We are planning first family trip March 1/2010 and need advise and appreciate your comments.
1. Renting house in Kissimmee Windsor Hills, rather than try and find parking need to know if transportation available to get to Disney World?
2. Restaurant suggestions kids 17, 15, and 13 easy going but a little overwhelmed with the list at each place.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Well, that is a start and I hope to hear from anyone out there, please!!!

HI!:)

I just wanted to say WELCOME TO THE DIS!:)

I don't know the answers to your questions, but I think if you would post the question about where you are staying on the Resort Board http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=12 and the question about Restaurants on the Restaurant Board http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=30&f=14 you may get a lot more help there.:)

Have FUN planning!:)

:welcome: to the DIS!

I have never stayed off site so I have no info on transportation. You could try the Orlando Hotels (http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15) board (these are people who regularly stay off site) or the Transportation (http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16)board.

I will list a few of my favorite counter serve (CS) and table serve (TS) restaurants for each park.

Magic Kingdom: Cosmic Ray (CS), Columbia Harbor House (CS), Crystal Palace (TS - characters)
resorts outside of MK - The Wave @ Contemporary Resort (TS), O'Hana @ Polynesian (TS), 1900 Park Fare @ Grand Floridian (TS - characters)
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons (CS), Tangier Cafe @ Morocco (CS), Yorkshire Fish Shop @ UK (CS), Biergarten @ Germany (TS)
Hollywood Studios - Studio Catering Co. (CS) ABC Commissary (CS), 50's Prime Time Cafe (TS)
Animal Kingdom- Flame Tree BBQ (CS) best CS location in all the World in my opinion. I haven't done any TS here.

Have fun planning your trip! :wizard:

Your kids would probably like Sci-Fi where you get to sit in a 50's replica car and it looks like you are at a drive-in movie, or 50's PrimeTime where the servers get on the parents for things like their elbows on the table. Whispering Canyon is kinda' neat too. Ask for ketchup and YOU WILL GET KETCHUP! Just some fun suggestions. You will have a great trip!
