Hi everyone! Right now I only have a AAA Room only ressie. I will be needing tickets but was wondering if I should order them from Undercover Tourist or get them from Disney directly. I am also very interested in the DDP because we already have 7 table service meals booked for our trip in June. Exactly how much is the plan per adult (there are 4 of us) and how do I go about adding it on to my current AAA ressie? Don't I have to buy tickets from Disney? Thanks for any help.

The DDP can never be added to a room only reservation (with the exception of DVC reservations which are very different from regular resort reservations). You have to book a Magic Your Way package reservation. Unless you are an annual passholder or you're eligible for the military room discount, your package has to include at least a one-day base ticket for everyone on your reservation age 3 or over.
I am assuming you are interested in the basic (1 TS, 1 CS, 1 snack per night) dining plan. You're traveling in June. If you check in after June 4, you're in peak season. The peak season cost of the basic dining plan is either $46.99 or $47.99 (websites list both and we can't tell which one is correct) per adult per night.
In the past, AAA has had packages with an AAA room discount plus dining plan available - these had to be booked through AAA and were subject to availability. And yes, you had to buy tickets as part of the package.
If you keep the room only reservation and buy tickets separately, you are not eligible for the dining plan.

This is my understanding:
You can only add the dining plan to a package, so you have to convert from a room only reservation. To do this, they have to actually cancel your room only reservation and rebook you under a package. The package includes tickets and then you have the option for the dining plan. With the room only, you have made a deposit of one night's payment. That will get refunded to you and you will be charged the package deposit of $200.

The only way that you can add the DDP to a non-DVC room only reservation is if you have booked your room with the military rate.

My husband is active duty and we've already booked our room. What is the Disney Military rate?

It is a room discount offer for the military. Call Disney and ask about booking it. If you book it you can add a dining plan without a ticket purchase. If you already have a room-only reservation you will possibly have to cancel that and rebook it with the military discount offer.

40% room rate.

Keep in mind that to add the dining plan, you only have to buy a 1 day ticket through disney to make it a package. You don't have to buy multiday tickets. This may or may not be worth it based on the room rate you get, etc.
We just went in the fall and we already had no-expire tickets. We added a 1 day to make it a package and get free dining.

you only have to buy a 1 day ticket through disney to make it a package.
This is not always the case. Just wanted to mention in case someone was booking a package with a different requirement.
