It is very tragic to hear the news of the loss of the Olympian Nodar Kumaritashvili from the country of Georgia. He crashed his luge in training today in Whistler, B.C. and died at the age of 21. How very sad.
My thoughts are with all the athletes. Keep safe.

What a sad start to the games. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and country. I am pretty sure the other atheletes are very shaken up as well.
Very sad indeed.

I also saw on the internet that a female Romanian luger was injured. She was knocked out and taken to the hospital. Then there was a USA luger who was not seriously injured. Apparently, Whistler is the fastest Luge Track in the world. I hope that this is the end to the accidents there.
My heart goes out to the young Georgian luger who passed away. So young! So tragic!

This is extremely sad... Today was a day of joy in our office. We were taking pictures with one of the Olympic torches that our CEO bought after running with it yesterday.... the Olympic Torch Relay for today was approaching where I work today. We were discussing the horrible accident walking the end of the block to where the torch was coming. When we returned to the office 10-15 minutes later we were informed the young athlete died. So very very sad. Our laughter and joy in watching the flame pass was suddenly changed to sorrow for his family and team mates.
