. Hey, fifteen bucks is fifteen bucks.:thumbsup2 If you don't see it on the site, let me know because I emailed the link to my cousin (who was at Disney the same time we were).

I bought our pop-up hamper thing from the Dollar Tree. You know what I found to work better though (and hold more clothes)? The mesh laundry bags that are sold at Dollar Tree. I could smush the clothes down into it and it was easy to carry down to the laundry. We only did laundry once while on vacation and that was only because Mama wanted to do it. The clothes that were in the other laundry bag when we left, I just left in there and crammed the whole thing in our large suitcase.

The Walmart in our town has the mister fans. I remember them being cheap in comparison to those sold at Disney. I think they were about $10.00. They also had small misters. They are about the size of a large cassette tape and had a clip on them. I gave one to Hunter last year and he'd clip it onto his belt loop so he didn't have to ask for it every time. We refilled the water chamber when we saw water fountains. I think they were about $3.00.

Lisa,
thanks for the tips on the photopass, can you send me the link??
I have been stalking my dollar store for the tents- but the bag may be a good replacement.
We are staying at OKW so our washer and dryer are right in the units.

I forgot to tell yall what happend to my toe nail. After swim class we stopped at the dollar store. My keys fell off my ring and hit my toe-it hurt but I was glad it hit my toe or else I would not have known my house keys had fallen. Fast forward to home where I take a closer inspection of my toe to see that the key has put a hole in my nail from the bottom to the side(because my nails were very soft due to being in the water that long).. the nail was hanging on and I had to clip it off so it would not rip..so now I have a little piece of toe nail on the side on my BIG TOE!!
I was like WHY WHY WHY right at the start of summer!!!
