We stayed at Ft. Wilderness last FEB . and the main pool was under construction at that time. I am sure it has been completed by now. Anyone know if there is a hot tub there?

Thanks!

Anything you ever wanted to know about the pool renovations are discussed in this thread. (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2059347&highlight=happening+at+pool)

Not only is there now a hot tub, but the pool has a very cool slide and there is a kiddie splash zone.

Well, it depends on where you are from. Based upon your username, I'm guessing you're from Texas. Might be a bit chilly for you, unless you are from the panhandle. :lmao: BUT, the pool is heated, so lots of folks, me included, use it year round.

I think that totally depends on who is in the tub.

Thanks for the help! I will make sure to see who is in the hot tub before I get in (if I dare!) :thumbsup2. As for swimming probably some of our party will enjoy the pool - those crazy northerners from Maine. And some will definitely stay out of the water - those Texans. And who knows about the Missourians :confused3

So looking forward to our trip. Reading these boards just make me even more excited! What better place to get together with family!

I was down at the campfire 2nd week of December and stayed just long enough to see the opening act, it was freezing! Mid 30's or 40's, too cold to sit outside. Decided to ride the bike past the big pool on the way back to the campsite, there were two kids in it having a LARGE time. It was before 8pm so the lifeguards were still there, bundled up against the cold. I talked to one of them, they couldn't wait to get out of there and warm up. I talked to the two kids dad, expecting them to be from up north, they were from Tampa!

So yes, even if it is cold, people still swim! The water is nice and warm, it's the getting out that's the problem.

No, you'll be fine. The chlorine in the water will neutralize the hydrogen sulfide you expel. Hydrogen sulfide reacts with chlorine to produce sulfur chloride, an odorless solid. So, you won't gag yourself, but do it enough and solid waste product will build up on the hot tub floor between your feet.
