Does anyone know whether or not the cruises in 2011 are cheaper on the Magic and Wonder due to the Dream? My inclination is to book on the Dream but if it is significantly cheaper to book one of the others than we may consider it.

Thanks!

Choose the ship that goes where you want to go. The Dream will do the Bahamas cruises that the Wonder has been doing. Prices for the Dream seem to be lower in 2011 than comparable Bahamas cruises on the Wonder in 2010, and I think that's due to a lot more cabins to fill with the new ship. The Wonder will do Mexican Riviera and Alaska cruises in 2011 after it repositions through the Panama Canal. The Magic will continue to do Caribbean cruises in the spring/fall/winter, and Europe cruises in summer 2011.

The least expensive cruises are to the Bahamas on the Dream.

Anyone know if we can book the Dream (and get the 10% off and the obc) while we are on board the Wonder this April? Does it have to be the same ship? Also.... can it be for next yea r(2011)? I keep hearing about the Dream prices being so much cheaper. Thanks. :cutie:

Yes! I booked the Dream for 2011 while on the Wonder last December.

Its all down to supply and demand.

The DREAM can accomodate 1.5 times the people of the Magic and Wonder, so from 2011, there is accommodation increase of 175%.

The DREAM being larger has economies of scale, so covers its fixed costs quicker.

Now then there is increased competition other cruise lines are increasing their capacity, newer ships more facilities, so DCL has to compete in an aggressive market.

I always thought its best to release cruises at a reasonable price, rather than a high price, and then discount when they do not sell. As the current practice of DCL, favours late bookers, and people book later for a deal or in hope of an upgrade in port.

Unrealistic Suite prices, and now leaving these 'unbooked' and forcing a fire-sale in port on embarkation.

I have been pricing constantly the last two months. I really want a bahama cruise in 2011 and prices jumped this month about 500. disappointed because I didn't have the moolah to book last month.
