I know a girl is not supposed to kiss and tell but if i dont tell i will burst:cloud9: Before i tell let me say that Colin is the sort of man who may not say i love you a lot but goes out of his way to show me, constantly doing things for me, fixing things, helping with the kids, supporting me etc. however very rarely is he romantic or soppy, doesnt do birthday cards, valentines, so lets just say i wasn't expecting a lot. i had asked him a few weeks ago if he could acknowledge valentines exists please. I should have known that when it comes to Colin, whatever he does, he does above and beyond:cool1:
So yesterday we went out shopping and he took me for a lunch at my fav restaurant, he said this was to avoid the crush tomorrow:lmao: so that was sweet, i got taken for a meal. Last night I nipped home to get some stuff (as staying at his for the weekend) and when i came back there was chocolate fondue set up with strawberries and marshmallows, I did have the choice of raspberry cheescake too;) Obviously couldnt eat all the strawberries so have brought home a batch of hand made dipped strawberries.
Finally went to bed but wasnt allowed till midnight and knew he was up to something! There was rose petals everywhere and candlelight which no one had ever done for me before:cloud9: he told me to open up the top drawer on my side and in a bag was my valentines card and a heart shaped very soft water bottle ( i know that sounds funny but the joke is I am forvever cold when i get into bed and i didnt have a water bottle lol), so actually it was very thoughtful. Then he dissapeared again as he said he couldnt wait till the morning, and i heard the front door go?! There is this funny noise and scraping. then there is a tapping at the bedroom window and its him at the top of a ladder with a dozen red roses!!!! i may have had a tear at this point:lovestruc the rest of the night i shall leave private ahem;)
This morning I got woken up with breakfast in bed, he had got up and baked puff pastry slices filled with bacon and cheese (hand made by him!), we finally got up about midday and i got taken out to eat again to Yo Sushi which we both love. i reluctantly left at 6 to come home for the kids, turned the key and found myself walking on a pathway of more rose petals!! When i took my bag upstairs, on my pillow was a single red rose and more rose petals on my bed!!
So all i can say is after 31 years of bitter dissapointment with feb 14th, i have had everything i could ever wish for from Valentines Day, he did it all and more, I have been rendered speechless this weekend with the constant suprises, his thoughtfullness and his desire to just make me happy and blow me away. i dont know what i ever did to deserve this man, but i feel so blessed that we found each other and that he loves me and looks after me the way he does. I feel quite emotional!:lmao:
Apologies if i made anyone feel nauesous or irritated by me posting, i just had to tell someone and i cant very well put this on facebook, it will not do his tough man image any good at all, but i just had to share somewhere,
