Hi all. I have a sort of odd scenario which I will try to explain quickly.

DH and I are going to Disney. We will sometimes take our two small nieces (ages 3 and 9) with us to the parks. (They live in FL but don't do Disney )

I think DH and I are going to try the DDP for the first time. We also have TIW. Will he and I be able to eat on the DP and pay cash for the two girls? Would we be able to use our credits for them if we had them available? If we could, is this going to be a giant headache explaining who is on the DP and who is not? We were thinking of getting the Deluxe Dining Plan and thought that we might be able to share it with at least the 9 yo but pay cash for drinks, aps and the 3 yo kids meal.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. And you can even use your TIW card (where applicable) on them, or on any "extras" you buy.

Would we be able to use our credits for them if we had them available?

No, credits are non-transferable to people not on the same reservation.

If we could, is this going to be a giant headache explaining who is on the DP and who is not?

Nope, just tell your server up-front to make it easier.

If they are going to be staying in the room with you, then if you want to be on the Dining Plan, they have to be as well.

For table service meals you can usually only use the same number of credits as the number of people on the reservation. So if you only have 2 people on the Dining Plan, you can only claim 2 credits at a time. I think Counter Service works differently (at least you could run two different transactions), but that wouldn't be the best use of credits.

Disney does not allow sharing of meals on the Dining Plan, especially with people who aren't on the Dining Plan.

You can definitely pay for half the meals with credits and half with cash.

Thanks for the reply. I am glad that I can split it up as part DP and part cash.

How do we pay for our meals? Are all our meals on each of our keys? IE, when we pay for a meal do we each give our key? (sometimes I forget my key back at the room).

Thanks again for the reply. [It would have been nice if I could have used three credits (me, DH and the 9 yo) and just bought the 3 yo a kids meal.]

All the dining credits for your reservation (in your case, I understand it is you and your DH) will be pooled together - see it as being one account. You can access the credits by any of the room keys. It is kind of like having a bank account where you both have a card. The credits are pooled into the "room account" if that makes sense - not connected to you as individuals. So you can just use one card if that is easier. That can be any card by the way, it won't make a difference.

If you have an AP or tickets that aren't on the KTTW card then as long as one person has their KTTW card you can just use it for the dining. You won't be able to take part in EMH's without your KTTW card.

We usually have AP's which is why I tend to forget my room key. We have one of those passporter pouches and that is where the AP's go as soon as we pass through the turnstyle...so I just have to remember my camera and that's it! (hence why I tend to forget about the room key)

Thanks for the reply.
