As I mentioned yesterday, I lost it big style in January but I have given myself a kick up the bottom and I'm determined that February will be a more productive month in terms of weight loss. With that in mind, I am aiming to lose 1/2 stone by end of Feb.
Good luck to everyone else for this month :goodvibes

Well my diet began this morning. January has been mad between my holiday and all my family birthdays, so I have lost it big time too. So I weighed in at 10st 5lbs this morning, and I want to get to 9st 10lbs as soon as I can, then 9st 7lbs by the summer
I've also given up the booze for a few weeks, so no more white zinfandel on a Friday night at F&B's, I've offered to drive, but thankfully Lost starts on a Friday night so I won't have to worry about that ;) (though I am looking forward to a few Cosmopolitans when hubby & I head up to Manchester for a shopping weekend at the end of the month)
My weigh-in will be on Friday's, so see you then
:wizard: Good Luck everyone :wizard:

January wasn't a bad month for me. My method is to be fairly strict all week and allow myself a few treats at the weekend. I don't weigh myself but I feel much healthier and energetic, plus a few people have commented that I look slimmer. Also, I finally feel settled into my gym routine! :)

i lost a grand total of 4 lbs in January but I started late and hit a hiccup straight away by staying the same the first week :rotfl2:
It will be a slow and steady weight loss but I feel quite motivated so hopefully results at the end of Feb will be better.
Going to a Ceilidh on Friday night it's a bring your own bottle & nibbles - it will be a few wee vodkas & diet lemonade for refreshments but what could I take for nibbles to encourage me to stay away from crisps & nuts? I know I'll need something all that dancing will require lots of energy :rotfl2:

So true - I hated this January!!! Fingers crossed February is an improvement - tho' I seem to recall it snowed very heavily in early Feb last year...

I have lost 3lbs this week I think. Bit disappointed with that, as Ive been REALLY REALLY good....better than i have been for weeks! but hey ho.. its all going in the right direction!
Well done to everyone for their losses! Its difficult to get motivated in this cold weather.
Started work with a personal trainer today... it was fun and he has lots of ideas that will help me lose weight faster and also try to tone up the wobbly bits! (of which there are many!)
I have lost 8 stone 2lbs so far.... but still a work in progress!

Sorry for not posting earlier - this is my results for Saturday so technically January.
I lost 2lbs so thats 8.5lbs for me :cool1:
Really pleased as I'm really enjoying WW and don't feel I'm missing out at all - if anything I'm eating far more than I used to :confused3
If I can lose 5.5lb this month I shall be over the moon. Might be a bit too high a target but I'll give it a go. I did have an indian and a small bottle of bacardi :scared1:on Saturday so any loss will be great this week.
My clothes are all feeling better but best of all I've lost my back B**bs! :rotfl:
Good luck in February everyone. This thread is really motivating and I LOVED the before and after photos - very inspirational!

I think i'm all caught up now!
Everyone is doing so well, like some of you I have written off January. :guilty: I have changed my SW group as I didn't like the approach of the woman at my old group, she was very tough with people and actually made one woman cry. :scared1:
Anyway I have been this morning to a different group, I was dreading stepping on those scales as I haven't been weighed since 16th December and have not really been on "the plan" properly since then. However I decided to get it over with and start again from today. Well I guess i've been harder on myself than I realised as amazingly I lost one pound!!!! Which also mean't I got my one stone award! :woohoo:
Good luck for this week to you all. :wizard:

Hi everyone!
I have finally stopped using my youngest DD as an excuse for my weight gain - as she is 2 and a half, I think it's about time.:rotfl:
I've done Weight Watchers before and lost almost 3 stone but all of the meetings seem to be at 5.30 or 6.00 which just isn't practical when you've got 3 children. Other times are when I'm working.
I've just ordered the Paul Mckenna book too.:confused3 Not too sure about that though.
My self-esteem is too low for me to weigh myself just yet (and I'm not posting it on here until I get over the potential shock) but I thought I'd get a weight loss ticker in a couple of weeks and join you for a bit of support, if that's ok.:)

