Hiya,

This is my first post though I have been lurking for a while!

Myself, my husband and our 2 little ones (DD turns 3 whilst we're there and DS will be 19 months) are of to DLP 5 weeks tomorrow (woo hoo!) we've been once before but that was just the 2 of us so will be the first time having to plan ahead really!!

I was just wondering how people found coping with sleeping arrangements! sounds daft but my two are used to going to bed around 7 and they may be up a bit later but I'm sure they'll be knackered so doubt we'll be able to stay out too late! I'm just abit worried whether DD will want to just stay awake with me and DH as we'll be in the same room as her! she never nods off quickly, usually chats and sings for an hour regardless of what time she goes to bed!! lol.

Also, due to cost we've decided to get the non direct Eurostar, so down to Lille and then transfer (1hr wait) on the RGV. How have people who've done this found it? The trains at 7am so I'm thinking kids should be ok and not too grumpy if I make sure I have breakfast (we'll be leaving before hotel ~Ashford Premier Inn ~ breakfast!) and distractive measures with me I hope!

Any thoughts, tips etc would be grately appreciated!!

hi, we went in october with dd 4.5 and ds 15month. they are used to having separate rooms so we weren't sure how it would go! getting to sleep was no problem, they were so tired! i went to bed at the same time as the kids (about 7.30sh i think) and my husband sat in the loo playing with his phone! the problem we had was that my son woke at 2 am and wouldn't go back to sleep! at 4 i gave up and put him in the buggy and took him a walk in my pj's! we are off again in june and have read an idea we inten to use which is to put his cot basically in the open wardrobe area, so he can't see us if he wakes in the night. we will even consider putting up a blanket to fully screen him from the rest of the room!

Hiya,

My girls are 3+4 and are usually in bed by 8pm , 7pm when they were younger. Ive travelled a good bit with them and we always stay in hotels ( i hate apartment complexs) they both have their own rooms at home and ive never had any problem with them sleeping (granted they both sleep for ireland, got that from me:lmao:). What i found in disney is after a long day we were all recked and went to bed around 8, i would then have my shower do my hair ect and be tucked up by 9 myself. On other holidays id just sit out on the balcony and read for a while.

I usually am able to keep within my routine when we go DLP, DD is so tired by the time we get back to the hotel she falls straight asleep.

I find getting her to bed is easier at DLP then what it is at home :lmao:

We've only got one DD so far and she's not a great sleeper. It seems to happen on holiday that DH and I are exhausted too so we all end up in bed before 9pm most of the time. I think us settling down for the night helps her get to sleep. We are light weights however lol.

Thank you all for your replies! I'm sure we'll be fine, as we're at the Cheyenne and DD will be sleeping on the bottom bunk I'm thinking maybe I could put a blanket as a kind of curtain so hopefully we won't disturb her too much if we can't sleep! I'm so excited now though and have 5 weeks til we go so I'm sure I'll be exhausted by our first night there!
