DH is getting excited about our upcoming trip (thanks DVC) and he wants to know he can take his remote control truck out on the sand. Has anyone ever done something like this? DH is a big kid at heart and would be devasted if he couldn't play with his toy on vacation. :p

Thanks in advance!!

Not an expert but just came back from HH. the sand on the beach is very hard or packed down, you can ride a bicycle on the beach they even rent them. A remote control car would work just fine.

Thanks so much George! I'll let DH know that he can indeed play with is toys on the beach at Hilton Head - he will be so happy.

Although the surface is hard enough to "drive" a truck, I would be careful about taking any mechanical device to a sandy area. I know I have ruined several cameras. When sand gets into pieces and parts, it can cause problems.
