I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this...I was going with this area because it's all adults and I am planning a solo trip for October. I was just wondering if anyone else was doing the new races in October at WDW? Its the wine and dine half marathon, there is a 5k, etc. I am planning a solo trip that weekend for myself...just wanted to see if others were going then and maybe find some people who have run/will run disney races :goodvibes

I have done a few races there, the (last) ToT13K in October, and the half marathon last month. It was pretty cool, and I am thinking of doing the F&W this Oct and either the half or full in Jan. For more info and to talk running with others, go to the WISH boards, more specifically the competition thread.

I signed up for the Halloween 5K. The only problem with that race is that the cost includes a ticket for the 10/3 halloween party. I didn't mind personally, but if you were leaving that day or simply aren't interested in the party, that's kind of a waste of $$.

I was thinking about doing the 5k myself....If I do sign up for it, I am staying past the 3rd to make sure I get use of that ticket :rotfl: You are right though if not its a waste sort of

The Disney races are a bit more money than local races, but I have found they are well supported as far as rest stops and such. And the medals are nicer than any other I have gotten. Plus the ticket to a post race party. But as I found at the ToT, drenched in sweat are you really going to be going on rides? Even with a change of clothes that you bring, it is just a bit too much. I walked back to BW, took a shower and went back, but at that point I was a bit out of it, so wound up leaving again.
It was a fun race though, running through the park was pretty cool.

Check out the events and competition section of the WISH Forum. Lots of info on Disney races. I am doing my first Disney race in June with at few other moms. We are leaving the hubbys and kiddos to go run the Expedition Everest Challenge and enjoy a weekend at Disney.
