Hi :wave2:

This will be the first time in 3 visits where my DD will be 10. We've had to purchase adult ticket for her, so does that mean she will need to order from the adult menu, or can she have kids meals if she wants???:confused::confused:

Oh! sorry we are on dining plan!!

xx
TIA

Because you're on the dining plan, she'll be able to do this in probably most restaurants, but you will have to pay for her kids' meal with an adult credit. That's not a good deal. There's a possibility (not a certainty) the restaurant you're at might allow her a larger portion, always ask.

You could also pay cash for her kids' meals and save up the adult credits for extra meals. Any adult in your party can use them.

At buffets, all you can eat restaurants, fixed price, fixed menu restaurants and dinner shows, you'd have to pay the adult price for her no matter what she eats, so you might as well use her adult credits for those.

She will be considered an adult on the dining plan as well. As for the menu, restaurants with a buffet are not a problem. For the others, some table service restaurants will substitute items, but it is still charged as adult dining plan. Not sure about quick service.

You can also ask for an adult portion of the kid's menu item that she would like.

We just returned from WDW. We were on the dining plan. My 10 year old ordered from the kids menu a few times at sit down restaurants and we paid out of pocket. We then used the leftover adult TS credits to do an extra character buffet meal. My older daughter ordered adult sized portions of kids meals a few times as well. Quite a few restaurants offered this but did not adveritse it - we had to ask what our options were. If you really want to get the value out of your dining plan you have to get a bit creative! Enjoy all the great food!

My DS ordered a kids menu on the DDP( using an adult credit), but they wouldn't give him the regular kids meal ( the ones which have veggies, pizza, and dessert). They said that he's an adult and does not get an appetizer. So, they would not give him the appetizer portion. :confused3 I would definitely pay OOP for a kids meal!!

yellownovawife, Do you remember the restaurants that allowed you to do this? Did they give your child the entire meal or just the entree? Could they still order adult desert or did they have to stick entirely to the kids menu if ordered that way?

I have an 11 yo ds that we will have issues with...i know.

I never even considered asking for an adult portion of the kids meals. We have a 14 year old who is not a big eater. I will have to keep that in mind for the upcoming trip. THANKS!

I too, will keep in mind paying oop for kids meal and keep the adult credit for something else. Last year my daughter ordered of the childrens menu at Sanaa. She was 12. The server did offer her an adult dessert though.