My self-esteem is too low for me to weigh myself just yet (and I'm not posting it on here until I get over the potential shock) but I thought I'd get a weight loss ticker in a couple of weeks and join you for a bit of support, if that's ok.:)
When you're ready, we're here, hun... Have you looked at WW Online?? :goodvibes
Good luck for the coming week, everyone!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hi everyone!
I have finally stopped using my youngest DD as an excuse for my weight gain - as she is 2 and a half, I think it's about time.:rotfl:

I joined WW on line 4 weeks ago and love it! It was £29.95 for 3 months as they have a special offer where there's not registration and then it's £9.95/month after that.
Great tools for finding out points and also for working out points to your own recipes. Also their's lots of support - 24/7.
I couldn't make the local class but I'm so glad I started online. I can't imagine not doing it that way now.

Thanks everyone.:goodvibes I will psyche myself up to getting on the scales before Valentine's Day. Yikes.
I looked at the online WW, but I think I would prefer the support (shame) of getting weighed each week at a class. I've found one that is on at 7pm, so I might be brave and go along. I wish I had a fellow fatty to go with - unfortunately all my friends are slim.:sad1:

Good luck with the new group - I have to say i think it's terrible your old gorup leder made somebody cry - we feel bad enough in the first place which is why we join slimming clubs!
I agree, I don't know what happened as I wasn't there but it was a friend of my sisters. She also upset me a few weeks ago too.

Well done to all so far, I have lost another 1lb this week which means through January I lost half a stone. It wasn't easy last week, the Mother in Law was making pies and my son was making cakes so I am happy I did this well.
Better week ahead I hope.
Best of luck of those still to weigh.
steve
Well done Steve
:wizard:
Well done Claire - I know what you mean about evil slimming club leaders. I hated my old SW leader too - she wasn't even that thin so it made you wonder if she was practising what she was preaching :rotfl:

I started my diet on 20th April 09 and Im following a diet programme through a company called healthier weight (healthierweight.co.uk) .. they have a meal replacement programme called Weight to Go and Ive found it to be amazing. To say I have tried everything in the past is the under statement.
I also go to Birmingham for weigh ins every week or two but you dont have to do that you can just follow the programme from home.

I'm so sorry not to have kept up with the thread, but I got some very distressing news at the weekend and couldn't concentrate for long enough to read through everything. Thankfully things are now looking more positive.
I stayed the same last week, but think I have lost 5lbs 'ish' this week as I have had no appetite. I'm not going to my weigh-in this morning as I've been on nights and need to go staright to bed.
Well done to you all, and I hope to catch up soon.
Lorna x
Hope your ok Lorna.
Weighed in this morning and I've lost 1lb this week which is OK - I don't mind how s-l-o-w I go as long as I get to my target! ;)
Well done hun.

I haven't been able to keep up with the thread for the last couple of days, as some of you know youngest DD has broken her leg quite badly and as I weigh myself at the gym on a monday morning that isn't going to be happenening for at least six weeks so I doubt I'll be able to post my weight regularly.
She is still in quite a lot of pain and I am sleep deprived but determined not to turn to food especially as I am now quite house bound.
So, at this stage I am going try my best follow the thread but will not be posting my progress so often. Very best of luck to all of you losers:thumbsup2

They were both making up dance routines in Anna's room whilst I was cooking dinner on thursday evening and she tripped and twisted her ankle and fell awkwardly and snapped her tibia half way up her shin. Ouch! :sad2: She has a hip to toe plaster but will have that off on tuesday and replaced with a lightweight fibre glass plaster. There is a chance it's a spiral fracture around the bone in which case she made need an operation.

I finally plucked up the courage to weigh myself today. I am 26lbs overweight.:sad2: I am truly horrified. I've just eaten my Sunday lunch and I have left the table so I'm not tempted to eat loads of leftovers like I usually do. I have a long way to go.

Well done for taking that first step to get on the scales. When I started my diet last January, I had about twice that amount to lose. Now, after a few blips along the way, I have lost 26 lbs (although i had lost that mid-way through last year) and still got another 14 (or so) to go.
You can do it, hun, and we are all here for you :goodvibes

It is shocking isn't it. I have a friend that genuinely loves high intensity aerobic classes of all kinds, she does it probably everyday so doesn't really have to watch what she eats but says in an hour of hard high intensity spinning she burns 300-400 cals which is four of those cookies :scared1: when I think of it like that and think about what I've eaten in the past it's a wonder how I'm not 30+ stone!
Still don't know my weight at the mo but I am still trying very hard to be good but it is hard when you're housebound and visitors keep popping in with treats ;) Just wanted to stop by and say well done to those that have lost and STS:thumbsup2

I needed a motivator, so I talked w/ DH & made a deal w/ him. We can go to Disney again when I reach goal. I'm serious now.
Wish me luck. God help me get through Mardi Gras, but I have something specific to give up for lent now (king cake).

Hello everyone. Hope you don't mind if I jump in on this. I, too, am on the WW train. I lose one week and gain the next. I had 1/2 of my thyroid removed in September, and have been on a roller coaster since. They are still playing with my medicine UGH! Anyway, stick with it it will work out. And if you only lose 1lb a week that's 52 lbs a year. Not too shabby. Hopefully I will get my meds right and start downward again! I'm working out 4 days a week just to maintain. Except for this week, because I'm going home to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Hopefully I can stick within my points for the weekend.:rotfl:

But this morning's my real weigh-in so I stepped on the scales only to find that I'd put those flippin' 2lbs back on!!! What the....??????????????? :confused3  :faint:

I haven't been able to keep up with the thread for the last couple of days, as some of you know youngest DD has broken her leg quite badly and as I weigh myself at the gym on a monday morning that isn't going to be happenening for at least six weeks so I doubt I'll be able to post my weight regularly.
She is still in quite a lot of pain and I am sleep deprived but determined not to turn to food especially as I am now quite house bound.
Hope your DD is well on the mend Joanne:hug:

Sorry late again. My weigh in was Saturday and I lost 1lb.
So frustrating as my sister and I started together and I've lost 10.5lbs and she's lost 9.5lbs. She's already dropped a dress size - me nothing! :confused3
At my slimest about 15 years ago I was a stone lighter than I am now and was still the same dress size! Not one person has noticed I've lost weight - except DH as he see's me without clothes :rolleyes1 so he can tell.
My Dad commented at the weekend how well my sister was doing and looked really good - I haven't really mentioned I'm doing WW. He certainly didn't mean anything by it and would be heart broken if he thought he'd upset me but I always get "you alway look the same - tall and slim" but come on folks 10.5lbs!! It's go to have gone from somewhere! :headache:
I suppose I can't have it both ways - when I gained the 10.5lbs nobody said "you've put weight on" - being tall does have it's advantages -but believe me not many as far as I've ever seen!
P.S. If my daughter ever reads this - age 7 wearing age 9-10 length trousers - being tall is fantastic! :rotfl:
Anyway - back On thread - well done everyone - as usual fantastic weight losses. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2
Janet, you are doing really well - try not to lose heart, some people find it much easier to lose weight than others.
thanks nat, unfortunately i cant find any sf polos round by me, trust me, ive looked!!
tracy
Tracy, if you want me to get you some SF polos, let me know - our local Tesco sell them. The only thing you have to worry about is that SF sweets tend to have a bit of a laxative effect if you eat too many ;)

I've another 1.5 lb off this week, slow & steady wins the race, or so I tell myself:rotfl2:
You're not wrong!!! Well done!!! :cool1:
I went to the gym this afternoon and weighed myself, I havent weighed since 1st Feb and despite being quite housebound and pretty inactive, I'm pleased to report that I've lost 1lb. Considering I've nibbled at the odd garibaldi and fig roll I'm quite pleased with that:thumbsup2
Awesome, Joanne! :woohoo: Hope Poppy's progressing well and you're managing to get some "you" time...
I have actually lost some weight! I know it will get more difficult but I'm determined. I've worked out that if I lose 1lb a week, I will be at my goal weight for my holiday in August.:)
That's a nice sensible goal, Juliette!!! :thumbsup2 Good luck... :wizard:
Good luck this week everyone - I will be trying my hardest to resist the urge to eat pancakes as I really want to lose 2-3 lbs this week :goodvibes
And best of luck to you too, Joh!!! :wizard:

Excellent result, Steve!!! :yay:
Thank you all for your kind wishes, I'm finally back on an even keel and ready to get back to losing weight. I have lost 6lb over the last 2 weeks.
That's fantastic!!! :cheer2:
My weigh in was Saturday and I lost 1lb.
So frustrating as my sister and I started together and I've lost 10.5lbs and she's lost 9.5lbs. She's already dropped a dress size - me nothing! :confused3
I understand your pain - tho' as a diddy person, I only have to gain a few pounds and I've gone up a flippin' dress size. Keep going and you'll get there... :dance3:

2lbs this week, very pleased with my steady loss. Nightshift last week so avoided take aways and late night trips to the vending machines. Tonight is treat night so will be visiting the local Chinese take away and enjoying a few beers with it. Tomorrow it will all start again, good luck for all those still to weigh in and congrats to those who manage to stick with their diet plans, it is far from easy.

Quite Late into the year but today is the day that i start watching what i eat / exercising again - im posting on here 1) it seems like a good support group, since i wont be attending weight watcher meetings and 2) as an official declaration!
- I lost quite a bit of weight last year for my hols in October, but since I got back , and with xmas and exams and any other excuse - I stopped and have defo put some of that weight back on :sad2:
I was dreading standing on the scales again, but I knew if I didnt it would be difficult to set goals and so on - I put on about what I expected - but instead of feeling really down, I have quite a postive outlook to get back into it.
I've already ran 20mins on the treadmill today so im going to work that up gradually. And try and do some other things too - as i get bored really quick with exercise .
Goal is 1 stone off by September!

Don't worry about it. You have nothing to feel guilty about, just shrug it off and carry on. We can do it! A slim figure for the summer...:goodvibes

STS for me this week.
I had a sudden trip to our Swansea office for a few days and I found this really hard to keep to WW points as I couldn't get my own food. So a STS result is a good one as I was worried I would have a gain. Happy to be back with a fridge full of food I know the points for! :rotfl:

A few weeks ago at my SW class the group leader bought in a rucksack with 14lbs in it! :faint: I could not believe how heavy it was, I wouldn't have been able to carry that around for long, I've lost a stone and you don't notice it until you see/lift that amount....it is a good way to motivate yourself. :thumbsup2

Morning all, well done with your results for last week:thumbsup2
I forgot to post on Saturday after my weigh in but I STS this week, which is pretty much what I expected after a meal out, DS birthday cake, and a whole bar of Green & Blacks........... but.......... since weighing in I'm really trying hard again so fingers crossed for this week, only 6 lbs to go to my "oh that's good weight" 8lbs if I want to be........:banana::banana::yay::yay::yay:
Good luck for this week everyone!

I'm so sorry, I'm well behind with the thread. Well done to all of you that have lost and STS :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
I went for a very early morning workout this morning and weighed myself, it's been 9 days since I last weighed and I've lost 2kgs (4lbs) :confused3 I haven't been good the last week but I think it could be a combination of today being an early weigh in and a week or so of a little more worry and nerves than usual.

Just realised that I've now lost a stone. Lucky really as I've been put on some medication yesterday that slows down my metabolism :( it should only be a temporary thing so thank goodness I lost weight beforehand :cool1:
Hi all, sorry havent kept up with this thread well done to everyone that has stayed the same or lost.
I havent managed to weigh in for the last 2 weeks as I have been back and forth to leeds helping my Dad. I have kept up with my excercise so hoping I havent done to much damage when I weigh in on friday
