We are on the 8/10 Magic to the Eastern. We just received the letter about the time change and have changed our seatting to the late.
Just an FYI - I thought this was going to end 8/3

me too, when I called DCL and asked about the trial times they told me 8/3 (our sail date) was the late date. I guess it is proving more popular than they had expected and are extending it longer.

Just goes to show you if you don't like something complain.....from the postings I have seen here people don't want it but I guess when they get on the ship it is different. Since I already have 2nd seating for my next cruise I don't have to worry but I could never imagine eating at 5:30 in the afternoon.

Yikes...we have 1st seating.
That's 2:30 if you're fr the west coast -
our daughter traveling with us will not like this :(

I think 7:45 is the second dining time. We had early seating on our 7/13 trip. We were hungry enough to eat but I liked to see the ship pull out of port and it was always at the same time you need to get ready for early dinner.

We have friends who are sailing on the Wonder August 25th. The received their cruise docs with a bright yellow sticker explaining their early seating had moved to 5:30.
I thought postings on this board reflected the changes in dining times were a trial on 4 Magic cruises. I am just curious if this is now a permanent change.
Thanks!

When we called to change our seating from afternoon (5:30) to evening (7:45), we were told they were extending the new times through September. They implied that people were happy with the changes.

Do seating changes apply to the 4 night cruises? I'm set to cruise on 9/29/02.
thanks...

I am guessing they moved up the seating times because early seating is so popular. On our first Magic cruise, early seating was all booked and our four-year-old fell asleep at dinner frequently. I saw parents at other tables who were also having a difficult time. Now perhaps people from the west coast or adults without small children will select late seating and the early (now VERY early) seating will be more available for those of us with little ones.
Just a thought.

adien2,
That's my guess, as well. DH insists on early dining, but we're from the west coast, so that's VERY early dining. I sure hope it's not disappointing. e can think of it as a very nice lunch, I guess.

I just booked for 6/29/03 and was told that the times were 6 and 8:30--I booked 2nd seating, my kids are used to eating late and the youngest will be 5 so he can handle it, but it would work better if it WAS 7:45--I was just afraid they would make this permanent and we'd be eating at 5:30!! No way! If they change it back I'll waitlist early seating.
