DH & I are spending 2 nights before our Oct. Wonder cruise at WDW. I have the code for 40% rack (Thank you, thank you), should we go CBR? Which building? We want a king bed, and the view is "varied", any hints on getting a pool or pretty view and do these rooms have balconies or patios?
Or should we do courtyard view WL for $50 more a night? We plan to spend day one at the resort and day two at the parks.
Help, hints appreciated! We did Poly 2 years ago and LOVED it, going a little more budget minded this time (would love to do AKL savannah...something to plan and dream about!)
Thanks,
Susan
We are trying the CBR this next trip, but we love the WL. The theme is wonderful and it has great views. The advantage to the WL is having a balcony. We love to sit out on our balcony before going to dinner.
Hope this helps.

Haven't stayed at CBR -- but we love the WL. So many neat things to do there, and an easy commute by boat to the Contemporary, Fort Wilderness & MK.

CBR is nice, we've stayed there twice and really like it. It is more economical than WL. The hard part about your question is that you are comparing two different "levels" of resort.
CBR is nice, but it doesn't have the amenities or quite the atmosphere of WL. The rooms are good sized, but generally are a basic hotel room. The feel of each resort is very different, but we found CBR to be very relaxing. If you like tropical and laid back, this is the resort for you.
It is very quiet, however, it is also huge! Getting around the resort can be an adventure if you don't have a car! There is bus service that runs all the time around the resort, but that can take a while. (Keep in mind we are from the suburbs, where there is no bus service, so we are not the most patient people.)
The pool at CBR is well themed and has a very good poolside bar. It's located in near the store and food court, etc. so if you like people watching, it can be fun.
I hope this helps with some information about CBR. We like it alot.

Could someone please explain the different level of amenities? What are they exactly?
Thanks,
Susan

WL has interior corridors, sit down restaurants, hot tubs. The hotel is all in one building. You can ride the boat to MK or Cont or FW.
The hotel feels very isolated and you really do feel like you are in the Northwest, not Central Florida.
It is our favorite resort.

I have stayed at both CBR and WL (on the Villas side).
Since you will probably be traveling on your first day you really won't spend too much time at the resort and you'll be in the parks the 2nd day I don't think you'll be missing anything by staying at CBR. Plus, staying at CBR will save you $100 before a big cruise. CBR does not have balconies, but it does have delightful grounds to enjoy.
BTW, CBR does have a hot-tub :).
