I can't believe my DD! Doing flips off diving board 6 YO!

She passed her deep water test last week which was I was very proud that she even wanted to take it! Once you take it you can then go off the boards. We made a deal if she passed she would have to tell me she was going off the boards and I had would have to be there.
Then we had tons of bad weather today was our first day back of course straight to the boards. She went off all 3 but didn't really like the highest. She said to me on the low board I am going to do a flip I just grinned and said sure go ahead! Silly me I thought she would chicken out! Nope! she did a perfect flip! all the way around landed feet first! I couldn't believe it! She of course did it over and over again!
Guess I will be signing her up for diving lessons!

Get her signed up for diving if she has the interest. At 6YO to have the kinesthetic awareness (I KNEW those Sports Medicine courses in college would pay off, FYI kinesthetic awareness is this intangible quality that lets you know where and what your body is doing, when it is in the air. Very useful for divers, gymnasts, acrobats, and the like). I coached swimming and diving and at 6 if she can do a flip, and is not afraid of it, she would be a great cantidate for diving team/lessons. Only if she is interested!

Yep very much aware of that! I am a physical therapist assistant!
I may speak to the diving coach about it. They do private lessons so I may have her take some before summer is over. She is a very athletic kid and is well suited for anything like tumbling, diving skating! I just never in my life dreamed she would actually do a flip!
Best of all I had my camera and camcorder with us! So I have it all on film!
