I know you've heard me say that I don't eat sweets, but I can't pass up a good Kingcake. :thumbsup2 http://www.kingcakes.com/

Yum! I had a friend in college who was from LA and her mom sent one to her, and she was nice enough to share. Maybe I'll have to order us one this year. :goodvibes

I have been making a King Cake for Fat Tuesday for the last few years to take to work. I tell everyone whoever finds the baby has to make it next year but no one ever does. So I guess I will make one again this year.

Corey, I have a $10 credit at Paul's in Picayune because they shorts me a small cake in a 6 cake order. Thanks for reminding me that I need to get my order in! I do love Randazzo's though. I got one there two weeks ago at the counter in Metarie. I don't know if they have another location in town.

P.S. They (Paul's) do a Saint's themed version too and there is time to get it before this weekend! Geaux Saints!

Ther are 3 different Randazzo's, each owned by competing members of the Randazzo family. The link Corey provided is for Randazzo's Camellia Bakery in Slidell.

The Metairie location is http://www.randazzokingcake.com/.

Last is the Covington location at http://www.nonnarandazzo.com/

Not to mention every Rouse's and Wal Mart's in the area have them, but why? :cool1:

Its not my turn to get the king cake this year. I think it was my daughter who got the baby last year, so that makes it her turn. :goodvibes

They look yummy but are a bit pricey for a cake/danish. It better be really good. I think I have sticker shock. :rotfl:

Yeah, it can be a little expensive having them shipped. For me, it's more about the tradition than how good the cake is. I've started making my own king cakes at home every year. They never turn out as good as one from Gambino's or Randazzo's, but that's ok. It's the thought that counts. :goodvibes

We are having some friends over for the Super Bowl and I was trying to figure out dessert. Maybe I should do a Kingcake. Is that okay even though I'm rooting for the Colts, sorry Corey!
