It's beginning to feel like Groundhog Day (the movie) around here!

Z2H is waiting AGAIN to hear whether or not she's made it into the WDW College Program. She interviewed a few weeks ago (on the first possible day) and some of those other early applicants are starting to receive the coveted "purple folders" indicating acceptance for the Fall, 2010 program.

Please keep fingers, toes, and whatever other body parts you can :scared1: crossed!

I got really upset the first day emails were being sent out, and I didn't have anything, but people who interviewed after me did - ack! I felt like it was inevitable that I wouldn't get in.

But I realized that they are all mostly getting roles I don't want. And there are still a few weeks until the deadline I have to hear by. So... we will see.

Thanks everyone for all of your well-wishes, and I'll let you all know as soon as I find out, either way.

I have emails that contain the word "Disney" forwarding to my phone until I find out (I tried all emails at first, but I didn't realize how many emails I get in a day), so hopefully no one *cough* my mom *cough* would be mean and send me emails that say just that.

Yes, they do... which is what is worrying me, because some people who I didn't think were going to get in haven't heard anything either, so I'm not sure if they're sending out "No thank you" emails soon...

But at least they let you know either way, so you're not waiting and waiting and waiting with no idea whether you're going to need to sign up for stuff in the fall or not.

My majors are Psych and History, so besides working with people, not at all. Haha.

I would like to do Attractions or Photopass, although if given the chance to be a princess, I would not turn that down either. :laughing:

I marked off any roles that I have the slightest interest in doing though, so as to give myself a better chance, because Photopass is a very selective role, with only about 30 College Programmers (so I believe), so that limits it a lot.

Apparently they're very into "green" purple emails this time around, so I still have a few hours until they close today - maybe an email today.

I only asked because Disney just posted their professional internships on their website about three days ago, and I saw there was actually a chemistry one. Z2H- even though the College Program is different that the Professional Interns it is a really fun experience. My roommates and I were there for 8 months and loved every minute of it. Two of us were in merchandise, one was in Tomorrowland Attractions, and one was in costuming (she ended us leaving early due to homesickness). In fact the other roommate in merchandise never left and I hope to be going down again soon. All the positions can be fun, its what you make of it. Hoping you get the purple email or folder soon!:goodvibes

So I went to the meeting today, found out it was basically the e-presentation and there was no need to wait (oh well, I did meet the WDW ambassador from 2008!) and had to wait until after orchestra rehearsal tonight to start. The torture! I started the application and found out that it goes straight into the web interview, if you let it. I was so jazzed I just dove straight in, and at the end found out I was a strong candidate!

That's awesome! The WDW Ambassador from 2008 does the College Program now? That's so cool! And yeah, it's basically the E-presentation, but not quite as cheesy, haha.

I am so glad you're so excited about this - I think I called around midnight Orlando time when I finished the web interview, just like you.. and then realized. :rolleyes1

The phone interview is not bad... I am not that good on the phone either, but what I suggest doing is looking up common interview questions for the roles you'd like, and think about what you'd like to say.

Then print out a list of all of the roles you want, and put bullet points by the name with words or key phrases you want to hit when talking about that role or the program in general.

They will probably ask you "Why do you want to work for Disney?" or "What do you think makes you a good fit for this program?" so definitely think about that beforehand and jot some notes down.

Other than that, they ask you about tattoos, hair, piercings, jailtime (same stuff as on the application, they just have to confirm), and sometimes questions about diversity and roommates.

Also, they asked me about my previous job experience, what I did, which job I liked best, something I did to go above and beyond for a customer, if I ever had to deal with a boss (I haven't gotten that one for a since the first interview, so I don't know if they still ask it.)

Alright, so after that novel, I hope you have a good idea! Haha. If you don't, I'll try to explain anything else.

My dates are the 30th of August through the 7th of January, but we'll be going down on the 18th to go on vacation, so I'll just stay.

I can still host the color swap, luckily. I'll be here the whole summer, so that will not change, which is good.

And Lou will be okay, I hope! Haha. I keep trying to get him to come too, but so far it hasn't worked. I even told him about the Candlelight Processional and how he could be in it, but that didn't quite get the response I wanted. :rotfl:

Just hung up from DCL changing our reservation - saved $1k by dropping her and dropping down to a 4-person cabin from a 5. (That will help pay for one or two of our visits while she's working in WDW...:woohoo:) We are planning a DCL 2011 cruise (or two), so she won't miss out totally, just have the cruise part deferred for a while.
