Hi everyone!!
Just checking in from my dialup account (did I tell you it sucks?) because my cablenet has been out since Friday!!!
AND if I am lucky it will be back today, but until then I have to put up with this. I am dying to see the Barb Con pics but I guess it will have to wait.
Hope you are all well and you have a great day! And even though I haven't responded to much, I have taken the time to read and those in need of prayers and good thoughts are getting them!
Happy Monday CB!

It sure does Cathy!! Hope you get your Cable back soon, I got rid of my dialup and because we have no cable internet we have no other option than satelite internet service, a bit pricey but I will pay , well worth it.

Been there, did that last week CC. My hard drive kicked, sputtered and died last week. I spent two days on DH's antique laptop, limping along with our old dialup at a whopping 33000. URGH! So frustrating!!!
Poooooooooooooooor baby;) ;) ;). Of course, there still are a few of us who use DIALUP all of the time:p :p .
Not to worry.........your clarity and rationality radiate through, even at 56K:cool:  ..........

I feel your pain. Our Roadrunner's been down since Friday as well. I'm waiting on my knight in shining armor - aka the cable guy - as we speak.
Oh, I think what you meant to say was that it s*ucks. ;)

I use dial up at home, and yes it sucks big time. I use a T1 line at work, so when y'all upload pics or sound files I usually wait until I'm at work to open them (takes too dadgum long to open them on dialup:( ).
Hey CC.

I hate it, too! DSL FINALLY became available a couple of months ago and we've been in heaven ever since.
I hope yours gets back on line soon, Cathy. I feel your pain....:D

I know how you feel. I'd be pulling out my hair if my cable went out. Hope yours is back up and running today.

CC we are still on dial up. We have a T1 at work because everyone cruises the internet there are times it is slower than my dial up!!:o We can get cable in our new place but we are waiting for DSL. We do not want to change providers again. BTW our cable company is Adelphia(bosses went to jail!!!). Enjoy us slow pokes way and hope you get your cable back soon. :) :jester:

Welcome to my world, CC!! I think I am the last human being on earth to still have Dial Up...If we ever get it up in the sticks where I live, it would be a miracle!! LOL Although, NHMickey just got cable down there in the lower part of the state, so maybe I am not too far off....:)
How bad is it? I've had DSL for 2 years and have just about forgotten how slow dial up is. Besides, sometimes the DSL is a bit slow loading a page. I'll admit that photos load real fast, though. When there were free dial up services I tried to sign up for one just to have it for emergencies, but I never could get any of the free ones to work with a Mac.

I have a dial up just for those times (so very rare you know) when I'm on a road trip ;) If it wasn't for a dial up, I wouldn't be able to see the DIS at all when I'm away from home, so I like it for that :teeth:
But I love my cable modem and would be very sad if I had to rely on a dial up every day, I wouldn't be on the DIS 1/3 as much as I am...not that I'm here a lot, you understand ;)

EROS, I think it's one of those "if you don't know what you're missing, you won't miss it" things.
After having cable at home & dial up at work, I made sure that I had cable when I moved out. :)

UGH I hate dial-up as well. Sorry to hear your cable modem service is down CC. I know how frustrating it can be cause it happened to me a few times with Rogers.
