I have just discovered the wonderful (and funny) Stephanie Plum series of books by Janet Evanovich. I have read the first 4 of her books in the last couple of weeks and I am hooked! I look forward to the continuing 4 (once I can locate them). Just curious if anyone else out there has read her books and what you thought.

I discovered her a few weeks ago also and I've gotten hooked! Right now I'm 1/2 way through "Hard Eight". I don't want to finish it yet....I don't know how long I'll have to wait for another. Don't you just love Grandma Mazur!:D

Grandma Mazur is a hoot! I am anxiously awaiting for Stephanie and Joe Morelli to hook up permanently, but I doubt that will happen. I am waiting for a friend to give me #5, I got to read a preview in the back of #4, I can't wait.

I really like Morelli & I hope they end up together but I'm fond of Ranger too. I'd like to see her get to know him a bit better too:D
Lula is a hoot!

I picked up the first book in the series "One for the Money" a couple of weeks ago, and have ordered the next three -- can't wait!

Here's a link to Amazon's reviews of the first book: One for the Money (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/books/0061009059/reviews/002-8021199-0429625#00610090595123)

Spoiler Warning: The reviews of the later books give a lot of hints about Stephanie's love life!!

bfeller-they are about Stephnie Plum who due to circumstances becomes a bounty hunter. They are such funny books that I get very strange looks from DH as I laugh out loud every few pages. I would absolutely recommend this series to everyone. The other characters are hilarious, there are very easy to relate to, everyone knows someone like Stephanie's Grandma Mazur & everyone wishes they knew someone like the men in her life, Morelli and Ranger.

Her books are fabulous - and Trenton-based! She lives nearby, and like the Sopranos, she bases her stories on an actual geographic area.

It's so weird that you just discovered her...So did I, about 2 weeks ago! I've read them all so far, except for #2 and 3, which I can't get from the library...They're always taken out...I love them! So quick and enjoyable to read. One of my good friends just got into her also...We met up and I looked at what book she was reading (One for the Money)...I started laughing and pulled out Hard Eight from my bag...:D

I just read the first 7 books thanks to a post by Sonya a few weeks ago and I'm about to order the 8th. I've never laughed out loud so much while reading, I could read them all over again. I love Grandma Mazur. :)

I just finished hard eight & my only complaint is that they go too fast!

I live in Hamilton, and my MIL lives in Trenton, where the books are based. I love trying to figure out if the places in the books are real or not! I can certainly relate to the women in the 'Berg with their clean houses! Not that I will ever be one of them, LOL!

I always wondered if people were kind of like what she described.

I think Hard 8 is the funniest of them all. Not to spoil it or anything, but Grandma Mazur and the bunnyman is a hoot!

Well, the neighborhoods are changing, but my husband grew up in Trenton & it's so funny to listen to his friends & family talk about all the people they knew growing up. Everyone seems to know everyone, somehow!

They don't hang out at funeral homes though! :teeth:

Just finished Hard Eight last week. WOW! Now I'm really, really anxious for #9 after that ending!

Stumbled upon those books a couple of years ago and just love 'em. Once I pick up the book, I just don't want to put it down!

They are a really fast read. Gramma is a hoot. I didn't get into the spirit until I started reading the second one. Now I am on the third one. I have all eight. I love the first person narrative and some of her descriptions. I didn't realize that nine was out. I will have to look for it.

I had to buy them at a regular store. I usually get all my paperbacks at a book exchange or a half price store, but they say they can't keep these in stock as they are too popular.

Pat, I am with you, I really got into it on the second book. I had so many people telling me that her books were awesome you are going to laugh and laugh. I liked the first book, but I didn't laugh and laugh, but I liked it enough to read number two......that is when I laughed and laughed and was hooked. I just finished #5 yesterday and began #6 last night before bed.

I don't think #9 has been released yet because her web site is still taking suggestions for book titles until the end of August.
