Wednesday - July 24th

Tried a wake up call. Slept past it. Maid woke us knocking on the door at 9:00 am. We got up and headed to MGM in the morning. We did get a FP for Little Mermaid which we never went to. On the way to the BackLot Tour we saw Minnie Mouse and Sorcerer Mickey. Autographs and photos later we headed to Backlot Tour with about a 5 minute wait.

The FP time for Little Mermaid is so short (10 minute window) that there was no way we could time it to make it. Oh well... Maybe next time. While we were walking to the Muppet Movie, we saw BUZZ and WOODY!!!!! We waited in line and the kids got pics with them. Samee was so happy. Then lo and behold, who comes out as they are getting their books signed by Woody and Buzz???? Jessie!!! I got in line for her, and we got her siggy too!!!

I ran to Star Tours and got a FP, and back to Muppet Movie. We waited about 20 minutes and saw it. LOVED IT as usual. Went on Star Tours. It was ok. Not as good as I recalled. Ran to the front and bought our pictures. Then we took a cab to Typhoon Lagoon.

We were meeting friends there, adn we had enough time to get there, change and grab a burger before they showed up. Started with the Lazy River, and then did GangPlank Falls. Not nearly as good as the family raft ride at Blizzard Beach. It was so much shorter. Samee and I went to Ketchakidee Creek, while Frank and Sarah, Kathy, Mark and their girls headed to do some rides. I laughed remembering the stuff that was done at Blizzard Beach and figured NO WAY. They will ride one thing before we meet again in 45 minutes and they will be late. WAS I WRONG OR WHAT! They rode Keelhaul Falls and Mayday Falls twice. In 45 minutes. We met back up and did the Shark Reef. Mark, Kathy, the girls and I did it first. When we got back we switched off Samee and Frank, Kathy and the girls did it 2 more times, with the girls doing it a fourth time in all.

We headed to Storm Slides, and everyone but Samee and I headed up. They were down in 10 minutes or less. They said Samee could do it but she had to do it on her own, so up we went to try. The other girls went down, then Frank, then Samee followed, and I followed Samee. First thing Samee says is "can I slide again?" So, up everyone went, but me. I stayed to try to catch a picture of her coming down.

After that we went to the wave pool via the lazy river. The wave pool was great. we spent at least on hour and a half there together, then Kathy and the girls went back to Shark Reef and snorkelled another 2 times while Frank, Mark, Samee and I played some more in the wave pool. We cleaned up, and headed to DTD. Started at Disney Quest end, and got a little ticked at Wolfgang Puck, as they said they had just changed their policy and could not seat our group of 8 together. So we ended up hoofing it (UGH) to the other end and ate at Rainforest Cafe. Well, after hearing that it was going to be a LONG wait of 1 1/2 hours we joined their little club and got in in 10 minutes. The cost was 15$ and we got a free appetizer, so it was really 8.50 to cut over an hour off of the wait time.

After dinner we took the boat back to POR. It started sprinkling and lightning. Uh Oh... we are on a BOAT! Made it to POR, and picked up our packages (pictures) and started to our room - it is POURING RAIN. Well at least it hit now and not while we were having such a good time at Typhoon Lagoon.

BEST PART OF DAY

Sarah - Star Tours, Storm Slides
Samee - Storm Slides, Buzz and Woody
Frank - Wave Pool
Alaine - Seeing Kathy

WORST PART OF DAY

Sarah - Nothing
Samee - Nothing
Frank - Walking DTD after 4 1/2 hours at TL
Alaine - Rain at the end of the day

Lainy,
I've been reading all your reports. They are great. I'm glad you're having such a good time. I hope Sarah's tummy ache doesn't develop into anything. I'm looking froward to the next installment.

Really enjoying your reports...we are debating whether to do BB or TL - which did you prefer?

Nanajo 1 - We are taking her into the doctor on Weds to have her checked out. Thanx for the concern!

ShannonP - Hands down we prefer TL. We were talking about it last night, and we said next time we will just skip BB, and everyone in the family agreed. The only thing we really liked was Gangplank falls. The rest was just too long of a wait. We LOVED the wave pool and the shark reef at TL. And I preferred the lazy river there. All in all TL is much less crowded. At least that was our experience.

Lainey67 - thanks for the reply - I think we'll do TL.

Good luck with Sarah - I had the same problem when I was a kid -parents took me to have the entire upper GI series, etc. Turned out, my stomach problems always coincided with periods of anxiety and/or excitement (at that point the doctor figured out that my problems always occurred right before math class - boy did I hate that teacher, she liked to humiliate kids at the blackboard - ugh) Anyway, I basically was diagnosed with a nervous stomach. All these years later, I still get a tummy ache when I'm nervous or excited. My 11 yr. old DD is the same way. Hopefully, Sarah's just "neurotic" like the rest of us... Again, good luck.
