Here I am Michelle...finally! I wanted to get our deposit down before I posted. Anyway, we are all booked. It will be my family of 5, 3 DD's 17, 12 and 7 at time of travel and my DH. We will be meeting up with my brother and his family and some friends from home once we get to Florida. I'm really excited to do the new ship! :cool1: We have connecting cat. 11a's on deck 9. We will be doing a b2b too! :cool1:

when did you sail in Oct ? We were going to go for halloween again this oct but decided to bump to 2011 so we might be sailing on this cruise - Waiting to hear back from guest services on HA cabbin availability fingers crossed we will be joining you all !

Hey Cari We sailed October 3-10, 2010. Actually there are like 6 of us from our Dis thread from that cruise doing a back 2 back on this cruise and the one before this one! I am really excited. I do not prefer a back 2 back but wanted to go on the Dream and couldn't do less then 7 nts. Well good luck I hope you join us!

I just wanted to let everyone know that we decided to be on the Mexican Riviera next Oct. (2011). We really weren't fond of the B2B idea and we will cruise on the Dream and Fantasy in 2012 so 2011 was our yr to head west! Hope to cruise with ya in the future! Have a great Dream cruise!

Hi everyone. We are thinking about doing this one so I thought I would check in and see if anyone is here... Hello? :lmao:

We are planning on going to WDW this week in October and now we are thinking instead we may split between land and sea. Haven't made a final decision yet. For now just gonna go on and do a hold.

We are planning on 2 DCL cruises in 2012 and we are looking forward to it but it seems so far away! We made need a 2011 DCL fix since we didn't get to go this year in 2010. :sad2:

I thought there may be more people chiming in on this one after a WDW stay. We want to go to WDW at this time frame because we have never gotten to do MNSSHP. Also we are excited to be there for the 40th bday of the Magic Kingdom on October 1st.

Well, I am rambling on but hi everyone!

Hi discorsner! This thread has been a bit quiet, I think because most of us on it so far know eachother, so we talk more by phone than on here. I'm glad to see a new face (so to speek). There are a few people on this cruise that will be in WDW the week before this sailing. You will love :lovestruc MNSSHP. We have done it twice and had a blast!
We are a family of 5, meeting up with a group of 26 (so far) and about half of us our doing a b2b, going on the 3day right after this one. Let us know if you book, if you have kids, how many DCL you've been on before, etc.....anything you care to share. popcorn:: EDITED: I ment, we are going on the 4 day right before this 3 day, oops.
I'm feeling accomplished....this week I booked our rental car (minivan from Hertz) both ways and our hotel the night we arrive in Orlando around midnight, Hyatt at the airport, and the night before the cruise, Residence Inn. Trying to get the best deal possible on everything, so I will keep checking. We are in connecting cabins 9077 and 9577 for both cruises, so we don't have to move either. This will be our first time doing a b2b and our first time in inside cabins, so I hope those virtual portholes work out well. :confused3

Well guys we did it! We took the plunge and we are joining you officially on this 3nighter! We are so psyched!

We WERE doing WDW in 2011 and waiting til 2012 to cruise again but we just couldn't handle not seeing one of the new ships til 2012 so we are going to do a combined WDW stay and this 3 nighter to give us a little DCL fix in 2011. :cool1:

Do we have a list of people and their cabins? Are we doing Fish Extender gifts on this cruise? :confused3

We have only been on 2 short Wonder cruises and they were before we chatted much on the Dis or we knew what fish extenders even were. lol. So we have never done them before. However we are on 2 different 7 nighters for 2012 and those boards are chatting away like crazy so we have learned a lot more about how all this works now. Just wondering if anyone was organizing that over here?

It will be me (Deb) 34 at time of cruise, DH (Bryce) 37, DS (Derek) 11, and DS (Nicholas) 8.

Well I asked a few posts ago if anyone was starting a list and then I got to thinking how I just talked to my students about "taking initiative"! :rotfl:
Figured I should take some of my own advice and start one myself.

I am new to this so if someone has a better way then PLEASE speak up! :thumbsup2

Just going to list the dis name, the real names if I can tell them from the posts and the room numbers if I can tell them from the posts. There is a lot of missing info but if you want me to add on to your info just tell me and if I get anything wrong tell me and I will keep editing this post. Also there were a few posts where people said they may join but never returned to say they booked so I guess I will leave them off for now until we get confirmation of something different. ??

hi! So glad to be chatting with you. Here is the planned plan! :rotfl: I laugh because it could change but here goes...

