Yep it was Fifth's and you know what the fun part is?
I will be in pain for months! He said the swelling and joint pain in the knees, wrists, feet and hands can last 6 months.
DS13 and I went to the high school curriculum fair last night and my legs were killing me.
Tonight we went to the read in at school, and even though I was sitting most of the night my hands swelled, my wrist hurts (the one that was bothering me in Dec) and my knees are really bad. I had to take my wedding ring off because my hand swelled so much my finger was turning colors. Figures it's my left hand too! ERGH!
I'm not happy!! So I will do what I can on Swaps and hopefully DS can help me get my stuff done and in on time.

I'm quickly discovering that standing activity makes it worse so I'm trying to take it easy when I can.
I have your stuff still. I promise to mail it tomorrow! I have to mail my insurance and my oil bill too.

I will. Thankfully I am only in one swap and the due date is pretty far out. I need to finish the baby pages but DS can help with that.
I still owe people their UK stuff too. It's here and I found it, but then I think it got packed up again so I'm on the hunt for those while I sort papers for tax stuff.

That sounds like a really long time Bamb.
I guess the only good part is that you know it will end.
Let me know if I can help.

Oh my goodness, you poor thing. I have knew adults could get it and I knew it would be painful to us, but I had never personally heard someone get diagnosed with it. It does take a long time to get it out of your system. I always wondered about it when my DD had it. I can't believe that DH nor I have gotten it. So maybe we both had it as kids and are immune! I wish you a more comfortable recovery. Hope you start to feel better soon!

I'm glad to hear it's been diagnosed, but sad to hear it may last so long.
Take good care of yourself!

So sorry to hear this. But let's look at the upside
it's not Lyme. Rest up and take good care
of yourself. And rest when you can. I'm sorry that
it will last for so long.

Oh buffy Prayers it doesn't last that long. Can they give you anything for the swelling and pain? Be glad it isn't lyme I know a few people with it and they are on SS disability it is so bad many days they don't get out of bed.
Hang in there. I'll pack Nana's wheelchair for CKC if need be. Don't want you to miss it cause it would cause you pain.

A diagnosis is a good thing. Can they give you anything for the symptoms? Just seems like a very long time to suffer!
Hope you have more good days than bad! So sorry you have to go through this!

ugh, didn't even think about that. I hope to be 100% by then. If not I will just have to adjust my plans and either get a wheelchair for the days we go to the park or just skip the parks all together.

There really isn't anything to take besides Motrin. Yes, I am gald it's not Lyme because then it would never go away. My brother has Lyme and on occasion he gets the joint pain and swelling, which is why I was concerned.
I'm glad I'm not driving to CKC, I'll just need to limit how much walking around I do.
Right now the biggest thing is the pain in my left wrist, worse then it was before Xmas. I had my brace on today but it didn't seem to help. I'm going to soak it in the paraffin bath tonight to see if that helps any.

Buffers,
Talked to Winnie-Woo the other day, all's well just SSDD I think.
Mac and I are good, cold but good (it actually snowed down here again today)really really looking forward to vacation. My Mom's coming with us and I bet you could fit into her luggage, however she wants to take a train down here so it's about an day's trip.
:)
Is there a treatment for this, or does it need to run its course? Hopefully the six months go by quickly for you. SDV then!

It just needs to run it's course, unfortunately.
Jennz said hers only lasted about a month so I'm hoping that's all I have to deal with too. Today my feet hurt but I'm braving Ikea, I want their mac and cheese! LOL I'll get DH to push me around in a buggy. LOL

My DS and DH had it this summer. Luckily for DH his joint pain only lasted a couple of weeks. There were some days that it was tough, but those were right in the beginning. He has had no lingering effects.
Hope your recovery is as quick as his was!!

I hope so Denise! So far I'm doing ok, just my hands start to hurt by the end of the day. And I can't wear my rings.
