I went to Disney last year during free dining and have decided to go again.
My DFi and I will be in Disney Aug 29 - Sept 17. I have heard if they offer free dining again there is a maximum stay of 14 days. Since we are staying 20 days, do we not get free dining after the 14th day? We were planning on going to Universal so we would not be using our credits those days, could we use them after that 14 day maximum?

Maybe you could split it into 2 separate reservations? Like 10 days at POP and 10 days at All Stars. Still a 20 day trip in total, but...and that way if you do take a day or 2 to go to Universal it's not wasted meals or tickets.

The meal entitlements are good through the end of the check out day, but no further. (Have read here until midnight that night, but haven't tried that myself.)
As pp stated, you can book two separate res', as long as the arrival dates are within the dates required for the package you want.

You'd have to split into 2 separate reservations. If your intent is to not visit Disney parks during the last few days of your trip, just don't get a dining plan for the second part of your reservation (if you want you could even move to a Universal resort and get that front of the line access). Unless, of course, you are still planning to stay and eat at Disney.
You wouldn't be able to use credits from the first stay past midnight of the day you check out.

If you decide to do the split stay to have Free Dining for the entire trip, you will have to purchase a one-day ticket for the second part to qualify for the Free Dining. This would still be worth the cost if you are already planning on staying at a WDW resort as you can save the ticket for another trip. I believe Universal closes fairly early in September so you can use your TS for a later dinner.

We have annual passes so we have to buy a 1 day ticket to get free dining anyways. I guess I will have to research this more. Thank you very much