September 29- October 6 Port Orleans Riverside
October 6- October 9 Disney Dream

We did the 29th as it was last day of free dining promo. We are going to book under that but look for pins or other deals that may come up. We have never been the MNSSHP so we are so excited to be going in October and we are hoping to hit it where we will have a couple of party dates to choose from (or do more than one party!).

We also wanted to be there for the 40th birthday/anniversary of Magic Kingdom on October 1st. No one seems to know if they will be doing anything special yet but we are hoping so and if not it will still be cool to us Disney fans!

We have booked moderate for now because we also booked a couple of 2012 cruises already and adding up all the costs are getting out of control. :rotfl: What else is new with us and Disney though. We have stayed at all the levels and do not mind the moderates. We are on a quest to stay at all Disney hotels some day and the Port Orleans Riverside will be our last moderate to finish off.

My hubby and boys would have liked to do Beach Club or AKL this time but I decided on this for now and then if a fabulous offer comes out or if we pay on our trips easier than planned we may switch. :rolleyes1

We have never stayed in the villas. Do you like them? Are you DVC? We are not (obviously) but maybe someday. Right now we are on a DCL kick. My hubby even carved a DCL logo pumpkin tonight with the boys. :thumbsup2

Discorsner I know what you mean about WDW plans - they are always changing, especially if you hang out on the disboards ;)

Yes we are DVC and it really works out well for us. We absolutely love having the extra space. Especially with two crazy boys.

This will be our first DCL cruise and we are excited. Our last, and only cruise was 15 years ago. This will be a whole new adventure :)

Oh I am so excited for you for your first DCL cruise and your boys first cruise! I will warn you that you may become very addicted. We started by trying a 3 nighter on the Wonder that was combined with a WDW trip. We did the cruise portion first and we seriously didnt want to leave the ship even though we knew we were on our way to WDW. And we are SERIOUS WDW fans!

My boys will now choose the cruise over anything! :thumbsup2

I am so excited to see life on the thread! I don't have much time because I'm headed out to work...but I just wanted to say Hi! You guys will LOVE MNSSHP! We've done it twice, once with a WDW vacation and once as our only WDW park day right before going on the cruise, in 2009. That time we stayed at POR and really liked that resort. It's the only moderate we can do, because we are a family of 5. I will check back in later when I have more time to chat.

By the way, has everyone watched the float out video of the Dream?

Disncorsner, thanks for starting that list! I will have to tell my group to start chiming in now that there is life on the thread. We all booked back in Feb, some even earlier and have been waiting for people to show up. I've only ever done a 7 day and those threads are nonstop chatter, so I was really surprised at how quiet the shorter cruise threads are. I'm trying to keep up with both threads since we are doing a b2b, so I will try not to confuse you guys with the 4 nighter people, no guarantees though. :rotfl:

We are meeting up with my brother and his wife, son and in-laws from Massachusets, we are also meeting up with one of my good friends and her family (our 11 DD's are best friends), all of which traveled on their first disney cruise with us October 2009. We actually wont have the group of 26 on this one, it will be on the 4 day right before this one. We will have a group of 13 on this one. How sad will it be for the other half of our group to get off the ship on the 6th, and we get to stay on for another 3 days? Well, it wont be sad for us! :woohoo:

I know there isn't much chatter over here. We are booked on a 7 night all the way in 2012 and that board is on fire. Well, I am trying to get this one going a little bit even if there is only a few of us?

Yes I saw the float out of the Dream! We were watching live. It was the highlight of our day. :rotfl:

My DS8 said, "Mom, we are not like other people." :lmao: :rolleyes1
He said none of his friends would be this excited about a ship. I assured him there were many families on the dis that would be as excited as us. :yay:

We have never done the fish extender gifts but we would definitely participate if anyone else wanted too. We think it would be fun. Our group for our 2012 cruise is already organizing it. I feel like we are behind in this group. :rotfl:

We watched the float out highlights afterward. My kids have no clue how big the ship will be in real life. Last month we saw some very small cruise ships and my boys were impressed. It will be great to see their faces when they see the Dream in person.

