I ordered DD a Princess & Frog picture last week as well, and it just arrived. It's absolutely adorable and proudly displayed on her bedroom wall :goodvibes

I'm getting Disney withdrawal symptoms - it's been a few weeks since we got back from our Christmas trip and I'm really needing these Disney fixes around the home to brighten up my day. DH is going to need to shred the credit cards soon!!! :rotfl2:

Yes, I am excited about collecting the Holiday Series too! My friend collected them last year and put all 4 of them on her wall together ~ it looks fab!
Do you have any other Tim Rogerson art? I've seen on Magic Of Disney Art that he has also done a Donald and Goofy in the 'cubist' style ~ I am tempted!!! :goodvibes:rolleyes1

My fave is this Trevor Carlton original - he was on our cruise back in August 2008 doing painting exhibitions and he's such a lovely guy...

Yes, I use Magic Of Disney Art too. I do also buy some stuff from the Art of Disney Stores when we are on holiday, but I don't buy from US websites any more after getting stung for importation tax last year. Magic Of Disney have really great prices and the service is incredible. I've ordered a few things now so deal directly with one of their people and he is great! Always lots of special deals that get sent my way and they are really friendly :goodvibes :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Thank you - he was such a sweetie and when it came to the auction, I just KNEW it would look perfect above the mantlepiece in the kitchen... :cloud9:

I too have used Magic of Disney Art and once again cannot recommend them enough. I used to buy my art elsewhere but they are no where near as reliable as Magic of Disney Art.
My favourite artist is Jim Salvati, I just love his style.
Also be aware that Magic of Disney Art do layaway so you can order a piece of art then pay it up which is also handy.
Hope that helps

I suspect I will start collecting Disney art when I eventually get my own place.

I have about a dozen animation cels from different animators. They used to adorn the walls of my daughter's bedroom but when she decided to redecorate they ended up in our basement. All my Disney cels are signed by Marc Davis. Click on any picture to enlarge it:

But my pride and joy is an original 1938 model sheet used to make the movie Pinocchio

The new Disney artwork does nothing for me but that's why they make chocolate and vanilla.

Nice sericel, I saw that one on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/STUNNING-Disney-Sericel-Mickey-Minnie-On-Ice-SIGNED-COA_W0QQitemZ370299366122QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCollec tibles_Animation_Art?hash=item56378feaea#ht_5675wt _967) (with the Marc Davis signature) and was very tempted. Seems a good price at under $60 :thumbsup2

Yeah, it's good we all have different tastes! Personally I love all the new artwork, I think it's great that there are so many different ranges to choose from, from the original drawings and painted cels right through to the prints and fine art. So much to choose from there should be something for everyone :goodvibes

Wow, I'm very jealous you got to meet him! What a treat! He sounds like a really fun guy.
Yes, it's Richard - such a pleasure to deal with! I get a bit OCD so love knowing what numbers I have been given and the extra info I always ask for!! I never knew they could order in from Art of Disney. I will definitely keep that in mind for next time...Thanks!! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I'd be careful with Ebay purchases. He's been dead for 10 years now so if someone is selling an unframed sericel after all this time you should ask how they have been storing it. My daughter is 25 now so I've had mine framed and well taken care of (behind glass, never exposed to direct sunlight, stable temps, etc.) for at least 15 years. But for that money you should grab one just for the sake of nostalgia. Other than Walt Disney himself Marc Davis is probably the man most responsible for creating the Disney Magic we all enjoy today.

Karen what did you think of Cubist Couple? I got an email today about some new Trevor Carlton stuff, it reminded me to come on here and see what you thought of Cubist Couple. I love it, it's very cute and looks so nice in our hallway. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Hi! I actually tried (and failed miserably) to find this thread to ask you!!! Anyway, I love it! The size is perfect - I don't have a home for it just yet as we're in chaos here but I know it will go anywhere... Looking forward to receiving the next one... :thumbsup2

I have a sericel of Brer Rabbit that I got a few years ago. As you can tell by my username he's my all time favourite Disney character  It's tempting to get more but I don't have room at the moment!! :sad2:
