We have a 23 hour layover in Paris on April 11th. We were thinking about spending the afternoon and evening at Disneyland Paris. Is it worth it to visit for only a half day?

It's a sunday which I hear are very busy, so perhaps if you knew exactly what you fancied going to see.

Though, April may be too early to be EXTREMELY busy on the weekends!

Personally I would say no.

The airport is on the opposite side of Paris to the parks so you will either have to spend an hour or more getting there by RER and changing in central paris or get the TGV which is quick but not cheap, or the VEA which again isnt cheap and will take about an hour

Depending how many of you there are it could work out very expensive for such a short visit

Will you have luggage with you as that would be a hassle as well

I would do it. The TGV takes 10 minutes from CDG to the parks and it typically costs €15 each way. As for your luggage, you could leave it at Guest Services when you arrive (for a fee) or there may be a storage facility at CDG, I'm not sure.

Oh I thought it was more than 15Euros - put like that it doesnt seem as bad

I suppose it also depends what time you could get there - when you say a 23 hr stop over could you get there for park opening or would it be later? The park may close by 7pm so you would need to look at how long you would get there

I think it depends on how far in advance you book the TGV and also what time the train is you get.

It cost me just under £26 in December which I thought was rather expensive and that was for a 9.50am train.

Returning the following day was just as much so I opted to get the VEA to the airport.

Yeah, the price can differ. I've only ever paid €15 and €17 (on the day- I've never pre-booked tickets).

That's a good point.

Personally I would say no due to travel time factor unless you get the TGV, anything else will take at least an hour & thats without traffic. Also if the parks are closing at 7pm then I would pay the entrance fee for a couple of hours.

i would say no to be honest. its a lot of hassle and a lot of money for not a whole lot of park time. even though the tgv takes only ten minutes thats if you catch one straight away. you could be hanging around waiting for one.

If it's a Sunday, going by last years park times the park will be open until 10.00pm.
In March 2009, although the park was absolutely heaving on Saturday and Sunday, after the parade 4 or 5 ish, literally thousands of people left the park, think possibly they were the locals who would have school/work the following day. Anyway park was empty and everything was walk on in the evening.
Personally I'd opt for a taxi, as I understand Sunday is one of the best days to travel in France with HGV's banned from the roads, the journey is likely to be fairly easy and quick. :)

PS If you could squeeze the morning in as well I would.

I would say it is not worth the money.

Thanks for the advice. We don't land until 11, so the best we could probably do would be noon - 7 at the park. We wouldn't have luggage, and would probably take the TGV. If it's normally super crowded we probably wouldn't do it.

I would do it, 7 hours maybe 10 if it closed at 10 will be better than nothing :lmao:

When people travel by eurostar they dont get off the train until 1.30pm and they still head into the parks!

I think we are going to make an effort - it will be pricey but hey - it's only money:lmao: I'm thinking disney then into the city to see the eiffel tower and then to the hotel. A taste of Paris to incentivize us to come back.