I have been following some of the other links showing some of the Dream photos. It will be neat to read what other's have to say after the first few cruises.

Also reading up on the various shore excursions for Nassau and Castaway Cay.

On our cruise it is myself and DH no children to tag along. I am 36 and DH is 40, of course add a year for how old we will be at cruise time... LOL. We will be in cabin 7022; we have friends that will be cruising with us also. I am trying to get here on the board here! They have 2 children but not sure if they will be joining or not. They are in cabin 7520, I think!

Cool I updated your info on the list post. Now we just need to know what if anything anyone wants to do?

Do we want to meet up on the first day as a big group? For example the other cruise I am on the people have said that we will have a meet up on the first day at 3pm. Whatever anyone on here thinks is great with me! This will be my first time ever meeting anyone or chatting on the dis before a cruise so I am not sure how it usually goes!

Also, was anyone interested in doing the fish extenders?

What things have you been researching? We are not sure what we are going to do this time either.

Previously in Nassau we have visited Atlantis twice and then just walked around the port area once. The first time we were in Nassau was no kids and we were on a different cruise line. We rented a room at Atlantis so we could use all the ammenities for the day. The last two times we have been in Nassau was with kids and on DCL. Once we just walked around the shops at the port for a few minutes and then another time when we had my parents with us and they wanted to see Atlantis so we just did the DCL excursion where we got transported over there. We walked around and did the aquarium, checked out the beautiful grounds and then headed back. It was harder on the kids because of course it was beautiful and they wanted to get in the water and couldn't because we didn't have full use of the resort. However we just said let's go back and go to the Mickey pool and they were excited! This time with the Aquaduck they will like it even better I am assuming.

So this time we are toying with the idea of not even getting off the ship. BUT, then it seems like a waste too of not doing something. Plus, it sounds like so many people stay on the ship in Nassua. Ugh... what to do?????

My kids will probably just want to stay on the Dream if I know them!

Atlantis and it's water park sounds amazing but probably too much. We may just opt for the Atlantis beach/aquarium tour. That way we get off the ship, have some beach time and see Atlantis. As for Castaway Cay it will be a beach day only. I know my oldest wants to try snorkeling so I expect that will be planned.

Well, it's been awhile but when we were last on the Wonder my boys did things like make flubber, play video games, make chocolate chip cookies, have character interactions, play games on the sports deck. Those are the things I remember. I will have to ask them when they are awake what other things I am forgetting.

However, there are probably lots of others on the boards that have lots more experience on DCL than we do!

We are doing the 4 day sailing right before this one, so one of the days in Nassau we are planning on doing Atlantis and one of the days there we are planning on staying on the ship, we just haven't decided which cruise to do which. :confused3

I booked 18 months out but it was on another cruise (1st part of Novemeber) then we changed it about 2 weeks ago to this one.

I am going to buy me a big bag of M&M's and do me a count down with them... LOL hopefully i will not eat them all before time to go...:rotfl:

We did a paper chain before our last cruise, we made it when we had over a year to go, so the thing wrapped around our entire kitchen. We keep saying we are going to do it for this one too but just havent yet. If we do ever get around to making one it will be much shorter than the last one! With less than 10 months to go now, it's getter closer, every day! :cool1:

We're on board! It will be Val and myself (Jeff) in a cat 5A. It will be our 4th DCL cruise; a 7 night Eastern Caribbean in 2001; PodCast Cruise 1.0; and PodCast Cruise 2.0. We've also cruised on RCCL, Carnival, Norwegian, and Princess.

We're doing this along with several days at WDW for Food & Wine. Haven't decided yet if we are doing F&W before or after the cruise.

Guys I just wanted to post that we are not going to be on this cruise any more :sad1: We decided to cancel.

My brother in law and sister in law have never been to Disney with their 5 kids and we have decided to do a really big Disney family vacation in August instead. We are bummed to not be on the Dream in 2011 but we are so excited for our kids to be able to share their love of WDW with their cousins!

