Hi there, we are going for a 5 day trip arriving on St Patrick's Day - 17th March. Does anyone know if there is an extra parade or fireworks on St Patricks Day and if so are they in the afternoon or evening. I've seen that the hours are slightly extended for this day but only by 1 hour. I don't know whether to book the disney express service so we can go straight to the parks or to stick with the current plan and just go to the hotel, check in and then go to the parks a bit later on (we arrive at about 1.30pm)

Also does anyone know what the weather is like in mid March. I'm worrying about buying thermals for the kids (and me) !!

Thanks

I went last March and for three days it was warm enough to not wear a coat. It was a bit chillier on the fourth day. As for St Patrick's Day, I'm not 100% sure but I think I've heard something about a small parade/show they do to commemorate it.

By the way, I would book Disney Express, as your room might not even be ready at 1.30pm. :thumbsup2

Personally, I'd be hitting the main park as soon as I could on St Patricks Day - as well as the fireworks, which I'd imagine will be a park closing time, they do have other shows etc on that day only (or they did last year, on the stage near the Castle), plus meet n greets with some of the characters in special costumes for St Patricks Day (again, only for that one day).

Ah, so they do have fireworks. That's interesting to know. :)

I did not think about the room not being ready. I think I will book the Disney Express service both ways just to save more time for fun in the parks.

Glad to know it is not usually really cold either - i can stop worrying about buying thermal socks !

Thanks

We'll be there St Patricks Day too. :) I've read here that the weather in March is very unpredictable. I think last year wasn't too bad but it could be sunshine, snow, wind or rain. We'll be bringing layers.

I found this (http://img218.imageshack.us/i/img0004ed4.jpg/) schedule from a previous year while searching the web.

I was there twice in March - 2005 & 2006 & both times it was very cold. In 2005 the waterfall at Skull Rock was completely frozen. We definitely needed hats, scarfs, gloves & plenty of layers.
