We will be taking our 5 year old on her first trip in May. I have no idea how she will be with characters. She seems very excited, but can be a little shy.
Right now I have booked the deluxe plan and have all my ADR's planned.

Sat- Arrival12pm, staying at Poly, dinner at Ohana
Sun- EPCOT- Akershus 8:05, Le Cellier 4:35(hoping to change to later if someone cancels)
Mon- Ohana 8:00, Waterpark, Jiko 6pm
Tues-DHS- Snacks for breakfast, SciFi Lunch 11:15, Mama Melrose 4:35 (fantasmic)
Wed- MK-Crystal Palace (8:05), CRT 5:30
Thurs- AK Tuskerhouse 8:05, Hoop de Doo 5pm
Fri- Chef Mickey 8am
This is my line up right now. I left 3 credits open for lunch when we arrive, waterpark, and one for WPE at DTD

I love to eat and we are big breakfast people, but am now wondering if since it is the first trip if I should test the waters with the character meals and tone down the plans a little.

Here is what it will look like if I do the basic plan
Sat Ohana 5pm
Sun Akershus 8am, Le Cellier 4:35
Mon Ohana Breakfast(oop), Chef Mickey dinner
Tues Sci Fi 11:15(oop), Mama Melrose 4:35
Wed Crystal Palace 8am
Thus:Maybe keep Tuskerhouse oop or just CS meals
Fri- snack in room for breakfast, checkout

Some notes- we will check out Fri and move offsite for 4 nights so we can hit the parks if we miss anything

Should I keep deluxe or just save CRT,HOOP and Jiko for the next trip?

Thanks to anyone who makes it all the way to the end of this post!

Looks to me like you NEED that Deluxe unless you want to do the OOP on some things. If we were breakfast eaters we'd do it too; or if we had several character meals or signature meals planned. We are just doing CRT so we switched to the DDP, but everyone's needs are different. I think your DD will have a blast! Mine is 5 as well. Are you doing BBB?

No BBB for us. I think I have the only 5 year old girl who actually said she doesn't want to do it. I showed her all the pictures and was willing to go all out and let her get the dress and everything. "No thanks":confused3

My DD just recently started getting "girly". I was shocked and SO happy when she said she wanted to do it this past June. Now we are geared up for next month, but it wasn't that long ago that she was all about Power Rangers and Hot Wheels :)

I like your deluxe plan better! Sounds like a really fun trip!

If you can afford the deluxe, go with it. Otherwise, your basic plan is really good too. I think about it like this....if Im likely to go back soon to do the things I did not get to do, then go w/ basic. If you think it will be a while until you return, do it all and get the deluxe. There is nothing quite like your child's first trip. For my kids ( and us parents too) it truly was magical. As I said b4, if you can afford the delux, go for it! :cheer2:

Your DxDp plan looks great. We went last year for the 1st time when my daughter was 4, and did a lot of character meals. She is also shy but did well with the characters.
