How much time to truly see it all?

We're considering extending our Disney vacation by a day so my 11 yo DD can see Sea World for the first time. Since we're on the Disney Dining Plan, we'd like to be back in time for dinner. Can we see it all getting back to the resort by 6:00? If not, what are the can't miss things for someone her age. She's not into thrill rides. I haven't been since I was her age.

It took us two days to do the entire park back in 2006. It was me, DH, DS9 and DS11.

There really is only one or two ride that I remember, so, that won't be a problem. The things we did that I consider a not to miss:

Feed Dolphins
Shamu Show - Believe
Dolphin Show - Blue Horizons
Clyde and Seamore Show - Sea Lion and Otter Show

I think its very doable in one day.Get there at opening and hit Manta(if your into coasters)then hit Kracken and Atlantis.After that keep A eye on your watch for showtimes,if done correct you will see it all..

I agree with donald ^, I think it would be eaily doable. Your DD won't like there three main rides since there thrill rides, but they have a simulator she would like and a huge play area. Shows are scattered throughout the day so just plan it right and I don't see how it would be a problem! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies! How much of a thrill ride is Atlantis? DD loves Expedition Everest, just not the monster coasters. I really appreciate the feedback.

If she can do EE, I would say she can handle the Atlantis. Has she ridden splash mountain? Similar with the big drop, but Atlantis has a little roller coaster in the back after the fall (quick little burst, not really a big drop or anything), but nothing compared to EE.

Even without doing the thrill rides it is hard to do everything in a day, but if that is all the time you can give to SW do the things you can and enjoy them.

The shows are set up for you to go from show to show so first thing figure out your pattern for seeing Blue Horizon, Believe, Clyde and Seamore, Pets Ahoy, and Alure( the only I would skip if I had to.).

Definitely go on Atlantis( check out the floor and ceiling aquariums at the back of the gift shop) and On Wild Arctic( a similator) which leads to the balugas, walrus, and polar bears.
There is a whole kids area to play in that has rides for kids, too, depending on how old your daughter is.

Try to at least feed the dolphins, but go to the sea lions and rays pools to watch or feed them, too.

Even if you do not ride Manta there is a wonderful aquarium next to the line so go in there to see the mantas , octopus, and other animals that aren't in the rest of the park. There is also the manatee area which if you have never seen one, you should. Also the Shark encounter tube is a don't miss. There are wonderful aquariums leading to it and you will see some amazing things.

Depending on when you will be there. Summer? The park closes at 10 and they have night shows that are different than the day shows and are my favorite thing to do in the summer.

SW gives you a free day when you buy a 1 day ticket so you might want to consider spending a day in the summer. Head back to Disney for your dinner and Wishes. The next day go to a Disney park, eat a earlybird dinner and head over to SW for the night shows and fireworks. Works better doing the night shows after you have seen the day shows because SW pokes fun at the shows in the Clyde and Seamore Tonite show.

Don't miss the penguins or the wild artic (polar bears and beluga whale). I think that one has to leisurely stroll through the park and take in all of the exhibits to truely enjoy it. Packing it all in a partial day (since you want to be back to DW by 6) is going to be tough.

LOL I forgot all about the penguins and they are one of my favorite places to chill out in on hot days. Definitely have to give them at least a half hour, too. They just make you feel good.

We did one day, in December, so it closed at 8. BUT we didn't do the big rides, DS's are only 6 and 3. I think in one FULL day, if well planned out, you can do it. Just be sure to have a good plan ahead of time. We did and it was pretty easy to stick to it, unlike in Disney, we can never stick to a plan there!

Instead of heading back to WDW for dinner, use your extra DP for a Signature Dining that takes 2 credits or do a breakfast :)
