We're going as an extended family in December. We will have 3 seperate rooms so 3 seperate dining plans. Will we be able to split the checks? DH wants to make sure we don't get stuck paying part of the other people's bill.

Just make sure each room brings their own room key card and just let the CM know before you order, they will need all 3 cards. The CM will ask when he come to the table if you are on the diining plan just tell them and they will make separate checks no problem. Many times we have gone with our IL's who live local and they pay OOP and we have the DDP, I would say over the last 4 year we did that 15+ times and never had a problem, just let the CM know when they first come to your table. Just check your reciept after the meal to make sure they deducted the right amount of credits, better to corredt any mistakes at the restaurant then back at the resort.

Last year we went with my sister's family and had the 2 dining planes and there were no problems at all. The only thing was to remember with that large of group even with each group having a separate DP, the gratuity will automatically be included on each separate bill.

No problem as long as you tell them up front. Typically, when the server arrives, s/he will ask, "Are you on the dining plan?" and "Are you in the same room?"

Yes you can split the checks. Make sure your server knows up front who is going to be on which check.

We went last year and had dining reservations with 5 rooms, 2 on regular plan, 2 on deluxe plan and one with no plan but had the TIW card. We never had any problem at any of the TS's.

We told our waiter and he was given both cards for our two parties. We had a group of one and a group of three in this particular example. Anyway, the party of one was charged three credits and the party of three was charged one credit.

This became awkward. We knew it was wrong, but after the receipts are done they cannot correct this at the restaurant. We were able to get it fixed in conceirge when we got back to our resort.

It did take extra time trying to explain this and we had to wait in line, etc. It probably took a half hour to do it. It was aggravating at the restaurant for the party who got charged too many credits. He was apprehensive that it wouldn't get taken care of like it should. It worked out ok, but it wasn't magical.
