View Full Version : Where else do you use your golf cars?

We are new to RVing, and are currently looking at buying either a TT or a fifth wheel. We expect we will spend 10-15 days a year at the Fort in addition to our other camping. With this in mind, it is hard to justify buying a golf car solely for use at the Fort. However, we are not exposed enough, yet, to know whether we would want the use of such a cart elsewhere. This decision would heavily influence any choices on a trailer.
So, for those of you who own golf carts, where else do you use your cart? Just trying to get an impression of if/when we'd want to do this ourselves.
Thanks...

We use our buggy at the Fort, of course.
Some times I just like toput my beer inna red cup and just sit on the buggy and pretend we're at the Fort.
We drive our buggy all around the neighborhood, all the time.(our dogs love it)
We ride it to the neighbors house instead of using the car.
We live on 5 acres with a pond in the back, I ride it to the pond to fish.
And not all, but some campgrounds allow carts.

We live in a 55+ community and use ours all the time. It stays plugged in right next to the front door. Of course, our primary purpose for getting a cart in the first place was to take it to FtW with us. :thumbsup2

We have ours for riding around the campground where we are seasonal campers in Ohio. We also have used it for trail riding in the area, riding in the neighborhood, for charity events like a 5k marathon for a pace/race offical vehicle. It has been on the ice at a Cincinnati Cyclones Game to haul Matt Kenseth around. We used at my former boss's farm to trail ride and drive people around the property for tours, and we have entertained the idea of taking it to the fort for a trip there someday........

We use ours in the neighborhood, at other campgrounds. But if you buy one that can be street legal, you can use them on streets that the speed limit is 35 miles or less. (I am not sure about the 35, but know u can use them in a lot of areas)

We sold ours real cheap, so we don't have one anymore.

we also have 3.5 acres and use ours all the time at home. our driveway is about 400' long and we get our mail almost everyday with it. we also take it up north to the property there.
at night it is great for sneaking up on the neighbors when they are outside by their firepit. ours are electric.

I take mine to every campground we go to. I always ask in advance and provide proof of insurance. Many place will allow them, some do not. If they do not, we stay elsewhere. We wouldn't be without ours. I have mine customized and really enjoy riding it. We have a toy hauler fifth wheel to transport ours. Good Luck.:cool1:

We are lucky to live in a town (Peachtree City, GA) that has over 90 miles of golf cart paths and greater that 5000 registered golf carts. There is actually more miles of paths than roads.
We use our golf cart to take the kids to school, go grocery shopping, out to dinner, to Walmart, Target, etc... One busy holidays like the 4th of July there are actually golf cart traffic jams on the paths.
It a great place to live.

That sounds too cool.
We use ours around the farm here since we have family living all around us. I think Ocean Lakes still allows them at Myrtle Beach, although a lot of campgrounds are banning them. Too many drunks and youngun's running around the campground running over folks.
But for some reason, it seems to run it's best around the Fort.