We're going!!! It will be me (Kristi), my DH David, and our DS 3 (4 on the cruise), Taylor. We also have a 9 month old DS, Riley, but he will be stating with the grandparents. I hate leaving him but I know we can do so much with Taylor if he doesn't come. And this trip is going to be Taylor's birthday present in May. We spent 4 days at WDW last October and he is obsessed with all things Disney. Everytime he sees the commercial for the cruise, he says that he wants to go there. I can hardly wait to tell him! This will be our first DCL cruise. DH and I went on a 7 night RCCL for our honeymoon. I am looking forward to getting to know the others on this cruise! And I would love to do fish extenders if everyone else wants to!

My dear friends,

I booked the 10/06 3-night cruise yesterday (Friday 1/28) for myself and my best friend. Neither of us has ever been on a DCL cruise and I have never been on a cruise at all. My friend has been on several (including one on the QE1 back in the 60's). I would appreciate any tips, tricks and suggestions for shore excursions. I know WDW like the back of my hand but I'm a fish out of water (pardon the pun) when it comes to DCL. I'm told we are in Room 7191, category 11B.

We are doing the 4 night BEFORE this one. I wish we could do the 3 day first and then the 4 day, but the other way around worked out for the kids fall break.

Welcome to the new and first time cruisers! We are doing a back to back cruise, so this will be my families 4th and 5th Disney cruise. We are officially on this cruise! Doing b2b on the 4 night prior to this cruise too. Never have done a b2b before, so it looks like there is going to be quite a lot of us doing it. It never hurts to visit CC twice and we haven't been to Nassau before. Looking forward to these two cruises.

My DD7, who doesn't know that we're going on this cruise (she does know about our August 2012 trip) woke up this morning and told me she had a dream about being on the Dream. She is so interested in all of the new stuff, and I can't wait to surprise BOTH of my DDs on the morning of October 6! :)

Hi Everyone!

My family will be joining you on this cruise. This will be our third DCL trip. Our first was a 3 nighter two years ago - much too short. Our second sets sail on the 9/24 7 night eastern. Once we complete this cruise we will have been aboard all three Disney ships. My suspicion is that this not uncommon around here, but my neighbors might look at me funny. :rotfl:

We will be celebrating our 10th anniversay and I decided to splurge on this trip. This will be our first cruise with a verandah and we will be sailing conceirge.

Hi everyone, just thought I would pop in and say hi. So, does everyone have all their plans set? We are staying at the Hyatt in the airport the night we arrive (our flight gets in about 11:30pm) then the next day we will pick up our rental car and head to the port. We are staying at the Residence Inn the night before we sail, we have dinner reservations at fish lips the night before we get on the ship and we plan on watching the Magic set sail. It's starting to feel close, so we are getting really excited!:cool1:

We booked this cruise while on the Dream for a B2B May 8-15. We initially booked onboard for 2 cruises in 2012, but on the last day of Castaway Cay, I said, "Say goodbye to this for the next year and a half". By the time we got back to the ship, Rob said, "Why don't we cut our Food and Wine trip short by a couple days and check prices for the sailing while we're down there?" Needless to say, another cruise booked. The Dream is FANTASTIC. That was our 7th and 8th cruises, and can't wait to come back.

Definitely will participate in Fish Extender if it's officially happening. Truthfully, for those on the Magic and Wonder in the past, you will be glad the FE group stays small, since the ship is SO large. Delivering the prizes was a much more daunting task than the other ships.

Welcome new cruisers. The threads a little quiet, and the Facebook page hasn't been very active, but no doubt the closer it gets, the more active both will be. Today was the 105 day mark--booked Palo and did online check in, all was a breeze. Now we just have to get through summer. It's still 105 degrees, at 7:30 at night here in Las Vegas. HOT!

Just trying to figure the FE out. So, it looks like we have 22 members coming on this cruise, but only 7 for Fish Extenders. I think we need to make August 6 the closing date, so that the people making their Fish Extender gifts have ample time to make them.
So, that being said, its getting to be last call!

3rd night...final gift
Since we have such a small group, it won't take that long to deliver them. That's why we have 3 different things for it.

From a B2B cruiser currently on the Dream, Castaway Cay has sustained substantial damage....

I am writing this from Olive's Restaurant in Nassau, on the Dream doing a back to back (this is the 2nd one.)

I was told by several staff at guest services that the damage is heavy and bulldozers are being sent in. A full team is en route today. They told me CC would be out of commission for at least a few cruises. Reported roofs blown off and water in Cookies II.
